Ice Age will probably take it's number one spot next weekend and this will be nearly dead by the time Harry Potter hits.

It will depend on word of mouth. I'm not going see the film again, and most of my mates felt disappointed.

I think it's going to go through the Spider-man 3 route....

I don't know, my audience loved the movie, big claps at the end. It could act like Pirates 2. Critics and more hardcore fans disappointed, but regular joes dig it.

Watching this once is probably enough. It finally has the awesome fights and badass Prime moments that were lacking in the first one, but in turn they upped the stupidity factor. They upped it big time.

I have no more hope for humanity. :o
its ridiculous...but ah well...already ive heard from all my friends(dont care about intelligent storylines...) that this is better than the dark knight and that they thought the dark knight was depressing and its nice to see "awesome fight scenes" *sigh* havent seen it yet so i wont completely judge it but from the clips and trailers...oh my :csad:

They upped Prime too much IMO.

But, I think this will be the #1 film in the US this year still. It made a lot last night. I think it may not have the legs Transformers had, since this is a not as good as it, but it'll still be big. I don't think it'll die off that quick. I can see SM3 like tracking.

It was great to see him kick ass. But yes, they upped him too much. With the first one fans complained that Prime got his ass kicked all over the place. Now the tables turned and fans will complain that Megatron got his ass kicked too much. How difficult is it to reach a middle ground?

They depowered Megatron in an effort to make the Fallen seem tougher. Which would have been a good strategy had the Fallen actually come off as intimidating in the film, as opposed to not really doing much.

They made him look like a badass with the teleporting and taking out the army with the flick of his hand. But he didn't put up a fight against Prime at all. After like 30 minutes of war, the ending was really disappointing.

All 10 midnight showings at both theatres and all showings today after 5 have sold out. It is going to make big bank.

The only real record this is a lock to beat is the highest Wednesday number. Harry Potter's mid 40M level holding of that record will fall, but it's not getting the opening day record, opening weekend, or opening week records. TDK is completely safe on those, I'd say.

It was. I don't like it when the villain is beaten that easily. It is one of many things I hate about the FF films.

My soul just died a little.

You haven't even seen the movie so please...

In a world where the most watched TV shows are all spin-off and copycat reality T.V. shows can we really act surprised when a stupid movie full of explosions, childish jokes, gratuitous upskirt shots, and corny ass dialogue (again) strikes a cord with all the morons in this world?

The Dark Knight struck a chord with a lot of people, not just fanboys but a good amount of the general public. It drew in the morons, people who didn't watch or like Batman Begins, Heath Ledger fans who wanted to honor him, etc.. It had some decent action sequences but it had a solid plot and terrific acting to give the action weight and purpose. I think the film's phenomenal success domestically and worldwide, coupled with virtually all positive critic reviews and audience WOM, speaks a lot about it.

I'm still shocked that someone as experienced and well-liked as Steven Spielberg actually recommended Michael Bay of all people to direct a hot property like TF.

My soul just died a little.
yeah....these are the people i deal with....love um to death but the movies they praise are...well...they like twilight and transformers...enough said....not saying transformers is bad...its just when they say its the greatest it just makes me hurt that i have to suck it up :oldrazz:

The movie's not going to set any major records. TDK set the bar too ridiculously high, plus the Wednesday opening kills its chances at the OW record.

I do think the Wednesday record is gone (that's a forgone conclusion), and the WOM from the general populace seems rock solid so far. It should be able to outpace the original.

Ice Age 3 is not really a threat to this movie,TF:ROTF will over power it
at the box office next weekend. The last Ice Age movie made $ 195,330,621 domestically.

Half the shows were sold out. I had to buy a ticket 4 hours in advance.

Five theaters....one hundred seats per theater....10 bucks per ticket.....15 showings...

damn, thats a lot.

The audience I saw it with on Tuesday night clapped at the end. It's stupid fun, but the key word is "fun." Also, the theater I saw it at on Tuesday night had 4 showings and all 4 were sold out, which was crazy b/c it's a nice-sized theater.
