the movie version was pretty brutal! the tv show was campy but still dark! this remake looks like total cheese! The funny thing is that making Dark Shadows a horror movie would be as unfaithful as making it a comedy. It was a campy daytime soap opera, not some brutal horror show.
No, it really doesn't.the movie version was pretty brutal! the tv show was campy but still dark! this remake looks like total cheese!

I wouldn't say he's the only director to achieve it, Ill say he's the only one I can think of who can continuously deliver though. No it doesn't look and isn't. According to people who have seen it at test screening it's dark and funny at the same time. Only one director can manage to achieve it. His name is Tim Burton.![]()

I forgot to mention, Johnny Depp and Eva Green look to have some great chemistry in this. I can't remember the last time I noticed he had such chemistry with a leading lady.
What is this "other" Dark Shadows movie you guys are talking about?
My biggest complaint with the show is its slow moving as ****. It takes like a half dozen episodes just to advance the plot the littlest bit.
The atmosphere, however, is great.
Like I said in my first post, the visual tone of the movie is definitely different than the tv series, and if someone had a complaint with that, I could at least understand their qualms.Fans complaining about the trailer is like if they made a Power Rangers movie as an intentional comedy and people started complaining because it lacked the drama, action, and oriental philosphy of the series. At that moment you'd turn into Chloe Mortez and ask if they were stoned. In fact, let me do that right now, "DACrowe, are you stoned?"
