If he IS elected, then, yes, we've reached that point. We certainly HAVE reached the point where it's a possibility. Maybe it'll take shooting someone on 5th Ave......stay tuned.
To play devil's advocate... why wouldn't he shoot someone on 5th Ave? He was impeached twice & only narrowly lost the last election. He's been on trial & now convicted, yet support is still strong. There are never any consequences for him. Somehow, murder would still be a grey area for Trump.

Wulllllll.....to play the devil's, devil's advocate, that would be a lot harder to get away with, but, really, the issue is whether people will actually elect him in November. Biden is a weak candidate and is running against a felon and serial rapist.....stay tuned.....

And Kennedy is a kook. There are no great choices here sadly. :(

Only rational ones......Look, Biden has both surprised me in a positive way (think the infrastructure bill he originally supported that was scaled way, WAY down) and in a negative way (think his Israeli/Gaza policy), but I see a, admittedly narrow, path to move the debate to the left in our political discourse, but it's not coming from the republican party. Whether it comes within the democratic party seems, to me, doubtful, but there's other work in the labor movement that gives me some hope and I would be fully supportive of a strong party with a base of support that challenges the middle of the democratic party (which I consider just right of the right of center).

I see the US as a boat that is on some very shaky seas and has so, so many problems. I also see a political structure that makes me literally sick to my stomach. I also see said political structure as more compliant to fundamental change than places like Russia, China, Iran, etc. and other politically rigid and outright bigoted countries (think womens/religious/workers/etc. rights).

Remember Trump wants to sidestep government regulation that he deems hurts corporate profits... God knows what can of worms that would be.

The conservative tears must be flowing hard tonight. I’m listening to a compilation of evil laughter to celebrate.

I miss the Green Goblin emoji.😞

What up with the mouth thang?

Father Teresa? Trump coming out?

David Lynch got nuthin on these folk. S*** gettin more and more weird.....

For so long, white Americans have believed they were impervious to the law, that it only applied to black people.

Their time is up.
I would say that for so long rich Americans, mostly not black, believed they were impervious to the law and that it only applied to their lessers.

Economics and race are inextricably intertwined, but financial means is the real determinate in the US. Anyone who thinks the scales of justice, for example, are fair, has the money to put on one side of the scale.

So, my parents are still firmly on the “Donald Trump is innocent and did nothing wrong, all the judges are the ones who are corrupt” train after hearing about the final verdict.

Yeah, somehow, he’s right and everyone else is wrong. That sounds perfectly logical. It’s like even when he does wrong, he can do no wrong. He could defecate on live television and they would still support him, as long as it’s not Biden and the “radical left“.

It’s like the Principal Skinner meme all over again.

I've got relatives that feel that way, although thankfully neither of my parents are Republicans or Trump supporters.

While its a sad day in american history that a former president has been convicted of felony crimes, Trump did this to himself, he assumed he could be a mob boss and do everything he wanted to anyone he wanted and yesterday showed justice isnt color blind, or just for the rich, he strolled out and spewed that same bull he always does and his base melted down as expected, in a sad and disgusting display of woe is me, again attacking the system that he was sworn to defend and protect, and is running to defend again, we all here know Trump is only about Trump and watching his supporters whine and cry about the cult leader was shameful.
The question is now what do republicans do, for my entire lifetime (52 years) Republicans claimed to be the party of Jesus and law and order, so, Trump is literally the opposite of everything Jesus taught, and now their front runner and apparent nominee is a convicted felon, something he can not pardon himself on, he was convicted not by a judge, or as Trump whines about President Biden, he was convicted with overwhelming evidence by 12 common citizens, people who work 9-5 jobs and from all accounts were very professional, paid attention to every detail and focused on the facts, one juror from reports said he got all his news from Truth social, if true then he would be more sympathic to trump, but again if thats true then he like the others did their jobs as citizens and followed the facts and law, so the question is, if republicans are the party of law and order, and their nominee is a legally convicted felon of 34 counts, what do they do? Based off the idiotic meltdowns yesterday by senators and congressman on the right, the answer is they are no longer a party for the people but for Trump and maybe more true republicans like Liz Chenney, Adam Kinzinger, everyone at the Lincoln Project, need to rally and stop the disease that is Trumpism and Maga, take back their party and work with Democrats and get the business of the american people done.
