Torn between systems, Please give opinions..

Well, i feel that there wont be another game this generation that'll match MGS4, for either system. Its funny, after i completed MGS4 i had this overwhelming since of sadness as i realized that im probably not gonna have another experience like that for a long, long time...actually thats not funny, thats really sad

You're not the only one . Think about how long it's been building up. Hell I remember when I first got the MGS demo, I can't remember if it came with a magazine or not but I do remember the demo. I remember bringing it to my sisters house (her husband loved it), and friends house and they were just astonished with that game. Think of how long it's been since that came out and all the MGS games since. It's kinda sad that a long running series is gone. It to me is like a final Mario game where Mario's old and having his last adventure to a hardcore Nintendo fan.

IMO it will take a long time for another series to give it's hero that lvl of a send off.

most developers/publishers dont have the guts to give their heroes a sendoff and thats why we wont see one like that for a while

Sorry but THE game of this gen that non can match is a multiplatform title called Fallout 3 and is coming for PS3, 360 and PC so everyone can enjoy the best of this gen. It's sad that the game won't be perfect like Fallout 1 & 2 but still, anything better than abysmal Fallout Brotherhood of Steel...
Also, MGS4 only wins in the story department and even then, you never know when the next Legacy of Kain might come out.

Legacy of Kain is horrible. Soul Reaver 1, was amazing and one of my favorites on the PS1, but they screwed up the series with all the games that came after. I cant believe they could mess up something so good

I gotta disagree. Blood Omens weren't that good but Soul Reaver 2 and Defiance were classics IMO.

haha, IA. I was like WTH? when I read Legacy of Kain. That series only had 1 great game. The rest were either mediocore or just downright terrible

Well if it's about sales, Wii Fit, GTA4 and many others outsell them both. Sales is not everything.

As for LOK being mentioned here, I disagree with you. Both MGS and LOK are great series IMO and are the best in console story telling.

Well its more along the lines of sales combined with scores, not just either or. I dont disagree with you on LoK being a good series, its just not in a league with MGS

Good point but don't forget that Fallout 3 is a Bethesda game and their Oblivion sold millions. Fallout 3 has fans of both Obliv and Fallout (Though Fallout fans are really angry about the first person view of F3. As a classic Fallout fan, I also would have prefered an isometric view for F3 like Diablo 3 but sadly, it didn't happen).

As for LOK and MGS, I agree that MGS indeed is in a league of its own but for me, both are among all time faves with fun gameplay and awesome stories. Granted, I prefer LOKs characters (Except for Snake who pwns all) and MGS' superb awesome cut-scenes.

In all honesty, I never play my 360. I own all three systems, I play Wii the most, probably. Just because Wii is the type of system you can just pick up and play for leisure without investing too much time or energy into it. Between PS3 and 360 though, I'd go with PS3. The only reason I've yet to sell my 360 is because of Fable 2's pending release. 360 is really only great if you are into FPS games. I'm not, so it doesn't do much for me. I can get my sports game fix and better graphics on PS3. PS3 got GTA, it got MGS, it is getting Resident Evil. The only two major series' that you will completely miss out on with a PS3 are Halo and GOW. So, if you like FPS, go 360...if not, I'd say PS3. The games are starting to hit, the online has caught up with Microsoft's. But thats just my personal preference.

I like how the you refuse to mention the 360 also has GTA4 & the other 3 GTA Games which are 360 Compatible lol nice one the "Stories" stuff suck & are just PSP ports so thats not much to brag about the PS2 having. If your going to mention multiplatform games when trying to convince someone to buy a certain system you need to give him / her all options & be fair to the two systems to choose from & like I said in a previous post there are really only two "honest" ways to decide between these two systems & the 360 has been doing alot better this gen in terms of RPGs then the PS3

I think its been shown on multiple occasions that its extremely difficult to tell the two apart and there have been occasions where its determined that the 360's version of the game looks better. Iv seen and played GTA IV on both systems on the same tv, they look identical to me, so "better graphics" on either system is a hard sell

This is why I do not usually get involved with these things. He asked my opinion, I gave it. I didn't refuse to mention GTAIV. I think it is pretty common knowledge that GTAIV is on both systems. I was simply pointing out that there aren't many games you cannot get on either.

Not really, outside of the games that are on both systems, when you cut down to its core, most of the 360s best exclusives are first person shooter in my experieince.

Maybe, I don't really notice graphics all that much. I can't even really see the difference between blu-ray and DVD. But it is my understanding that hardcore graphic junkies has better technology...soo...
