Just speculating here, but its possible the pics I posted of his suit are after he has gone a few rounds with Zod and company..maybe its supposed to look kinda grungy by that point.
He isnt wearing his cape afterall, maybe it got ripped off.

Obviously he is going to have the cape so I imagine this is prep before a scene possibly some wire-work since he doesn't have the cape and there seems to be a cherry-picker or crane behind him. I would like to see that this Superman though can be hurt by people who are just as strong as him. I can't buy into that he fights with the three villains in pajamas from Superman II, all as strong as him, and Superman's hair never falls out of place and he does not even get as much as a rip in the costume or a busted lip. If you fight with 3 people and you don't even get a knick or cut, then that means either you are probably a very good martial artist (which Superman is not in the Christopher Reeve movies) or you were fighting with 3 toddlers. I would hope this Superman bleeds and gets abused if he is fighting 2 or 3 people who are trained fighters.

My logic for Superman not getting visably beaten in SII was that Zod et al were only on Earth a short time, thus they hadn't been fully charged by the Sun. Duh. Haha, geek logic.

Wow I'm loving the costume even more. Can't wait to see some clearer and closeup shots of it .

That is an interesting way to think of it. The way I am thinking of it is that if someone is strong enough to knock you out though with a punch like I believe the girl or Zod did to Superman in Superman II. It would have to make something bleed. At least a swollen lip, a bruise, anything. If a punch is strong enough to knock anyone out, it has to be strong enough to make someone bleed especially in the sensitive skin where the eyebrows are or the lips.

We'll definately get battle damage with Snyder, of that I'm sure.

I am sure we will too. I don't need to see anything too bad, just believable. If a guy is not bleeding or anything in a fight, you wouldn't really feel like "oh my god, that guy is in trouble!" I'd be happy with at least as much damage as James Bond had after the fights in Casino Royale. Anything more than that, and it might not be a PG-13 movie anymore.

True, he was crying in agony and then it sounded like he was laughing when Lois pulled out the Kryptonite shank out of his kidney. I wouldn't like to see him scream either "Something... something... lay steel... or steal from Superman" or whatever he was screaming when Luthor's posse was beating him up in "Superman Returns".

I'm still superman. Get off! Is what I believe he said.

What? "I'm still Superman?"
I thought he might have said "You steal from Superman" because they stole the crystals, not that. Why would he say that? I don't think that makes any sense. I don't think it makes any sense either that without powers he can't even throw a punch though.

The subtitles confirm he says "I'm still Superman!" There was something very off about that moment.

I never got it either. Perhaps it was something in the deleted scenes. Either way that's what he says.

I agree I just find it very off putting to have him say that.

What does that even mean? Is he talking to them? Trying to convince himself he is Superman? What is up with that scene. "I'm still Superman?" He could have at least yelled that he was going to hurt them, kill them, whatever, but "I'm still Superman?" Really? A guy flies off to another planet, has fought aliens, and seen the destruction of his world but a single punch from a "sick old man" sends him into such a state of shock that all he can muster to say is "I'm still Superman?"

I think Singer and his writers thought it would be a really dramatic thing to say but it just comes off as false and cheesy.

yeah, it was stupid. maybe he was in shock because he was getting his ass handed to him by Kumar.

Hahaha.

It seemed very last minute, maybe added after the movie was finished shooting. Do we know if that was even in the script?

Indeed. Well I think luthor basically depowered him. Maybe it was no matter what you do to me. I'm still superman.

I agree it was just a cheap attempt to pull on the audience's heart strings, and tried to make it overly dramatic. It just came out very false.

But surely he must have felt the effects of Kryptonite before and since he had already had Luthor arrested, obviously they met, so I don't see why that would fool Lex, or the guys. It is just so weird. I have no clue what he could have meant. No matter what I am still Superman, that would mean more if he were Kal-El since Superman is just his public relations name.

There's a classic Superman shield right above the car to the right. What's that about?
