As we know we will get our first glimpse at the fantastic four along with the release of kingsman the secret service February 13 and possibly as early as July 29th if were lucky. I know everyone has given up on this movie but that's kind of harsh given that we have nothing official as of yet. Will the fan-boy assumptions be proven wrong? Possibly, possibly not.

I plan to analyze this trailer in hope to find some good news. WBU?
How much can we expect to be revealed besides the tone of the movie and a few shots of the actors?
Do you think we will see the fantastic four in any group shots or perhaps in "costume"? Perhaps a glimpse at the new origin story?
Will we see Doom or be given any information on his character?
And most importantly will this trailer confirm or deny the state that the movie is believed to be in?
We will know in just a few short weeks, about 9 days if we are lucky. I personally think we deserve something maybe a still or logo to hold us over in the meantime.

Here's what I'm expecting (these are just guesses, but I'm going to speak fairly specifically, so just take those specifics with a grain of salt and the more specific I am the more likely I am to be wrong).

First off, I think it's going to look pretty good on its surface. It will be intense, there will be a lot of close-ups and it will feel very dramatic.

The FF won't look like the FF. We won't see the kind of high-tech gadgets that have come to define the FF, but the 'containment suits' won't be as bad as people are expecting. Containment suit has been misinterpreted. It's not the typical containment suit devised to prevent a person from being exposed to disease, radiation etc., but a tight, tough suit designed to contain the four's powers (there will need to be some explanation for how Reed's suit stretches, Johnny's doesn't burn and Sue's turns invisible - probably not in the trailer, but in the film and the suits will reflect that).

It will have a number of elements from Ultimate FF, and we may get a glimpse of Reed and Ben as children (though that element may not be in the trailer). We will probably get a glimpse of the portal from a low angle looking impressive, imposing and as a 'gateway' to the adventure and danger that awaits.

Doom won't look good, and because of that, we will only see him in poor lighting if at all. We may not hear him speak as 'Doom' (once he has his 'Powers'), but may see something with him as Domeshev.

The Thing will be the star of the trailer, but will only get a small amount of trailer screen time (and as with Doom, may only be seen in shadows).

After it's released, the forum will be flooded with people who haven't paid much attention and aren't particular fans of the FF who will be excited by the trailer and they will come here to share their excitement.

That's my expectation for the trailer, and I'm also expecting the film to be pretty bad and not look or feel like the FF. But I think they'll be able to show enough cool things in the trailer that the film will look pretty cool and they may even look vaguely like the FF on some very superficial levels that casual fans will like, but long-term fans will not.

Yep.

Especially that bit about people flooding the forum who know nothing about the FF and/or the issues this production has had.

I don't know.

They could've done this months ago and saved themselves a lot of percocet. If they had that much confidence in their spin doctoring once they saw what they were working with I'm sure they would've done it as far back as NYCC.

It could be done just like you've mentioned, I just don't think the reception will be that positive despite how easily impressed F.O.X. fans can be.

I think Doom will have maybe about 4 seconds of trailer screen time and it will be full costume and voice but as a sizzle reel towards the end of the trailer. Im speculating that we will get a taste of the fours powers. I also remember last year that Doom wasn't suppose to be the main villain, only to be set up for the sequel, Harvey Elder or Mole Man was suppose to be the main baddie. I highly doubt it now though, but it was one of the first bits of news that we heard regarding this movie. So i guess we will see right..

This is sounding pretty accurate. I've suspected something like this would be the case, and I've been readying myself for the dozens of posters who are going to come here and try to poke fun at the detractors after it comes out and "looks good" but they'll be singing a different tune come next August.

Oh can't wait to see melted trash bag Domashev.

Man, you'd think so. But some people dig so damn deep down into denial that they never see the light of reality again.

It's just a guess on my part, so I could be completely wrong, but here's my thinking:

The Fantastic Four are cool and visually interesting. If done right, they could have an amazing film, but even done wrong, there will be some interesting things to see - at least enough to condense an hour and a half down to a minute and a half and, using the best and very carefully chosen bits, will likely look interesting to someone who doesn't care if it's really the Fantastic Four.

And while Josh Trank's directing style and the whole 'grounded and gritty' thing isn't Fantastic Four at all, I can imagine it making for a minute and a half of 'interesting' scenes.

Why haven't they shown anything sooner? Because they are having serious problems and it's taken a while to get things together and they weren't about to send Josh Trank to a comic-book convention and any still photos won't really look like the Fantastic Four and people like us will complain etc. etc. etc. But based on the film I'm expecting, I think they can put a trailer together that will look interesting.

Just as an example, try to imagine what it was like before you had seen much from the 2005 film. Without knowing what we know now about all the flaws, there was a point at which this looked pretty cool:

Misleading thread title.

I thought to trailer was out. :argh:

I'm looking forward to seeing what the trailer will bring, I'm not ruling anything out. :)

So if the movie is made by Fox, it's automatically going to be horrible? Even a trailer that looks great isn't going to win you over? What if critics like it?

I'm calling it now guys, this "teaser" trailer coming in Feb is not going to show much. I think we should all keep our expectations very much in check.

There may be people who feel this way, but I haven't seen anyone express an opinion close to this on this thread. What post does this relate to?

This twitter user who also leaked some stills from terminator genisys prior to release claims to have seen the trailer. Here's what he has to say:

"#FantasticFour trailer is surprisingly entertaining. Expect a grittier take but with some extremely fantastical elements too. #Optimistic."

If someone uses the G word one more time while referencing this movie My head will explode.
Other than that darn word, I believe we will see something that will be quite good and surprise most fans.

