Howdy, guys! Straight outta TDK forum. Hellboy tries to be the king but the ace is back! Meaning that The Dark Knight will own Hellboy's red ass next year but HB is such a cool character so I wanted to pay a visit.

Guillermo Del Toro is such a class act and I really wanted to like the first Hellboy movie. The entire Hellboy universe has an amazing potential and Ron Perlman as HB is just incredible! But something was a bit off in the first movie. I've seen it only once so maybe I should check it out again. But I was dissapointed with the movie first time around even though I loved the off-beat tone!

I wish the sequel is able to raise the stakes but judging from that teaser...it just felt like more of the same. Been there, done that. And some of those monsters were pretty lame IMO.

But as I said, I hope that the movie will prove me wrong!

great googly moogly moo! I love the creature effects!! the angel of death looks fang-tastic and does the elf prince! he's got a refined and elegant voice which is so cool to hear when you see him angry about things.

Tooth Fairies...huh...Somehow Del Toro managed make even those scary. Good man.

The trailer was, however, a bit underwhelming. Visually it was stunning but it didn't leave me with much else. I still can't wait for this film though. Hopefully it doesn't get overshadowed by TDK, IM, TIH or IJATKOTCS (f-ck thats a long one).

Curious, how do you know so much about the movie and it's characters when most if not all of the "bad guy" characters were made up for the movie. I have all of Mignola's Hellboy books and none of these fairytale creatures are in them.

Just wondering if you read a leaked script or something.

Yes, it possible. I based that more on the fact that Ed Norton has a pretty good box office draw. Enough to possibly draw more attention than Hellboy. But you are right, Hellboy might beat the Incredible Hulk. I just don't see it outselling Iron Man.

I'm not a very big fan of Hellboy having never read any of the comics but I saw the first film and I am quickly becoming one. The first I thought was pretty cool and now I'm looking forward to this one. The trailer looked wonderful. I just love Del Toro's whimsical visual flare and excellent storytelling abilities(if only more people could perfect them both) and he is quickly becoming one of my favorite directors. This film looks very nice and I'm always a fan of combining both a great blend of CGI and practicality. And I see they've upped the ante, love the look of the bad guys and it should make for a good story.

As far as comic book films, I can say I'm actually looking forward to this one more than Iron Man.

I'm Doug Jones' webmaster and I was on set in Budapest a couple of months ago. Saw lots of stuff, etc. including lots of the designs, scenes (two of which are in the trailer), got to know the story and hung out with some of the brilliant people who created all this magic, including a lot of the Spectral Motion guys. Incidentally, the story is an original and does not really reference the comics, although Johann's new look does come from the comics in a way.

i can actually imagine del toro having the tooth fairies pull the teeth out of that guy's head... maybe that's a little too R rated for the movie, but damn that would be nice!
