Titans Live Action Series on the way...

I bet this is our lineup

Robin
Starfire
Raven
Beast Boy
Blue Beetle

I can't wait to see Robin's costume. So glad Dick is in this. They skipped Dick's Robin days so this is perfect

So happy about this announcement

I'll be honest - I appreciated him in Young Justice a helluva a lot, dont know much about his comic book origin aside from being addicted to drugs, (heroin I believe.)

Do you think it's something you'd rather see in Arrow go into or prefer to go into it on a titans show?

He was portrayed so so well on young justice. Comics get retconned so often that full storylines and major character developments are erased from continuity very often. Young Justice found a way to do multiple versions of comic book accurate Roy by having there be clones of him. Thought that was genius.

I think Arrow definitely left the door open to do some of the great Roy storylines sometime down the road (heroin addiction, his time working as a government hit man etc). But I would really love to see him on a Titans show for sure

So would I! Him and Blue Beetle are the characters I want the most!

At one point both Static Shock and the Jaime Reyes Blue Beetle were so popular, if DC had played their cards right either one of those characters could have become their equivalent to Marvel's Spiderman...

Not sure why they dropped the ball on that, especially both characters being minority representations and being so popular and badass

I'm anticipating this more than just about any DC project

The Titans and Dick Grayson in particular are about 33% of why I'm a diehard DC fan

Wolfman's run was groundbreaking, but Geoff Johns run was absolutely perfect for a more modern take on those characters. He really knows how to write the Titans and I couldn't be happier about his involvement

I like that everyone here is on the same page regarding the roster.

I'm also a huge fan of Static and Blue Beetle. I would love to see them included in the lineup.

The classic roster is great. I'm a fan of Aqualad, Wonder Girl and Speedy but I don't think they're necessary. The Titans have become so much more than that, and the core of the team has become Dick, Raven, Starfire and Beast Boy. I like that the Titans aren't all sidekicks, that becomes repetitive when all the characters are just weaker versions of the Justice League

I think they should start out with a core team consisting of Robin (leave Nightwing for the movies for now), Raven, Starfire, Beast Boy and Blue Beetle and just build off of that, allowing other heroes to join later.

That's basically the formula they used for the Titans tv show, and that worked out really well.

It's curious that Berlanti is a writer on this. That implies that there's a possibility of a CW overlap. I wouldn't mind seeing Roy or Wally guest star. Their version of Ms Martian is wack though, too old. I could also see Supergirl introducing Superboy, which could be interesting..

Honestly the best bet is probably to set Titans in its own universe just like the show. Manu Bennett was great but I'd like to see a different Deathstroke in this that is driven by something other than Shado's death.

What should the season 1 storyline be? Is it too soon to do Judas Contract?

Edited so as not to triple post: And can we talk about CW's Kid Flash? The costume is good, and the actor looks the part, but the way he is written and acted is just so far from what I always imagined. I feel like I should point out that race is not a factor here at all, it's more to do with the portrayal and writing. He's kind of boring, Wally should be more exciting and have a sense of humor. The Young Justice Kid Flash is pretty much ideal should they decide to use Wally in this tv series

I would say that it's probably best to leave Wally out for now. He is a key component of the DCU, but it's not critical for him to be in this tv show at this point.

I'm so thirsty for more information regarding this show, I hope it actually happens

Hopefully Oracle is still included.

Hell ya!! Kinda wish this was on the CW so we could get Wally West and Roy Harper on the team though

I wonder if this is set in the same universe.

Can't wait for this to be cancelled or barely finish production ! :woot:

Other than Constantine and now possibly Powerless, how many modern DC live-action shows have actually been cancelled?

That's not exactly what I was talking about . I was moreso referring to the fact that they already tried getting a live action series going, but it never even went into production if I recall. It's just a project that reeks of failure , and I wish they'd do the right ****ing thing and put DCEU Cyborg in a Teen Titans movie already .

And exactly, Constantine was awesome and it was cancelled. We aren't allowed to have good things very often. :csad:

At least that Judas Contract animated flick was great.

Okay? That's not exactly an uncommon or unheard of situation in the world of entertainment. Show pitches being dropped and ending up on other networks or platforms happens pretty frequently.

Yeah - having dabbled in writing it's very common for a writer to take on a task set out by a company and they'll announce it's in "being made"

which is true..but a lot of times they script itself won't be ever actually used.

Since WB seems to have so much of DC spread evey where (CW, Fox, Now this, the movies, the animted movies, cartoon network.) it seems they have much less control over companies "announcing" things.

Where as Marvel seems to stick to three if I'm not mistaken (Netflix, ABC, and there own movies.)

Also its usually sony / fox interpretations that generally drop the ball with announcing a bunch of stuff they aren't 100% sure on.

Given this is run by DC I highly doubt it won't go through, it would have to take a massive corporate shake-up for that.

It's being used to launch their streaming service, so I don't see them backing out of it. I don't think the TNT show was past the pilot phase.

Now whether it continues past its first season will depend a lot on whether this service does well.

Marvel has added Freeform (Cloak & Dagger, Squirrel Girl & the New Warriors) and Hulu (Runaways) to their broadcast mix. They also are expanding beyond Spy programs on ABC with Inhumans, but I'd have preferred they held onto those characters for the big screen.

Oops, meant ABC,

sorry, living in Canada it airs on CTV, and I kind of combined the two, I had meant ABC.

Yeah, the freeform and the hulu are relatively new - I think its a good direction to get on many more streaming services as they seem to have a lot more flexibilty to what they show compared to standard networks which seems to want to maintain a certain rating.

So who should be first villains we see:

Blackfire

Cheshire

Brotherblood

Or

The Brotherhood of Evil?

I really want to see Wally, Donna, Garth, and Roy in this.

Yeah DC definitely dropped the ball with both characters! Hopefully they learned their lesson though and we get both characters on the show! That would be amazing!

I think Donna has the highest chances of being a part of the lineup out of all those characters. I wouldn't count on them all being together though since the fab 5 lineup isn't very popular.

Geoff Johns tweeted Beastboy was definitely in it. Gar has a pretty loyal following.

Not surprised. The new "iconic classic" lineup is Robin/BeastBoy/Raven/Starfire/Cyborg and they want to get hat TT:GO crowd.

Well before TT:go there was just the TT show. Which is why i respect that line up.

Not to mention that the most successful iterations of the Titans whether it's Wolfman's run, the 2003 toon or Teen titans Go has often had a variation of the Robin, Starfire, Beast Boy, Raven and Cyborg lineup.

Yeah those 5 are the characters most associated with the brand. Although to be fair Blue Beetle has benefited quite a bit from Cyborg's "promotion" to founding member of the JL and has somewhat taken Cyborgs place in recent media adaptions (other than TT:Go). I'm wondering if the same will happen with this show (BB instead of Cyborg)...

I'm not getting a service for this, but I'd definitely be interested in seeing it on DVD.

Ditto.

For those wondering if it'll be connected to the DCEU, tbh I can't see that given the recent announcement of the Nightwing movie.

That Inhumans pic makes me worry about this. The looks of Beast boy and Starfire are a big worry.

You can "go human" with Starfire. Beast Boy is more of a concern.

Beast Boy is just like Starfire. All you have to do is make him green with elf ears.

Tell me Armani Salado doesn't look like Jaime Reyes Blue Beetle ripped straight from the comics! I dare you lol He's my pick for bringing the character to life either for the DCEU, CW or the Titans tv show! :)
