Tool can do no wrong
but their albums are kinda hard to digest at first listen
It's funny, I actually think Lateralus their newest one is their best one yet...

I've heard their drummer is AWFUL in concert. I wouldn't know, though.

Hey did you hear those tracks where Maynard sang with Alice?

All my friends who like Tool (and I don't cultivate friends who aren't smart and who don't know music), when I've told them I dislike Tool, have said that Tool was the best concert they've ever been to, mainly 'cause of Maynard and that I HAVE to see them live to "get" it.

No, but I did hear a track Johnny Cash sang with Alice...which was wicked.

yeah . . . that sucks that you didn't like the concert; like I said, the concert wasn't as hype as I would have liked, but that was the crowd's fault

Seriously? Danny Carey OWNS!! I never heard him make a single mistake

My friend (who's really big on progmetal and theory based stuff) said his drumming was boring, pretentious, and uneventful. Or something like that. Like, he solo'd and it was half an hour of blobby pseudo classical piece type thing. I've never seen them in concert, and his drumming is fine on the albums.

So yeah.

see . . . I like progmetal, too . . . but only a small group of bands . . . and the drums that those guys dish out are pretty thick; plus I've never seen any of the other progmetal bands live, so maybe my opinion is biased.

But, I'm actually a drummer myself, and I couldn't stop watching him for tricks

I've got an mp3 of Tool and Disturbed together playing "I'm Killing You Now" that absolutely rocks.

Disturbed I can take or leave...they've done some embarassingly bad stuff, and some awesome stuff. Awesome stuff like some of their recent album, and a live cover of "Walk". Embarassing stuff like their previous album and their cover of "Shout" by Tears for Fears. :o

But a duet like that could work.

Yeah, when they're good they're good, but when they suck...they SUCK!

Unfortunately, consistency in most popular hard rock today is hard to come by.

I don't know how you can call yourself metal, and then record a cover like THAT. :(

Seriously when did Johnny Cash and Alice in Chains do a song together?

I KNOW. That's why it cracked me up.

Now I want to hear Marilyn Manson do "Everybody wants to Rule the World" !

with a lot of facsist imagery in the video.

Search it on a filesharer. It should come up in the same category as a song they did with Pearl Jam. It was live, so you're not gonna find it on any albums.

Errr...Disturbed beat Korn to it, actually. It's on their latest album. It's actually not bad, either.
