lol yea I get that but what's the point? We've had 2 films already the fans obviously know their stuff if you wanna tease have a proper nod at who he is not another generic bot.

I give up on films, they just start destroying well estabilished characters or stories and then say "It's a different visual take on something" or "different medium", and people just go along with it, they seem to forget what made it special in the first place.

I personally think fans should get together and do something too many characters have been destroyed over the last 10 years.

This site is called superherohype and yet the superhero's who we should be hyping have somewhat been diluted and reconstructed to suit the man in the office.

Wonder how the astronauts got him back to earth, or did they just leave him behind on the moon since they didn't have anything large enough to transport him in? Maybe when he was awakened he became hostile with the astronauts good or bad because they were disturbing him & he escaped & flew off or whatever to earth either way it will be interesting to see how things play out.

Your absolutely right. I'm not disputing any of that because it's true.

Yes they do still retain the "characteristics" transforming being the keyone, but let's be serious, it's just another "Wolverine and his little buddies".

So many characters to play with & build an actual persona with, which i think they tried in number 2 but some were still sidelined and didn't even get a voice, they were just there in the background so fans could be like "hmm, which could that be?"

It's hard to single out and say they should be like this or that because of the variations, but the ones that really do stick with people is the G1 series, that's if we're talking numbers of people that would instantly recognize.

That's already something to play with. I just think it's fallen off, lacks that emotional content from bay, he's passionate you can tell, he's got the explosions big effects down, but it's just missing heart.

The way Prime died in 2 and then brought back.... enough said?

That's the sort of thing I'm talking about, but... it brings in money right? So fans should just shut up and let stuff like that carry on right? There's nothing we can do.

If it came down to it I would prefer Monkey over Truck. I enjoyed G1 as much as the next guy, but please, they can't outright redo the Sunbow cartoon. It's dumb. It all ready exists. Why do it again?

OP is voiced by the actor as the show. He is still a truck. The transformers are still in a civil war. A Witwicky is tagging along. Energon still shows up, etc, etc. What do you want from them? A shot for shot remake of the first three episodes of the show?

I'm watching the original G.I. Joe and Transformers cartoons right now. Have you watched them lately? Or have you ever watched them? They're pretty awful. I know they worked when we were kids, but they don't work now.

All they had to do was embellish the good parts and fill in the holes with stronger sci-fi.

and TF3 is gonna have more nods to G1...the footage from Chicago shows Optimus has his trailer and it looks like the G1 trailer

There has never been a G1 live action movie and G1 was the most popular Transformers series.

The movies, just like all other forms of media, have to update, change with the times, yet can still have that connection to the past. The movie isn't G1, and never was made to be so, but it tries it's damnest to please everyone.

It doesn't try its damnest to please everyone. Most of the changes are uninspired or outright pointless.

Oh, and there's no way that the Transformer in the ship is Soundwave. Soundwave is supposed to be on Cybertron ruling in the chaos that was created when the Fallen fell. He can't be on the moon 50+ years in a ship out of commission...
...unless... he's ruling Cybertron because he was on a ship on the moon and went back after waking up...

transformers aren't human...like any alien the concept that they would look like us is a movie based contrivity.

antrhopomothic alien faces belong in cartoons, where everthing is drawn for animation...tv animation in the case of transformers. That's probably why the cgi beast wars and beast machines have more design liberties than the G1 cartoon.

that being said, this is a movie so the point is moot anyway.
