Tim Kring reveals Volume 4 codename

Great find Mr. Sinister...

'Volume 4: Fugitives' sounds like it could be very interesting!

So 'Villains' is only 13 episodes and 'Fugitives' will be 12 episodes.

Would love to have seen 'Exodus' in its entirety!!

Sounds like the existence of people with special powers will be made known to the public sometime this season and the government starts cracking down on them!

Should be interesting.

Don't get too excited over this, I think it's just a working title and maybe rather than the godsends being exposed, the title referrs to the "villians" being tracked down?

But...isnt that kinda what this arc is supposed to be about?

I'm psyched, I'm just saying to BluTac that volume 4 will probably go in a different direction than volume 3.

And, I think that Heroes most certainly has a direction. Probably not like Lost, where they have an overall plan for the series, but I'm sure Kring has a grand plan for what direction to go from season to season.

Somewhere in the arc the villains are released (we don't know where yet) but from the information we have, it would appear the Vol 3 title is referring to the heroes own morality issues.

Mutant X got sued because they were blatantly ripping out story arc's completely from the comic books. Heroes has shown no indication of even taking exact storylines, just being influenced by them.

At some point, with shows about people with superpowers, there's really no where to go since X-Men and other comic book superheroes have done pretty much everything under the sun.

And the volume is just a title, there's no indication that they will be going that route. That was just my personal thoughts on it.

ETA: Also judging by that video, it looks like Kring & Co. do want Bell back for this season, but she's moving on with her movie career.

Kristin already had films lined up to shoot but Kristin has said numerous times that she loves the show and wants to be on it whenever she can. So if they dont kill Elle off anytime soon I can see her coming back a couple of times every season. Depending on her schedule hopefully she will be able to come back again towards the end of the season for vol.4.

so are Villains and 'Fugitives' going to be showed in what's considered a season? or do we wait another year for 'fugitives'?

Villains will be the first 13 episodes of season three, then they'll more then likely break from December to January. Then Fugitives will return for the last 12 episodes of season three in probably late Jan, early Feb.

ok, that makes sense

sort of like LOST, but for a better reason.

I got from another interview of Kring and of the actor who plays Nathan says

Nathan will be a villain. A Lex Luthar type villain

I'll post another topic about it with the info. This makes me more excited :woot:

Cool tidbit of info. But I have one thing to say about it; wasn't this predicted way back in the beginning? ;)

I think you're a little confused. A whole entire Heroes season lasts for 22+ episodes (25 this season), running from September to May). They always take a break during the holiday season in December for a couple of weeks then come back after the new year.

This season they are starting Vol. 3 "Villains" which contains the first twelve episodes of season three, then when it comes back in January Vol. 4 will be the last 13 episodes. That was to be the same format for season two, but the writers strike cut the season short.

Oh yah I forgot that Future episode, they said Nathan betrayed their kind along before Syler did what he did. Hmm It really is turning into that future :wow:

why are they seperating heroes into these different volumes that only last 12 or 13 episodes. i thought that the volumes lasted for at least 22-24 episodes.

If I'm not mistaken, the reason for the shorter volumes (splitting the season into two) is because Kring thinks it would make writing easier since the overarching plot wouldn't need to be stretched out over so many episodes and instead be resolved quicker, and not complicated with too much filler.

Exactly.

Cutting seasons into volumes keeps storylines from being dragged out for far too long, and like you stated it keeps the unecessary fluff out.

It also keeps viewers from having to wait for season after season to get answers to the point where they even forgot what the question was!! (glares @ Lost, although it's still an amazing show!)

Kind of predictable story direction, but it should be really fun. :)
