One other upside to this is he’ll finally be forced to shave and get rid of that same stupid pretentious-looking hairstyle and beard he’s seemingly contractually required to have in most of his films for nearly the past 10 years.

I think it was because, at the time, even though it was widely known, it was mostly just rumors and hadn’t really been super confirmed until maybe a few years ago, and really the only thing that had actually been confirmed was his terrible and inappropriate on-set behavior on Suicide Squad and all of those weird “gifts” he shared with the cast and crew, which, as terrible as that is, isn’t really grounds for being arrested (I mean, I think it is, but unfortunately, I don’t think the law works that way). By then, he had been signed on in 2017 to this film, which he was contractually obligated to and wouldn’t have been made without him.

But I agree, the guy’s a certified, grade-A creep and should not have been part of this project in the first place.

McCarthyism forced an environment of secrecy and keeping outsiders out. That is an environment ripe for predators to thrive.

He's also never been a box office draw, which makes it all the more confusing. The only big hit he was in was Suicide Squad and that wasn't a success because of him. His character had a lot to do with it but anyone could have played the Joker and it still would have gotten the same attention.

Depending on how large everyone else’s roles are, I don’t even think they would need to do reshoots.

Just CGI-ing a helmet over his face and dubbing him with a new actor would be so much more cheaper and cost-effective than just reshooting entire sections of the film. Like you said, the character is a program, so he doesn’t need to have his face shown. They can just give him the Rinzler treatment.

The question is which actor should be the one to re-dub all of the voice lines? I’d imagine they probably use this as an opportunity to get somebody who is really popular right now and would draw even more people to theaters.

Maybe since The Fantastic Four: First Steps is coming out soon and will probably be pretty successful at the box office, maybe Joseph Quinn just doing his natural British accent?

Or, if they want to go with the safe and reliable option, Pedro Pascal? Replacing a sexual predator with a bisexual actor would honestly be kind of funny.

If they’re still in the midst of filming MOTU and haven’t finished anything yet, they could always just dub over him with another actor, CG his face if he still recognizable and/or shoot the scenes that require the character that haven’t been filmed yet with a different actor if needed.
