Sci-Fi Tron Legacy - v2.0

I saw this recently and enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. I give it an 8/10

Ok I just read that little exhange and this forum is f***ing disintegrating

So I'll jump in. Anyone else pick up the remixed soundtrack?

On the third viewing I noticed something---Sam lives in Dumont's garage.

For those who don't know or remember, Dumont is the old guy from the first film who started Encom...ba da bing...in his garage.

I did. ****ing love the thing!!

I did, along with the BD/DVD 2-pack of Tron and Tron: Legacy.
I only paid $33 for both films, as Target was having a sale.

Each 2 pack was $19.99, and if you bought the original film
in the 2 pack, you received an additional $8 off Legacy.

So all in all, I saved $28 :woot:

Plus the remixed soundtrack was on sale for $13.

I had a $10 coupon at Best Buy so I got the remixed soundtrack for $4

Hey has any sales figures come in yet for dvd/bluray sets.

How does Quorra survive outside of cyberspace? Wonder if she comes with all the right software?:D If her & Sam even tried to have sex wouldn't she just break apart?

I hope that if they make a sequel they talk about what makes cyber-characters in the real world different. In Legacy they acted like CLU entering the real world would be a major threat to all mankind; but unless cyber characters have some kind of special abilities (similar to how users have powers in the digital world) I don't see CLU's army standing much of a chance against our world's modern military.

Clu was a threat because he was set to escape the confines of the TRON system with a million or so programs. Sure, there's a 'conventional' warfare angle where those forces go piling out into the world as subservient people, but imagine what they could achieve if all they had to do was secure one internet connection and the digitizing laser. If Clu could gain control of the net, he could soon control every system that was plugged in.

That's why Flynn hid in the Outlands for a thousand cycles. The risk of Clu getting out and 'perfecting' everything was too great, plus he'd already glimpsed such a power grab from the MCP in 1982.

One thing which did confuse was how Qurra was able to form in the real world, if she is a computer program how can she become finite in the real world? I wish they would have explained that in the movie.

For £17.99 I could have bought the Tron and Tron Legacy double pack. For £8.99 I could have bought the soundtrack, whichI actually already have. For £4.63 I could have bought the Betrayal comic. Which comes to what, about £31?

So the U.K Play.com exclusive set I bought is nothing more than a £40 cardboard box. They made a cardboard box and slapped --/1,000 onto it and charged a moronic price.

And I now feel like a complete idiot for buying it. I could have bought the Scream Trilogy with the double pack if I had cancelled this rubbish. :/

The infos on the wiki page about ISO were also told in the movie by Kevin Flynn.

My thoughts exactly. I was traveling and missed the theatrical release, but I was somewhat skeptical. I just saw this a couple of weeks ago, and greatly enjoyed it.

I still don't understand how people didn't understand the ISO's...I thought it was pretty well explained in the film to be honest.

Just picked up the 2-pack with both Tron and Tron: Legacy, although it was quite hard to find around my parts. The remix soundtrack should hopefully arrive tomorrow or the day after, so I'm gonna be pretty Tronned-out by the end of the week!

On a side note, did anyone else buy the tie-in game? It was actually suprisingly fun, not the shoddy, effort-less game I was expecting. I'd recommend it if you can find it cheap, the multiplayer light-cycle battles make it worth it!

i brought the game. it shows more of thr fight between tron and clu before tron loses and shows how kevin found quorra. its a decent game. the multiplayer was more fun than i thought it would be

How so? The birth of the ISOs provided one of the pivotal events that set the stage for the story.

Explained...where and how? This is what I remember: Flynn raving that they were going to change everything, music, science, religion, medicine...Clu went berserk and purged them all and during that time Flynn fled to the Outlands...and holy crap Quorra is an ISO!! I honestly can't remember any explanation beyond that.

You've left out the exposition from the scene where Flynn repairs Quorra's damaged code, which is a pretty major part to leave out. :woot:
