I'd really prefer for them to go with a Chinese actor in the role. If they have to cast someone white, they better go all-out and get someone like SIR CHRISTOPHER LEE.

I like Freeman and wouldn't mind him in the role but i think they can get an Asian actor for the AO and not make him a cliche or be STEROTYPICAL. First off don't have him with a broken English ACCENT. The man is a master wizard im sure he has mastered many if not all languages, especially if he has mastered the mystic arts.

I honestly prefer an unknown Asian actor for the role. It adds a bit of mystique to the unknown.

I think is extremely important that Marvel casts and asian actor in the room. As awesome as some of the other choices might be (Morgan Freeman, ect) Marvel needs to remember just how important the Chinese market is for their films. With this in mind I would love to see James Hong or Chow Yun-Fat.

The place where they can really capitalize on that is Wong. The Ancient One likely won't be a franchise player, getting a big Asian star for Wong will boost them for the long run.

Hong was in Derrickson's Day the Earth Stood Still remake so he strikes me as a real possibility. The one problem being that his age would limit the amount of future appearances in sequels.
