I can easily see this making over 200 million its first 5 days and probably making 300 million with its second week.

The film will gross a lot of money. I don't think this shocks anyone that it is performing like it is.

I dont think its gonna drop. The thearter I went to was sold out until Midnight and I know plenty of people who are going to see it...in fact I may see it again today....now I am in no was saying that me and my circle of friends hold sway over the movie going public but just from what I have seen I think its going to make some serious money

We'll see what kind of legs it has. I won't gage that now, but the first 5 days for the film are safe bets. After that, we shall see. The reaction is so far mixed at best, and WOM can hurt the film if it is too negative. Now, it won't cripple it if drops are high, but SM3 drops are quite possible.

I know alot of people who are gonna go see this various times and take as many people with them as possible. Just like I will.

I'm gonna see it again tomorrow and then next week, see if my cousin wants to see it 4th of July weekend.

Ice Age will take a good chunk out of it next weekend.

WOM is a powerful thing. Some of the people I know who loved the first TF movie were either hugely disappointed or hated ROTF.

I think the run will be like SM-3's -- big in the first week, but then WOM causes interest to drop significantly. I see it closing with a $375+ million domestic haul.

Family films like Ice Age always do. I don't see it taking 2 weekends at #1 either.

It seems to depend on who you talk to. :funny: And it definitely depends on the region. From skimming through the BOM forums, it seemed that TF2 was playing VERY well in Texas, selling out every showing etc etc. But in places like New York or Chicago it wasn't playing as well.

I guess it doesn't matter, it's all money in the end. :funny:

I am from Texas and yes, our two theatres sold out every single show midnight and yesterday. I haven't checked today but I imagine most will sell out Friday.

SM3 drops are not gonna happen IMO.

SM3 completely alienated it's core group of fans by catering to the kiddies and the girlies by becoming the kiddie/girly chick flick that it was. Transformer 2 however (as bad as I thought it was) delivers everything that the its core group of fans expected: CGI, "jokes", Shia, Optimus, fights, explosions, and of course pedophilistic upskirt (or in one case upshort) shots of smoking hot girls..

So I don't see TF2 disapointing its fans like SM3 did and thus I don't expect big drops from this one. In fact I fully expect it to make $450+ million and maybe more. It's an inconvenient truth, I know.

I tell you, it'll be like Pirates 2. Internet WOM and General Public WOM will differ. I see it beating both of next weeks movie. I'm rather interested in seeing how Ice Age does, because there are about 3 movies out right now that I think its target audience would go to.

No matter how IceAge does in the U.S. it is going to make a killing overseas. The last one made only like $180 million in the US but made like $480 million overseas. I tell you overseas audiences just love sequals. Especially CGI animated sequals and crappy sequals, and while while IceAge 2 wasn't too crappy it definately was CGI animated.

I'm gonna work up a chart to show you how well CGI animated sequals have done. The numbers are mind boggling.

Ok here we go:

Toy Story 2 ----- $239 million (that's 1999 money)
Ice Age 2 ------- $456 million (or about 70% of its money)
Madagascar 2 --- $422 million (again 70.1% of its WW total)
Shrek 2 --------- $478 million (more than TDK and Indy4!)
Shrek 3 --------- $476 million (wow!)
(in no particular order btw)

well here in San Diego its doing very well
I know plenty of people who went to the movies yesterday and couldnt see the movie cause it was completely sold out

How in the hell is it pedophilistic if the girls are of age????

its a case of someone using words they dont know:whatever:

Good point. At first I thought the poster was either a girl who was taking offense or a guy who needed to man up and grow a pair.

Cuz Michael Bay is behind the camera. Plus Michaela's character in the last one was supposed to be in HighSchool. Yeah I know it's not really pedophilistic but seriously. At the very least qualifies for the Barely Legal section.

You do its two years later and the actress really isn't that young in real life.

but we arent talking about the last one we are talking about this one and she was college age

legs can also be due to being entertained....I loved the first one but the story wasnt great and we see how that did.

I remember seeing a couple of 60 to 70 year old people on a subway near the time the Dark Knight was released, taking excitedly about the release of the film. No doubt TF2 will do well, but then will get this crowd into the theater? nah.

Yes it's not pedophilia but something about the fact that Michael Bay could be those girls' father is what seems "pedophilistic" about it.

BTW I didn't even think pedophilistic was a word. I just kinda threw it out there. Does anyone have a confirmation on that? Check Webster's. I think it might not even be a word.
