Sci-Fi Tron Legacy - v2.0

I didn't like young flynn in the normal world (His face looked straight our of the Polar Express), but in the Grid it wasn't as bad to me.

He looked fine for the most part. How he looks has to do a lot with lighting. He looked just like real Bridges when he first meets Sam in the Grid (mouth perks aside) but looked very CGI when fully lit while trying to get the disc back from Quorra, right before merging with Flynn.

Yeah, I did notice they played a lot with the lightening in some areas to make it look better, but I must've seen a different movie from some others, because it looked pretty bad to me even when they played with the lighting in the Grid.

So Reconfigured leaked. It's mind numbing, brutal, and nothing short of amazing. The album is incredible.

Indeed! I just got done with it, its f***** incredible!

What a dumb article. First of all, the setup in the real world also served as thematic exposition for the issues raised in the movie, namely, that of the use of information, and was also cool as hell. You also need to establish your main character, and Sam just digitizing into the Grid right away would've been bizarre. Sam's moody drive through the streets accompanied by DP music is one of my favorite parts of the movie, too :o

Yeah, I really liked the real world parts too, they were a good set-up for what come later and also explained how Sam was so good at the games once he got into the digitized world, also, seeing Cillian Murphy in a cool cameo was awesome.

Regarding Flynn...I thought he worked just fine. If memory serves, he only had about one "long" speech in the film during dinner, laying out the backstory. Again, It's actually one of my favorite parts of the movie, where we see why Clu turns on Flynn and Tron being a badass. Maybe I'm a fairy boy, but I got kinda emotional during that scene. And I don't know if this guy was paying attention, but the ISO's, if there were a Tron 3, should play a significant role in the movie, as this kind of technicalities are needed, they can't just be called "the magic beings".

The only part that confused me about the flashbacks were how easily Clu tackled Tron, Tron literally lasted seconds against him.

Reconfigured is amazing. I loved the sountrack to begin with, but all those remixes are actually brilliant too. The Crystal Method one is my fave.

As for the CGI CLU? Yea he was pretty bad. But there is one scene where i thought it was good, when Sam first meets him where he thinks he is Flynn. I wouldn't be able to tell that was CGI if i didn't already know it was CGI there.

The worst part was his speech near the end though. That was friggin creepy as hell.

i actually thought that was cool cuz it gave him more emotions and it wasnt just his lips moving. you saw his eyes open and his mouth too. all complaining aside i still liked it, its just got some getting used to

see, not being a fan of the original film, but a fan to this film, and it being called tron, and this tron guy showing up and barely being in this film confuses me cuz why is the film called tron if its about flynn?

Allow me to explain. Despite the film being named after him, Tron himself was NEVER the main character, not even in the FIRST movie. In actuality, Kevin Flynn and, in this movie his son Sam, were. He was one of the more important characters in terms of the mythology, but he was just your usual hero figure. Unlike characters like Luke Skywalker or Harry Potter, however, he never really had any kind of backstory or even much of a background to him, but it didn't matter because he was just a soldier who, as was said about him, fought for the "Users", in this case Kevin Flynn. The story was NEVER about Tron to begin with: it was about the "Users", the people who unknowingly created this word and one day find themselves into this vast, beautiful realm where they are considered gods. That's the purpose of the series so far.

Yeah, Tron was a security program from the beginning to help manage the servers without the MCP being involved.

I guess I have a poor eye for CGI, but I thought the CG used for CLU was really good. Eh, what do I know?

The only part of CLU (and young Flynn) that grated on me was the smile that they gave him - to me it almost seemed as if they over-emphasized Bridges smile it to the point that it looked off. It looked goofy.

Apart from that, I thought it was amazing - the skin texture, the eyes, the hair.

Amazing.

People rant to much about CLU/de-aged Bridges, from a technological standpoint it is still one of the best works considering were talking about de-aging an actual human being on screen, which is one of the most problematic tasks even with CGI.

I thought the smile was okay, it was only when he spoke that it really became obvious to me, his mouth opened far too wide, especially when he shouted, but other then that it was still pretty damn good in my eyes.

The Reconfigured album is too banging for words. I can't stop listening to Fall!

CG Jeff Bridges was fine I thought. It certainly wasn't as distracting as some people make out. I can't wait to see the film again, twice in the cinema was not enough!

I just checked out Reconfigured. DAMN it's good. I'll be picking it up for sure when it comes out

My favorites tracks on that remix album are Derezzed by The Glitch Mob, Fall by M83 vs. Big Black Delta, C.L.U. by Paul Oakenfold, and Rinzler by Kaskade.

Oh btw, I just preordered the 5 disc Tron Legacy/Original Tron bluray! :woot:

Love those tracks. It's kinda hard now to go back to the original album strangely enough.

Did you order the version with the light disc? :woot:

Yeah same here, but I think once I get tired of listening to the remix album ill have the old album to fall back on.

I'm not really into club/house music really (love it in an actual club, but outside...not so much) but this album is really easy to listen too.

I'd probably go for the disc if I was in America, but that's because I love those sorts of things. There's a special edition in the UK, but it's nowhere near as good:

I'll settle for the double set with both films.

Wish you could pick and choose what you got with that 5 disc. All I really want is Tron: Legacy on Blu Ray and the Original Tron on Blu Ray. I have no need for a DVD copy or a 3D copy or the Digital Copy. Oh well guess I'll just buy em separate

whoa...wait a sec! there's a remix album of the Tron soundtrack? :wow:

where the hell have i been??
