Tim Burton's Dark Shadows

I am a male and Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands are two of my favorite films. Not to mention my love for Sweeney Todd, Burton's Batmans, Sleepy Hollow, Pee Wee, Ed Wood and Corpse Bride.

Then there is Depp's work from Fear and Loathing to Pirates.
 
Guys LOVE Burton and Depp... I don't know where this Avengers fear is coming from.

Besides The Avengers comes out TWO weeks before Dark Shadows here in the UK.

That short footage looks fantastic. Can't wait to see the full trailer.
 
When did Beetlejuice become a bad word? If this is truly like Beetlejuice, it has a chance to be the best film of the year.

It has been the recent talk about the fears of this being a "comedy" when the B word comes up. Not really here, but over the web. I didn't even know it was possible to not love that film until the last few months thanks to Dark Shadow.
 
Huh, I've only seen Beetlejuice mentioned when the stars were talking about it being "vintage Burton," which was meant as a good thing. I don't know anyone who doesn't think of Beetlejuice as one of his classics.
 
Comedy/Horror... Beetlejuice/Sleepy Hollow.

Whatever - This movie looks amazing and i'm sure the story will be fun regardless what slant it takes.
 
Hmm, I suppose I'm okay with this movie being a comedy. I was really curious to see if he would take the more horror approach, which, I'm not going to lie, I was hoping he would. Either way, the footage looks fantastic, and I can't wait for the trailer.

By the way, is the countdown just mistaken, or is it actually going to be 22 days until Apple gets the trailer? :P

Interesting. The author does mention that they weren't a fan of the show so it's possible that those particular relationships simply weren't spelled out well enough or they just missed it.
 
He ssaid he saw a screening of film not trailer.This site has been known to have reports from socalled screenings that are wrong.The screenwriter's comments don't jibe with
this so called screening report.Now before we call this a comedy let's wait till we see trailer.However a comedy from Tim Burton Is different from horror comedy.Beetlejuice Is basiclly a comedy but a never viewed as a parody of horror.

When Tim Burton says the reports of this being a funny film are news to him.There have been reports the first screenwriter was fired since he know nothing about Dark Shadows,and wanted all cast members to watch dark Shadows DVDs to prepare.Don't forget they got the 4 principal surviving cast members to make cameos and praise the film.And this Is something they didn't for the 91 remake show.

There have been several people reporting that there was a screening last night, though. Just look at the comments in that AICN article.

I've watched plenty of movies with large ensembles where I wasn't sure who was whose kid and what not, because if that's not the focus of the story, you don't even notice. Some details just fly over people. I don't find it hard to believe that the same thing happened to this guy.
 
I think in terms of comedy, it's gonna be more Ed Wood than Beetlejuice.

It's hard to miss Elizabeth and Roger are siblings. They even have different surnames. I think it may be fake. I hope it is, because I was hoping it'd be closer to Sleepy Hollow and Sweeney Todd than Beetlejuice. But I'm still looking forward to the movie.
 
I hope its a comedy because the source material, yeesh its bad.
 
Exactly.They have been described as siblings In the official plot outline.That Is a giant flag at It being fake.So I would reserve judgement for now.

I expect this will be a film that Is kinda of a cross between Beetlejuice and Sleepy hollow.

The only time Tim Burton has ever made a parody was with Mars Attacks.

Tomorrow we will get an Idea on how Burton Is bringing dark Shadows back.
 
So far, the previews don't indicate that this is a comedy at all. It definitely seems like a horror movie.
