OkayYou have seen how well "grit" has done for DC so far, right? The grittier they get, the worse the outcome. Which is why it is a disappointment they keep failing to learn not everything has to be dark, depressing, super serious all the time end of the world eye rolling gritty.
just read the new synopsis for the series.
Titans follows young heroes from across the DC Universe as they come of age and find belonging in a gritty take on the classic Teen Titans franchise. Dick Grayson and Rachel Roth, a special young girl possessed by a strange darkness, get embroiled in a conspiracy that could bring Hell on Earth. Joining them along the way are the hot-headed Starfire and loveable Beast Boy. Together they become a surrogate family and team of heroes.
surprised that Raven/Rachel gets 2nd billing to Robin. Makes it seem she and Robin are the 2 main leads.
and it looks like the Raven-Trigon storyline will be the focal point for Season 1.
Holy Cow! They might as well tie it into the DCEU. This sounds awesome.
As for Starfire though, when they say hothead I hope this is in reference to how Starfire was in the first arcs of NTT, where in combat, she was capable of getting bloodthirsty and at times Robin and co would have to calm her down.
Mostly a by product of the fact that Tamaraneans run on emotions so they fight with all their might and love with all their might. Though outside of that she was a outgoing, optimistic, and overall life loving figure.
I hope this is what thats referring to.
What happened to the exotic warrior archetype? Comics were full of those.
My guess was that just as is the case with Robin, she's once again a veteran.
She's grown beyond the "fresh off the boat" phase in her life popularized by the cartoons.
Secondly when reading Wolfman and Perezs New Teen Titans it was actually a pretty dark comics especially when you read the Trigon arc, Who is Donna Troy?, Judas Contract, The Brotherhood of Evil arc etc.
Previously, Seamus Dever was cast in the Titans series in a mystery role, prompting speculation amongst fans. Finally, that mystery role has been revealed. FandomWire has learned that Seamus Dever will portray the villainous Trigon! Dever is best known for his role as Detective Kevin Ryan on the now-cancelled ABC series, Castle.
Im not much of a fan of Dick/Bruce animosity.
I expected Trigon to be in human form for most of the show for budget purposes. but I hope we will at least get a glimpse of his true demonic form via CGI at some point.

#1.10 Hank and Dawn
#1.11 Koriandr
