Tron Legacy Sequels

Tron Legacy felt like it ran out of steam for me when Jeff Bridges met his son. Everything before that I really enjoyed but after that the film went a little flat.

What in the world about Tron Legacy and Oblivion makes you think he should do a Star Wars film?

He would definitely make a stunning looking Star Wars film, but the plot and action would be nothing special. I wouldn't mind him handling a SW anthology just to see the result, but i doubt most fans would agree with it.

My main problem with Tron Legacy is that the Grid (or whatever you call it) got smaller and just became one city. The first movie's grid was an actual world within a computer. So that was a misfire.

Also the first film, while it's not perfect, had more of a sense of humor.

And while I did like Olivia Wilde's character, but it's upsetting that they didn't use her properly.

Well, the events of Legacy just took place in one city. There are others. The toon at least showed that.

Because the mans a visionary, plus it being a Star Wars film he'd more than likely be working off a script that wasn't his and probably approved by a committee, which in my opinion is what he needs.

That chase seen in Oblivion is outstanding. The thought of seeing a Kosinski dogfight in the Star Wars universe leaves my mouth watering.

That guy hates everyone so dont even make him understand. Kosinski has great visual taste and sound taste. With a tight script I think he could do a great job with it. Wheadon made 3billion with avengers but I wouldn't want him to make a SW movie. How much money the guy made is irrelevant for me, in that case kubrik probably would have never had a career if you are just going to count the cash. I think if trank was given the chance to do it I don't see why kosinski (with a great script of course) couldn't do it, but will see what goes down

What about what I have written says I hate him? Hate requires passion. I hate Liverpool FC. I don't really have much passion for Kosinski. He made a couple of really flawed movies, that I like.

My fear wouldn't simply be a script, it would be how he goes about tell the story in terms of direction and editing.

I understand Disney investing money in Bird. It makes no sense with Kosinski. His rep has just gotten worse since the first film.

It is a shame. Guy has an eye, but he is a poor storyteller. Like really poor. Knows how to cast though. Especially in terms of female leads.

Yeah please keep Whedon as far away from Star Wars as possible, especially after that lackluster AOU. I still don't understand how Trank got involved with Disney unless it was Kinberg talking him up.

Yeah thats true he is passionate. I have a recent bumps in with him but well I will try to be civilized again and leave the past behind. Thats the healthiness thing I guess

As for wheadon yeah I agree, he is better with his own material than playing with others. And tranks gig is all Kinberg but he already regretted that decision for sure

We're all just here as fans discussing things we love, difference of opinions and all we are a community and should support other whether we agree with one another 100% of the time or not.

Couldn't you say that about the vast majority of directors? Most directors in Hollywood are good enough if they are getting their hand held and are provided with a strong script.

I'm okay if he directed one of the anthology films, but Joseph is a hard read for me. I don't hate him, i don't like him. I don't know what to think of him still.

I enjoyed both of his movies but at the same time, i acknowledge they're fairly empty. I don't know if he can elevate his talents either. I just can't tell!

Yep, it is odd. I like both of his films, yet have real problems with them. It is almost like he gets ideas for cool scenes, and then builds haphazard films around them.

That's probably true. I Liked his aesthetic style a lot in legacy. I think a good eye in visuals is not something you find that often in this business but yeah oblivion was great style but a really bad script so he should leave that to other people

I think he is great with a camera. He definitely has an eye. I just, I don't know, I am big on storytelling and character. Probably why Scorsese is my favorite, though I'd say he is the total package.

Legacy I thought was good and the only thing holding it back from being great was the weak 3rd act. I was hoping to see where they would go but I guess disney got cold feet at the possoibilty of ot bombing. I also noticed alot of people when it came out didnt quite get of understand the story even though they saw the original.

I was absolutely delighted by the news that Tron 3 was cancelled. A travesty prevented for all.

I like everyone else went to watch Tron Legacy in IMAX bolstered by the cool visuals and the fantastic score by Daft Punk. And I witnessed quite possibly one of the worst blockbusters I had ever witnessed. I gave it zero stars in my review. Absolutely no redeeming qualities, horrible direction, the most atrocious script in tent pole cinema, horrid acting, and just plain misguided and misbegotten and badly and terribly conceived. I thought it was bad on a unprecedented scale. Hence my delight at the cancellation of the sequel.

All this is of course, just my humble opinion.

I thought Tron Legacy was pretty solid and I was kind of looking forward to another one. It wasn't great or anything but it was entertaining enough for me. Not the greatest story ever and Garrett Hedlund was alittle bland but I loved the visuals of the movie and Olivia Wilde's character was cool, though alittle underdeveloped.

It was just a solid little movie to me and I was kind of interested in where they would go with it so I'm alittle disappointed it's not going to happen.

well its on 21 thousand now, its doing pretty good. I dont know if will make any difference but its better to show that THERE is interest in the project, than 0 reaction at all

And i think that review of Legacy is way to harsh. Its not the best blockbuster ever but certianly not the worst, but well everyone has their own taste
