TitanFall

Am I the only one that doesn't think this is Call of Duty with mechs. It's easy to play like CoD but it feels WAY more Quake 3 Arena to me than CoD.

I'd definitely liken it more to Q3:A. I'm still playing trying to change my own mind. When I die less it is more enjoyable lol.

Yeah, it's definitely more enjoyable than CoD. CoD infuriates me most of the time, this doesn't.

It's so dam unique that it's hard to pinpoint any game in specific. Yes, it does have some fluidity similarities with COD but that's to be expected for a game that has the creators of the COD series working on it.

That's not a bad thing. They did what I feel they were going to do with the COD series had they stayed with the IP. They evolved and added all the creative flourishes that make this team one of the best developers for any FPS in history. Top that off that it's running on the source engine and you have something quite special.

Sure there have been mechs and military shooters before but nobody has quite done it like Respawn.

When I kill a Grunt it was just an AI soldier?

Correct. When you kill a Pilot its a human soldier. Grunts/Specters are AI.

IDK, i haven't spent a lot of time with CoD since MW2, but I can see the comparisons. Its got that twitchy feel to it, but its deff much more. The traversal system really sets it apart. This game does have that pick up and play aspect that CoD was known for.

Yea they really have managed to make controlling the mechs second nature, which is cool. It just a fun, bombastic experience. Its refreshing for me as iv pretty much been glued to Battlefield and Gears of War the last few years. This deff feels like something fresh, for me any way.

There's a certain ease to controlling the Titans. It's very smooth gameplay.

Previous shooters with a mecha aspect haven't had this.

Played this with a group of vocal dudes tonight and we were really working well together. Synching our Titan drops and what not and we were pretty much wrecking shop. Cant wait to get a group of friends together and play this game. Man is it March 11th yet?

I haven't heard a single teammate the whole time I've played.

Yea its been fairly quiet for me as well, but this lobby i jumped into tonight had most of the ppl chatting back and forth. It was a fun lobby.

Looks like someone was able to peek around in the Beta and found these map names(along with the Angel City and Fracture maps we've been playing in the Beta):

Colony
Relic
Airbase
Boneyard
Corporate
Outpost
Lagoon
Rise
Smugglers Cove
Training Ground (most likely a tutorial map)
Overlook
Nexus
O2

They also found some more Titan and Pilot perks as well as the names of some Weapon classes and game modes.

I ended this game last night thinking it was fun, but I really wasn't sure if I was going to buy it at launch. This morning I had the urge to play it again. I may be addicted.

It's wierd to play a fps multiplayer for at least 6-8 hours and not really have a complaint

This has got to be one of the most easy games to get into and just pick up and play. Really fun.

I almost still wanna get this because I love the gameplay. Maybe getting good and higher level will make me like it more. Dying is my biggest complaint after all lol

Ya know I don't die that often. Around 3 times a match. I'm guessing it's because there's only 6 human enemies, but jeez it's a drastic change from BF4 where I am ALWAYS dying by some unseen enemy. I love that when ur Titan is doomed you still have a chance to reenter the battle, plus I love that whole eject sequence animation.

if this has been put up already my apologies

TITANFALL’S BURN CARDS EXPLAINED

Users mining Titanfall‘s beta data on PC have uncovered 13 additional maps beyond the two featured in the beta, as well a listing of game mode acronyms and other information.
According to users on NeoGAF and Reddit, Titanfall will feature 15 maps total, several of which are set within Angel City, including an airbase, a Hammond Robotics corporate building, and a smuggler’s den within Angel City, as well several of which are in more open environments in the same vein as Fracture. Artwork for each map can be found on the NeoGAF post.
Game mode acronyms include, AT (assumed to be Attrition), TDM (assumed to be Team Deathmatch), CTF (pretty sure that’s Capture the Flag), LTS (assumed to be Last Titan Standing), HP (presumably Hardpoint Capture), VM (Variety Mode, betting), and Campaign Multiplayer.
A list of Pilot and Titan weapons, perks, tactical abilities, and ordnance can also be found on the NeoGAF post.
The Xbox team also released a new video that explains the game’s Burn Cards system, a Magic the Gathering-inspired set of one-off bonuses players earn by completing varying tasks during matches.
Titanfall launches on Windows PC and Xbox One March 11. The Xbox 360 version being handled by Bluepoint Games will arrive two weeks later on March 25. The game is currently in open beta for all to access on PC and Xbox One, which closes February 19 at 6 p.m. Eastern Time.

I may have played myself back into this game lol. Enjoying it and curious to see the campaign multiplayer mode.

Love the burn cards and really love the smart pistol

Yea I dig the burn card mechanics. After so many hours of the beta I really have no complaints. I'm ready to see these other maps and ready to get some good time in with that Ogre and Stryder.

I'm shocked that everything is so well balanced. There are many many things in this game that could have gone wrong or been unbalanced but they're not

Yep, that's exactly my thoughts. The game is extremely well balanced. From the map layouts to the parkour to the titans and pilots. Everything just feels fair. Really, really looking forward to the full game.

Enjoyed that Wolvie, great guide/intro/walkthrough.
