Jessica Jones To fly or not to fly...

Its a Netflix TV show set in the same world/place as the dark and gritty Daredevil show so I can see why they don't want her flying around. Wouldn't fit tonally, and they likely don't have the budget to make it look even as good as that CBS Supergirl show. I imagine even most of her "super jumps" will be the same tricks the George Reeves Superman show did where he leaped into frame.

I can almost guarantee it will be more sophisticated than that.

They're spending $200m on the 4 Defenders shows from what I heard and I suspect that's considerably more($50m per show) than what CBS is spending on Supergirl. And I suspect DD season 1 was the cheapest of all 4, given the fact that he requires much less SFX.

The netflix shows are going to be $200m for 60 episodes, which is an average of $3.33mil per episode.

Considering the budget for CW shows like Supernatural are over 2.2 million, netflix isn't paying much more than a smaller network.

The pilot for Supergirl was $14 million. (though pilots are often more expensive than consecutive episodes).

I suspect they'll be spending more money on the mini series, so the budget may be smaller than the average.
