Sci-Fi Tron: Ares with Jared Leto

Somehow hope there still will be a sequel made.
With the cgi from now, it could become fantastic again.
I don't think the CGI from now is a selling point of getting another Tron movie. CGI from now is not that good unless you're really really dedicated to it (Blade Runner 2049,Dune,Avatar)

And with how Disney makes movies I don't see them allowing Tron that breadth of freedom

Ofcourse the story must be at least good also.
But legacy already had one of the best cgi in years.
It still doesnt look outdated, only the young Bridges stuff.

I'm siding with something happening, Disney invested a good chunk of cash to bring the flagship Tron ride from Shanghai to their renovations at Disney World in Florida for a reason. We'll see, I'm cautiously optimistic.

The issue with CGI isn't "dedication". It the speed in which projects are released and the amount and complexity of CGI in the films. The pandemic and decent union rules have made the time crunch even more of a factor. Also I say this as someone who loves both 2049 and Dune. How impressive is the CGI really? I'm not saying it isn't good, at times it's great, but there is still plenty of obvious moments and the amount of CGI isn't comparable to most Marvel movies. They aren't spending time crafting living beings.

Gonna catch heat for this, but what the hell…

Does this really need a third installment?

Did it even… need a second one, really?

The second was the rare few actually better than the first which wasn’t all great to begin with lol
True, sequel is much better. The first one looks awfull, such heavy outdated visuals.

But this news is not good. It needs the director from Legacy.

...also, if they don't knock it home with Cillian - then it truly isn't worth it.

Need, no really. But it is a universe that looks to be fun to play around in with some really unique visuals.

Someone just really monkey pawed this, though.