:thing: :ff: :doom:

^^^ They've used the word "gritty" so many times that I feel like I don't even know what it's supposed to mean anymore.

My best guess at this point is "a euphemism for the old studio approach that superhero movies had to be grimdark and watered-down by reality."

And now, experience the gritty emotion of this brand new gritty take on The Four, witness the fantastic grittiness of raw gritty adventure.

i also think it's credible just because it'll be out in a week or so and one person on the internet has actually seen it

as far as it being disappointing, i can't really agree because i actually liked the way they did the origins for UFF. sounds like ALOT of cgi which also matches with up the lack of information regarding sets outside of the studio.

Assuming that the Trank rumors are false, this was probably the main reason for the lack of info. Doom pre-CGI looked terribad.

Eh, it doesn't sound completely terrible. I actually like the idea of using the N-Zone as a source of their powers. I'm cool with that sort of change. To me it doesn't matter how they get their powers as long as it's in the service of visually interesting scientific exploration.

Reed sounds out of character though.

It also seems to match this very closely:

http://io9.com/if-this-is-the-new-fantastic-four-movies-plot-it-is-no-1660154234

So I'd bet that either both are real or both are fake. We should have a clue a week from now.

If that's the trailer that shows up, I think I will have lost all hope.:csad:

Debunked on the article you linked. So far everything the only thing that Fox has lied to us about was Miles Teller. Things like female Doom were also confirmed fake.

This is the trailer synopsis before it expires on 4Chan. Edited for profanity

Rumoured Trailer Synopsis
>Fox and Marvel logo with that glitchy effect.
>We Reed meeting the principal at college. He's intelligent, graduated high school at 15, got a fancy scholarship, but he's a bit of a showoff and has a problem with authority.
>Flashback to Reed in class having a test. He technobabbles that the algorithm that elaborated the test is predictable and lists a long list of potential combinations for the answers, and says he'd rather like a challenge. The teacher orders him out.
>Reed gets expelled. On his way out, two guys in suits approach him. He asks who they are, they say they're "his once in a lifetime chance. Ever heard of the Baxter Building".
>Cut to Reed hanging out with Ben and trying to convince him to come along. Ben is reluctant and says he's got some stuff to do. Cut to Ben as the gateway driver as some dudes rob a convenience store. One of the dudes pistol-whips a costumer and Ben is horrified.
>They joke around about having each others' backs.
>Cut to Reed and Ben arriving at the Baxter Building and meeting Dr. Storm. Pretty sleek-looking office, all while with glass walls and lots of touchscreen ****.
>Dr. Storm basically wants to recruit Reed to his research team and leads him to the "N-ZONE FIELD". It's a massive dome with a red mass of energy that looks like a mini-cosmos. Reed asks what it is, Storm says it's "the future". Reed touches the glass and the red mass does a cool ripple thing.
>Cut to Sue dropping some basics on how the N-Zone works, it basically bridges dimensions and could change the world forever. Storm introduces her as his daughter and she says he took her in after her parents died.
>Johnny shows up joking they're a big happy family and Sue introduces him as her brother. He's pretty dudebro and yells "Let's get this SCIENCE started".

>Then we see Victor. He's the Baxter Building's top-programmer or something. We see him toying around with multiple computers. He says the entire power grid is connected to the N-Zone Field generator. Dr. Storm says there cannot be mistakes. Victor says "I don't make mistakes". He's got a Russian-esque accent.
>Black screen.
>Then we hear a countdown, and see Reed, Ben, Sue, Johnny and Victor. It reaches "0", and a big machine shoots some blue bolts into the red masses, it collapses upon itself, everything gets dark, and suddenly there's a massive explosion of red/blue energy. Everyone looking worried, alarms buzzing, and Victor says something like "it's adaptating".
>Explosion, the five get caught in it.
>Then the music stops and we only hear heartbeats and some quick flashes. What I remember
>Reed stretching out his face. Looked kinda' creepy.
>Sue's nervous system exposed, everything else invisible.
>Johnny looking at his hand on fire.
>Ben crouched in a dark room. We get only a real quick glimpse of the Thing.
>Victor touching a computer and it suddenly begins working.
>Reed and Sue kissing / about to kiss.
>Some shots of they all aside from Ben using their "containment suits". They're kinda' armor-looking blue spandex with white/grey metallic plates on top of it.
>Sue yelling and some **** exploding in the background.
>Thing's had punching some stuff across a room.
>Victor yelling at someone, looking pissed.
>Then we hear two voices, one of which I think is Dr. Storm's. "They're just kids", "No, they're weapons".
>Shot of Reed, Sue and Johnny looking worried at a ****huge red/blue mass like in the accident expanding above the city.
>"FANTASTIC FOUR".
>Then quick shot of Victor holding the mask.
>Release date.

As for the trailer synopsis, I think that might be real since it's in the can. At the very least, I hope it's real since we'll get a smarter Reed and Sue this time around and despite Doom being a blogger, he'll be more accurate since he's from Eastern Europe this time around and Sue seems like she'll actually have a personality. It's not a high bar to set but better than the Tim Story films.

And for everyone hating the Ultimate FF origin, it's easier to fit into the modern day than the 616 origin. There's no longer a space race and the first manned mission to Mars is still a long way off. Before Ultimatum hit there were still some things that I didn't like about the Ultimate Universe, namely killing off Gambit and Cable being Wolverine from the future but overall it was great.

If this film works, I expect the sequel to follow a 616 storyline.
