Tim Burton's Dark Shadows - Part 2

Those posters confirm my suspicions about Tim Burton.

He is a racist who wants everyone to be off-white. :hehe:

They also looked to age Pffeifer down. :hehe:

My favorite is Eva Green for obvious reasons. JLM looks cool too.

I kind of want a pair of sunglasses that Barnabas wears.

Tim Burton might have defied reality with those posters. He actually managed to make Jackie Earle Haley look like the normal one in the group.

They just desaturated and overly exposed all of their skintones.

Thank you, Mr. Literal.

This image next to the poster of his character above is downright confounding. I still feel this has the vibe of parody, but that is a cool image for the movie.

I don't see any wrinkles on Johnny Depp or Helena Bonham Carter's posters... and don't tell me they haven't got them.

The techniques the posters are employing may have removed any of Michelle's wrinkles, but they certainly have not tried to de-age her.

An image not in the US trailer (from the German trailer, courtesty of johnnydeppreads.com).

I actually like Johnny Depp's poster. It looks unique because of the Sunglasses.

I'm actually looking forward to this movie now. I hope it's as comedic as the trailer inidicates. I don't think I want another dark Depp + Burton collaboration now, but at the same time the tone feels more right and less forced that Alice.

Depp and Carter are also stars (and movie stars) of the film. When they try to hide wrinkles, they're trying to make them all look younger than they are. Don't take that personally.

Their last "dark" film was Sweeney Todd. Before that you have to go back to Sleepy Hollow. CATCF and AIW were incredibly light. I was hoping for something more akin to the other two that I mentioned.

No, you're just being ridiculous. :o

Are you talking about art direction? :o

Because thematically, CATCF was pretty dark. Much darker than the original.

To be honest, I''m not really a big fan of any of those movies. The only Burton-Depp movies I like are the Ed movies. :cwink:

They are probably his best two.

Although Ewing McGreggor's pretty awesome in Big Fish. :o

I didn't count Big Fish since it doesn't have Depp, but that was pretty good.

They airbrush the wrinkles out of the famous people and not the supporting actors. I point that out and people act like I'm ruining their childhood heroes.

Was CATCF really that dark? Being darker than the 1970s film is not the same as being dark. It was still a whimsical film with candy colors about Johnny Depp playing a character with a funny voice and quirks aimed at appealing towards children. It may not be as light as Pee-Wee, but it's in the same ballpark.
