Dark of the Moon Transformers: Dark of The Moon Teaser Trailer

The teaser for ROTF showed plenty of footage?

I'm not talking about the footage content, i meant the trailers looks dark and serious for the two previous movies, but the movies were far from that tone. So just because the teaser for DOTM looks serious and dark, doesn't mean the movie will be either...in fact i'm willing to wager it will be just as humor filled as the other two, because if it's not, it will unfortunately feel inconsistent to be a sequel.

:wow: Awesome teaser, Was that Sentinel Prime ?

That could be a good shout!

Ah fair enough, that I would agree with then, but who knows, maybe this will be the more serious movie we have been waiting for.

Oh i expect Agent Simons to be a big part of this film as well:

"Remember all the stuff i told you about the government and transformers the last time? There's more and it involves man's first landing on the moon. Yeah i just remembered of it now. So let me show you my thong now."

Trilogies or sequels don't have to follow the same tone throughout the whole series.

For example, look at Empire Strikes Back, compaired to A New Hope and Return....Empire had a completely different tone, and fit the trilogy just fine.

I'm pretty sure that he's not even in this movie. I may be mistaken though.

Trailer was underwhelming. Not getting excited after TF2 let me down so badly :(

ESB was dark for a reason. The good guys basically get their asses kicked and are left in a bad position by the movies end; ROTJ redeemed these things by having the good guys win, so ROTJ returned the franchise back to the consistency of ANH. Bay said that DOTM was going to be his last TF film, and that there would be a sort of closure in this pic, so to make it dark and serious now, would not really work. Simailarly, the LOTR and POTC trilogies followed the the same light, to dark and then back to light sequence of movies as Star Wars.

I was really hoping it would be Unicron, but I agree. He looks like an Autobot.

Best looking Bayformer yet. All the robots should have this level of detail and soul.

Sadly I have a feeling this is Bay trying to pre-empt any efforts by the reboot to humanize the characters. Just so he can say, "I did it first". Yeah you did it way too late, jackass.

That one is honestly the closest to a humanoid looking face a la G1 that we've gotten.

I've always thought that the movie designs could have benefited somewhat if the 'bots had more 'human' like faces. It makes more them more surreal.

has anything thought that it could be the ark that the astronauts discovered and that robot is one of the robots coming to life? im surprised nobody thought of this, all i hear is UNICRON UNICRON UNICRON (stupidest transformer ever)

I don't think it's the ark, because it would throw out the idea from the first movie that Bumblebee had to send the signal to allow other Autobots to find him/spark.

What's stupid about Unicron?

How is he a dumber character than Bay's Frenzy or the bucktoothed twins?

Yes, surrealism is cool.

It also makes them relate-able instead of just big, lumbering monsters.

Honestly, who cares if they look exactly like humans? I love the insect-faced decepticons.

Beause they're civilized beings. They have more in common with humans (conquest for power, speech, war, four limbs, bipedal) than with insects.
And the fact that Decepticons have more bug-like faces takes away from the concept that the Decepticons and Autobots are brothers divided only by ideology (their war is considered a civil war). But Bay gave them bug faces so they'd look obviously evil. That's just lazy.

You want giant bugs for the bad guys go watch Starship Troopers which explores that idea fully. Decepticons mirror HUMAN conquest, greed, and cowardice. Giving the bug faces is just a distraction from any relate-able parallel they're intended to have with humans.

Oh come on, then how do you explain that the autobots dont fly but the Decepticons do? The bad guys are always gonna be uglier, so stop using your logic so much. In my opinion some of the decepticon designs are amazing, ie. Megatron, or that bulldozer guy Bee killed in the desert. Starscream's rodent face is pretty good as well and it really suits him.
