Im slightly miffed how i missed Pearl's release back in 2022 even though i saw X. at the cinema I knew i was seing maxxxine today so squeezed in Pearl last night....

Outstanding performance from Mia, I enjoyed it more than X and that 8 minute Monologue was some of the best acting on screen this decade. Of course those Oscar fkers snubbed the performance (Like Toni Collette from Hereditary) but it was a great prequel and showcased Mia's ability to a tee, yes this was evident in X but was more potent in Pearl . The fact they shot it simultaneously with X is impressive. All the mannerisms and lil ticks are there between young pearl and old. The end credits were haunting. Now im slightly hyped for Maxxine

Just got out of Maxxxine and this was a disappointment, Cookie cutter plot, no standout scenes or dialogue. The impressions X and Pearl made are completely devoid here, so much so that it feels half arsed from Ti and Mia. Like seriously wtf happened with this BTS. I was genuinely gutted when the credits came on. This has no rewatch value and some things just felt too generic. Not what i was expecting from A24 and the crew involved with this....

The only plus was Kevin Bacon.

I enjoyed MaXXXine and Mia Goth killed it as always, but was definitely a bit disappointing for me compared to the other two films in the trilogy. Loved the 80s horror vibes, but was expecting more and wanted a stronger trilogy-capper. It's still awesome that Ti West got to make all three of these films and that all are so different from each other.

I also loved seeing his wife Alison Wonderland in there with a little DJ cameo. I've seen her live a couple times and she puts on a great show.

Yeah that nut crushing scene was just for shocks but its been done before too often, Bacon's car death was a highlight though lol

Its a Safe film and ultimately after the previous 2. Theres no pay off.

It was good enough, but not as good as X or Pearl. Mia Goth was great, loved the score and the vibes, but there definitely felt like something was a bit missing and I can't put my finger on what exactly it is. I also thought it was slow at times. Overall though I was satisfied.

I'll go ahead and give it a 7/10

I'm sorry guys but I loved this movie.

Yes it wasn't as grand or as deep as Pearl, but for damn sure it was better than X.

Also, yes it was VERY predictable that the killer turned out to be Maxine's father, but I loved how it played out. Maxine is one of the best antiheroes of our generation.

Kudos to Kevin Bacon and Giancarlo too.

Very fun movie. Hollywood, give Mia Goth her Oscar already dammit.
