Blade elevated the source material like Battle Star Galctica did.
And yet, there was a ton of BSG "fans" who were talking boycotts and loathed the direction they were "elevating" things.
So, is this supposed to support your argument any?
Bay is giving Transformers the LXG treatment. That's why you Bay drones are focusing on the mindless action instead of the characters or subtext.
If you say it enough, it'll be true. And be sure to wait for the moment in the film where you're supposed to clap to bring Bumblebee back to life.
Bay is using the same approach as LXG. Distorting the original characters and themes to widen the audience but in doing so he is hiding the true appeal of the original fantasy and concepts.
Which again is what? You keep avoiding the issue and tossing out nebulous terms like "true appeal of the orginal fantasy and concepts"
What that means to YOU is totally different from another fan.
Well I'm glad your the first to resort to childish insults. It's a good indicator you have a weak argument to begin with.
Just thought you might appreciate having your own tactics used against you.
So predictable
Again Batman comics had cheese but there some other stuff there too. I never said there was no cheesy moment in the G1 cartoon, but you keep bringing up Optimus Prime playing basketball as if that's all he ever did in the cartoons. For most of the cartoons, comics, and animated movie Optimus was dignified and honorable.
So again, point blank, if you can be bothered to answer the question.
Did G1 have cheesy moments?
And by your reasoning, if Optimus is mostly dignified in the film and has one of two moments like G1 did, it's faithful.
Keep supporting your argument, it only bolsters my own
So your saying the source material isn't anything near epic but Bayformers is? What did he add to the Transformers universe that elevates it to epic status? Just because a movie has a big budget and 'splosions doesn't mean it qualifies as epic.
Try sticking to what was actually said genius
Define what the word epic means. We'll wait.
Yeah, Peal Harbor is a "visual epic" and most people despise that movie. But then again the source material (bombing of Pearl Harbor, WWII) didn't have epic potential so I guess Bay's hands were tied.
So, does Bay do visual epics or doesn't he? You can't say it's ridiculous and then apply the term yourself. Do you even read what you post?
Admit it, Bay missed the mark. That movie missed the point.
I suppose so, since I never bothered with it, I don't feel I have any business saying it succeeded or not.
So you actually saw it, eh? For someone who hates Bay, you seem to be an authority on him..
You don't care. That's why I don't understand why you spend so much time discussing the merits of this film. Did Bay save your cat from a fire or something?
Who says I don't care? Oh right, YOU do.
There's that whole "say it enough and it'll be true one day" tactic.
If you actually bothered to read what I post, you won't see me discussing the merits of the film as you put it. I generally post to give information or correct false information being spread by "haters"
Yeah and when the movie makes money you will pretend like it means something like the Phantom Menace apologists.
So, which is it? I thought those fans were to be praised for removing Jar Jar and curing cancer and everything else fans are responsible for in the world.
Oh right, have your cake and eat it too, gotcha.
I never said there wasn't. There's bad stuff in Batman comic books too. It's up to the filmmakers to take the Joel Schumacher approach or the Chris Nolan approach.
Both have their problems, admittedly Schumacher having more of them.
Nolan's a great director, but made some horrible choices for BB.
Are you serious? Everybody who has seen the prequels knows Jar Jar's screen time goes down each prequel. and It's most likely due to the backlash from the fans.
Wait, "most likely".. I thought you KNEW that fans were single handedly responsible. Not the soccer moms, not the jocks, etc...
Seriously, if you could pick one argument and stick to it, that'd be great.
Just because I don't buy Energon and Armada toys doesn't mean I'm not a true TF fan. It just means I have standards dude.
There's the problem.
What is a TRUE TF fan?
You might as well be fighting the Crusades and saying you have God on your side and everyone else is wrong.
By belitting other TF fans as not "TRUE TF Fans" you're insulting a lot of people.
afraid? Don't flatter yourself.
Well I'm not going to get into a pissing contest with GI Joe fans but I will say there's a reason they chose Transformers over Go Bots. So it aint all just about watching giant robots fighting.
Ladies and gentlemen, you'll note he avoided the issue again.
It's ok to be scared.
