Good question. Perhaps some legal issue?
I doubt that. The Alice stories are not subject to copyright issues considering how long ago they were written. Same goes for other fairytales and stories.
Who knows. Maybe it has something to do with why she doesn't remember any of them.
Maybe it's a different Alice?
Hmm maybe.
Alice Liddell was the name of the girl Lewis Carroll based the character on but I don't believe 'Liddell' is actually ever mentioned in the books as her last name.
It is at the end of Through the Looking Glass.

What's this Underland that gets mentioned more than once?

Apparently Alice misheard the true name as a child. It's Underland you see, not Wonderland.

wait. was this underland business in the books too? or created for the movie?

Created for the movie. It's not part of the original stories.

It is at the end of Through the Looking Glass.

Is it the poem you mean ? If so, it's more of an easter egg than actually declaring what the Alice in the book's last name is.

From Wikipedia...

There are at least three direct links to Liddell in the two books. First, he set them on 4 May (Liddell's birthday) and 4 November (her "half-birthday"), and in Through the Looking-Glass the fictional Alice declares that her age is "seven and a half exactly", the same as Liddell on that date. Second, he dedicated them "to Alice Pleasance Liddell". Third, there is an acrostic poem at the end of Through the Looking-Glass. Reading downward, taking the first letter of each line, spells out Liddell's full name. The poem has no title in Through the Looking-Glass, but is usually referred to by its first line, "A Boat Beneath a Sunny Sky".

She's the one thing that made me go OMG wanna see! if it's in 2D... She's so pretty :yay:

In 2D?? Why 2D? Have you seen the trailer in 3D? Once you do, you will be blown away with amazement. I can't even imagine the entire movie in 3D, it will be extraordinary. Can't wait.

IMO if a movie cannot be good in 2D and only good in 3D then it isn't a good movie IMO. 2D for me! :D

same applies to color and black and white. sure a good movie would be good in black and white, but why deprive yourself of the boost in experience and realism?

i will not be suprised if people will have eye strain with this 3D.

I don't think it is a matter of "if it will be good in 2D" because of course the story and actors remain the same, so it will be good. I just this it will be more enjoyable, like a movie "experience" in 3D. I saw UP in 3D and it was just fun watching everything pop out and seem so life like.

Fortunately I have not. 3D annoys me, and those glasses you have to wear don't help. But if you enjoy it, good for you :yay:

Good point, Doc Ock!

Jon Landau said it good . if you can wear 4-5 hours sunglasses when driving to the beach and then on the beach and not complain then why would it be a problem for 2 hours and 30 minutes?

I saw Up in 3D as well and unfortunate I had trouble paying attention as I got a massive headache from the 3D....I survived through it but.......never again. Up is a great movie though, just the 3D gave my head a beating.

to bad that your eyes are not able to watch 3D because its a nice effect.

Yes that poem. I don't really see it as an easter egg, it's clearly Alice's full name,
WHAAAAAAAA????

Oh noez! Originality???!!!??? :csad:
I honestly never heard of the Underland thing until that link, but I'm not being negative about it.

But there's no context to it. It's the full name of the little girl he dedicated the book to but not the Alice from the book is what I'm getting at. The Alice from the book has no last name stated.

There's as much context to it as the majority of the stuff that goes on in the stories.
