Homecoming Tom Holland IS Peter Parker / Spider-Man

Compare this with the pic of Tom and Hemsworth side by side. Holland's 5'8 stature confirmed.

That's not necessarily true

Sure, but it sounds like Tom was the clear favorite through out a vast majority of the audition process (at least for Feige). I think Rowe was there largely as a potential back-up if things didn't work out with Tom.

I am still so glad tom was picked. As I said for weeks there was so many good factors in favor for tom. And I am glad he wowed marvel sony and all in the decision making process. I can't wait to see him talk about the role in the coming months. And also see his suit for civil war.

And lol ya to all the yahoo's online bashing him either cause they don't know direction this new series is going. Or ot knowing all the good things about tom. Let alone seeing younger older bad photos of him. The sites should have used that photo of tom next to that big mask, those head Shota from his mom, that one from his twitter and instagram page. Or even the pics of him with Hemsworth and others from his up coming Ron howard film.

As for tom not talking on social media. He could just not want to do it now. Or been given word from marvel and sony to stay quiet to they do first official interview with him.

I'm happy for Tom as well.

The hate and bashing he's getting is not all that surprising since its what fandom does when practically anyone is cast in these roles , and would have happened regardless of who was chosen.

Marvel and Sony weren't gonna please everyone.

It's the same with any fandom with folks not knowing things and just going by first look or opinion. Again once we see suit. Tom as peter and some footage from civil war. And for the solo once footage of that comes out next yr during its production things will change.

I like that height comparison website it's fun.

I wonder what tom will say in first interview. And I def could see tom showing up to one of the premieres for antman.

That's not necessarily true

Yes it is, they made a bunch of tests to get the right actor, if they thought Charlie had potential to do a better job they would have hired him.

What is with all the posts about Tom being too ugly, or having an ugly chin/mouth?

The more average he looks, the better!

Isn't that partly what's made Spider-Man so relatable...the fact that he is an 'everyman' with everyday problems (and everyday looks).

Unlike most Superheros (Captain America, Superman, Batman etc) Spidey shouldn't have that action hero 'look'.

When one looks at Peter Parker he shouldn't scream 'superhero', he should scream 'skinny nerd', 'average joe', etc. Peter should look like the guy you always ignored in High School, the next door neighbor you never gave two thoughts about.

Just my opinion
but personally I always felt Andrew was a touch too pretty in his Spidey Films.

I'm sure they'll mess around with Tom's look, I just hope they don't try and pretty him up too much, as the thing I always liked about Spidey is that he, more then any of the others... represented the hero that can reside in the average person (even the geek sitting in the corner).

My feelings summed up PERFECTLY.

With how Kevin has so far talked about spidey and pete I doubt they will screw with looks and pathos and all that.

He might show up, but whether Marvel will specifically interview him is another matter. For Age of Ultron, Tamara Krinsky (whom I think doesn't actually work for Marvel like Lorraine Cink but just covers these events), only interviewed mostly the AOU stars and a few Agents of SHIELD stars. There were actors from Daredevil there but she didn't interview them at all.

True but those won't be only reporters at premiere yoy got trade sites and the et access etc... types there too. Who could talk to folks.

If Tom Holland shows up at the premier for Ant-Man , every reporter and their dog will be trying to get an interview , they'd probably even push Robert Downey Jr out of the way to get to him
