Tron Legacy - v2.0

I think they made the right call in focusing on the father/son dynamic as it made it easier for the general audience to connect with the movie, but if they were going to go the route of having Tron turn out to be the evil Rinzler then there needed to be a stronger scene between him and Flynn that led to him turning back IMO.

The double discs were all that seperasted him which was a shame as his intial potential to be unique should have remained in tact.

This is a pretty cool statue of him that Sideshow have up for pre-order.

I loved Rinzler/Tron in the movie and though his turn back was sudden, I loved the scene, especially when he turned back blue while sinking. I wish him and Clu would have had a bigger showdown at the end as well but I guess the main issue was Clu and Flynn.

If we do get a sequel I hope Tron has a bigger role to play.

Nice to hear you liked it Hunter, I don't know the Tron films was always about Kevin Flynn. Tron was the device that he needed to get back at the company. There's a reason why it's called Tron: Legacy and not Tron Legacy. It was the legacy of Flynn not Tron.

It's funny but going in not having seen the original I wasn't sure if Tron was a character or the program Bridges was trapped in lol. I agree about the story focus and it worked well, I was just saying they should have kept Rinzler's look unique, and if they were gonna do the twist of him being a corrupted Tron, there needed to be a pivot scene for his turn to come from in the finale IMO.

I suppose, as for the uniqueness of Tron I think it was pretty unique. The T symbol was pretty obvious that it was him as oppose to CLU's other henchmen.

But ill say I almost got Rinzler/Tron confused with the Black Guard.

^Have to agree, first time I saw that scene I thought Rinzler was in there and he was killed by Zeus, I was really dissapointed at the time but then we see him later on tracking the Flynn's.

It wasnt very helpful to people like me who hadnt seen the first movie in a LONG time and i'm sure there were plenty out there.

I have to say that I still listen to the soundtrack and the remix soundtrack to this day.

The Overture track specifically is so grand and amazing. It's up there with the best imo.

Man I love the soundtrack for this, I have it on my mp3 and listen to it all the time.

It may not be as cult as Tron was in later years, but the art design and direction will be ingrained in peoples' minds.

I think Tron Legacy might go on to become a cult classic too if the sequel doesn't come out anytime soon.

the overture is the definition of epic. i dont know why but i have a modern opening of Superman in my head when i listen to this song.

Maybe this is just me, but when I hear the Outlands track it reminds me of the score for Batman '89. Seems as though it would have fitted right in there. But my fave tracks are probably Fall and Adagio for Tron.

I agree. I do like the movie, but yea, the soundtrack is just amazing. It elevates the whole thing. One of the best scores ever.

Listening to the Tron: Legacy soundtrack is like having a spiritual experience. You get this feeling of euphoria that you cannot put into words, but you don't care because it's so absolutely amazing.

I get that feeling specifically with Son of Flynn. It's a great track to dive with.

I dont actually have the sound-track but it was amazing in the movie, it really does elevate the movie beyond what it could have been. IF, there is a sequel, I really hope DP come back to do the soundtrack again.

I think Kozinski's first effort was pretty good, he's still finding his footing. He doesn't have a definite style, but it'll come.

^He just needs to work on his story-telling a bit is all I think, visually and casting wise he seems pretty damn good already. I can see another Tron movie being better than Legacy personally. Looking forward to Oblivion also.

Oh yeah, he's got Oblivion. Should be pretty cool.

And I also think it's kinda "necessary" for Daft Punk to come back if there's a sequel!

I just saw this for the first time and have to say it's one of the worst Disney movies ever made. The original film is much worse, but this is a 4/10. It's just an adaption of the video game Tron 2.0 nothing else.
