No, its the fact that, unless they changed everything, The Mad Hatter isnt the main character....

And also on that point, isnt the only star. You also got Alice, and HBC, and a few others here and there. Its the fact they just made a Johnny Depp in Wonderland trailer, which is kinda annoying.

And i'm a big Depp fan.

Well if the reports are true that he is going to be Alice's love interest than he is a much bigger character in this film than in the original. When it comes to the other characters who exactly is playing Alice because I don't recognize her and I personally don't think Helena Bonham Carter is a house hold name yet.

I understand if you wanted it to show more of the other characters but we already knew from past reports the Mad Hatter was going to be a main character.

Whats with all the *****ing about Depp? After the Pirate movies if Depp gets cast in anything he's going to get top billing, even if it's a bit part.

I think the CGI looks fine, especially the Cheshire Cat.

It's bad. I don't know why they use the same ****** blur effect from Ultraviolet. Ugh.

They did the same thing with Chocolate Factory. Wonka is supposed to be the supporting anti-thesis to Charlie's protagonist, but they gave him a full-on plotline because it was Depp. I love the dude, but he will always overshadow in his flicks, that's just how it is.

Well....Wonka was always the star. I mean, title aside, who really remember's Charlie from Wonka and the Chocolate Factory? We all remember Gene though.

Look at Batman '89, technically Keaton was the title character in that yet Nicholson got top billing. I'm not doubting your a big Depp fan as you said you were Celtic but it is kind of a contradiction to complain that an actor who you're a big fan of is getting top billing in a lot of his recent films. I don't see how that can be annoying unless you really weren't a fan of said actor.

It's a teaser trailer on Youtube in not so great quality. I'm sure it still needs to be cleaned up and finished, but it looks far from ****ty

I'm not even going to get into the Johnny Depp *****ing because I see no reason for the *****ing and don't feel like debating with anti-Depp bull, considering he is pretty much the big name star in the movie.

No, HBC is only a big name to us film geeks online. Like I said in my other post she is not a household name yet. I'll just leave it at that since you basically ended your post stating that you just find it annoying.

Honestly, most of the cast aside from Depp are brit or Aussie actors who are probably pretty big across the pond, but are only known to a certain extent over here. Depp is the cash cow, I get that.

But to me, this reminds me of this super low budget horror flick I saw that had a horror actor top billing....but yet he only has 5 lines, and then dies really quick. It was lame.

Willy Wonka wasn't the star of Tim Burton's film just as I'm sure The Mad Hatter isn't the star of this film. Just because the advertisements go in that direction doesn't mean the actual film will. There's a reason it was called CHARLIE and the Chocolate Factory... if you want to complain about a film focuses almost solely on Willy Wonka.. go rent the original 1971 film.

If anything, I can understand people complaining that Anne Hathaway doesn't get her name in the teaser like Depp, but while she's a known star, she's not as big of a box office draw as Depp.
