Animation Toy Story 5

Dear God in heaven, this series had a beautiful ending in Toys Story 3. The fourth film felt underwhelming but now this fifth film is overdosed.

I still have to watch the 4th film, but I feel you completely about 3. However, can’t lie, the premise about the toys facing off against electronics does intrigue me.

3 was the perfect ending. I did like 4, but didn't really feel like a conclusion but more of an epilogue. Lots of talent involved with 5 and I've loved Toy Story my whole life so I'll be there day 1 regardless.

I'll be seeing for sure. I highly doubt they'll make a "bad" Toy Story movie.
But it does feel like they're stretching this thing: they keep finding good endings for them to undo them on the next one.

Also the idea of multiple Buzz Lightyears in factory mode or whatever sounds utterly boring and lazy. We saw that in 2 and 3, do they really need to go back to that well?

Interested to see how they bring Woody and Bo back to the rest of the gang. I’m not a big Toy Story fan at all but I thought 4 was good (2 is my fave).

Buzz's arc was resolved in the first movie. The focus of 2 was on Woody. In 3 they had to put him in spanish demo mode. And in 4 he was given nothing to do (besides that lame "inner voice" thing). They don't know what to do with Buzz.

Agreed about Buzz being pushed more and more to the background in 3 and especially 4, but he was given a proper storyline in 2 between leading the toys on the mission to rescue Woody and more importantly, he was the one who gave Woody the pep talk to bring him back down to earth and remember his purpose. It was a mirror of what happened between the two of them in the first movie with the roles reversed but it still worked.

Oh yes, the focus was on Woody but he still had relevance to the plot for sure.

Yeah, Woody is a much more complex character. Buzz doesn't have many layers so there isn't much they can do with him. Maybe something with his romance with Jessie. But a storyline about him meeting a different, more advanced Buzz would have been interesting, akin to Lightning's storyline in Cars 3 where he had to face becoming obsolete.

For all intents and purposes, Woody has always been the main character in these movies. Buzz is the most important secondary character but he's still a secondary character regardless. It's just easy to forget that because of how popular the character is.

They really did miss the boat about doing a story where Andy tries to get the toys back.

A bit surprised that the toy company that makes Buzz never changed his design after 15-20 years.
They could've at least outfitted new versions with the fancy utility belt that he got in Toy Story 2. It still looked cool.

Imagine if the movie starts off with Woody and Forky back at Bonnie's house, with no Bo Peep in sight and no explanation as to why they're back. :funny:
