So will somebody tell me why mr. depp shouldnt play the joker in batman 3 between this his work in public enemies, WW, and Sweeney Todd he has every part needed to fit into that role and make it his own.

He was just ok in Sweeney Todd, he was average inn WW, and he looks pretty bad here. Havent seen Public Enemies. And he has wore whiteface like 500 million times.

Because he is too old and even though he's a good actor, I don't think he has enough range to pull it off.

Too old?... hardly a valid argument as Jack Nicholson played the Character at the age of 51.

And Johnny Depp looks a hell of a lot better and slimmer looking at 46 than most men I know.


I think his range is astonishing. If anyone could follow Heath it's Depp... he just needs to relax on the weird characters for a little while.

Not that I want Depp to be The Joker... I'm just sayin.

For me, he was too old (and also too fat). But it's just my opinion, like I said before I prefer the Joker to be closer in age to Batman (like in TKJ or TDK), like two "brothers" who chose a different path, and not like a twisted "father and son" dynamic. But I know some people like it the other way around and I respect that. And a lot of people really enjoyed Nicholson's performance and even though I'm not one of them I also respect that.
Don't get me wrong I love Depp and he has proven times and times again that he is a great actor, I just don't see him as the Joker, too predictable (for my taste). But better him than a lot of other actors, even though there is a risk that he would be doing a "Jack Nicholson doing a Cesare Romero doing the Joker"t:.

I hope to be pleasantly surprised but my gut is telling me this won't be that great. I think the makeup is wrong on Depp. I think Burton went too dark in some scenes (aesthetically). I also think miscasting took place for Alice. Hope I'm wrong
