Technically they sorta kinda have done that several times (Drax, Carina, Kraglin, arguably Quake and Raina).

Though I suppose they could go all-out and make Lockjaw a female tabby cat in The Inhumans.

As long as she doesn't go around doing interviews calling people racists because they don't like the casting, she'll be good.

That poor scenery never had a chance.

I'm curious to see how they even portray the ancient one here. The character has had plenty of interpretations over the years (and alternate universes). Heck, more of a spiritual entity that guides Strange from another plane of existence would be a totally valid interpretation.
