“Staying true to the premise of the original series, Lion-O and the ThunderCats — Tygra, Panthro, Cheetara, Wilykat, and Wilykit — barely escape the sudden destruction of their home world, Thundera, only to crash land on the mysterious and exotic planet of Third Earth. Lion-O, the newly appointed Lord of the ThunderCats, attempts to lead the team as they make this planet their new home. A bizarre host of creatures and villains stand in their way, including the evil Mumm-Ra, Third Earth’s wicked ruler who will let nothing, including the ThunderCats, stop his tyrannical reign over the planet.”

I'm sure serious Thundercats fans will be p***ed, but I can't help but laugh at this being a thing.

Who the f*** greenlit this?
Are they freaking stupid...what?
God that looks horrible.

Considering the last version of Thundercats was the closest thing I've seen to an animated version of Frank Herbert's Dune, I know I should be angry at this, but I'm not.

Damn you Adventure Time, you've ruined serious animation for me! :argh:

I grew up on Thundercats and He-Man so I'm pissed.

I laughed because I knew the exact type of reaction this would get.

I honestly wasn't quite as angry about this until I saw the video with the creator.

as a child of the 80s add me to the WTF were they thinking group at least the one in 2011 was decent take on the old 80s series (and had OG Lion O actor playing the dad of new Lion O).

To me this isn't like Teen Titans Go. Teen Titans, the 2003 version, already had a lot of wacky comedy in it. And then they had those wackier Teen Titan Shorts in the DC Universe block. And at least fans are getting the live-action Titans as well.

You can't tell me this isn't a letdown that fans waited years after Cartoon Network dumped a high quality series and this is how they revive Thundercats.

Just pathetic lol.

Imagine waiting 15 years for Samurai Jack and it was instead revived with some parody garbage?

Ok..............Well Young Justice is coming back. That keeps me happy.

Non kiddie looking action toon shows are kinda a dying breed.

I really enjoyed the last Thundercats animated show they messed up by not giving it more episodes.

Not going to watch this though...too silly.

That is why I watch anime and always have.

I would love to have some good action cartoons like when I was growing up. Everyone now is just a reboot of those.

Unfortunately so. :(

At first, I was excited as I thought the show from a few years back would be revived, but then I saw the poster and clip. Oh, well!

Voltron, while it does have some goofy comedy, is a fairly decent action adventure show.

It looks like the Dreamworks TV She-Ra animated series will also be played fairly straight.

I'm just disappointed we got stuck with this garbage for Thundercats.

As one who loves TTG and the new PPG, this looks like an absolute disaster.

I know Teen Titans Go has its fair share of detractors, but that's basically a superhero parody series. It's not my cup of tea, but they sort of took the adventures from the 2003 animated series and basically dialed up the humor and comedy to 11 and made it a straight parody series with no serious action or stakes.

Like I understand why it got made. It got made because of those silly Teen Titans Shorts they did for DC Universe. The old show had a run and ran its course.

This just looks like an abomination. Even the artwork and designs look awful. I just don't understand why this is a thing.

Like Cartoon Network cancelled what was a high quality action show in 2012 because the toy sales weren't good despite Bandai USA doing a terrible job with the license and pretty much tanking the toy line with awful products. It was a good but short-lived series. And they replaced it with a LEGO knockoff that felt like a slap in the face.

This parody series also feels like a slap in the face after Cartoon Network dropped the old show like a bad habit instead of giving the creators the second season they needed to wrap everything up.

I don’t want to be an old fogey and usually I like newer generations having their spin on things but I’m not sure I like the idea of everything becoming Steven universe

IMHO, nothing wrong with Steven Universe. This version of Thundercats though...

I have never wanted to cut a man bun more in my life.

Yo, the disrespect.
The waste of ability to tell impactful stories.
The strip mining of another brand for a quick quarterly bonus.

This, yes THIS specifically is why we can't have nice things.
