It will probably do well in video. But I still sure disney probably will do another.

All I can say is the teaser rumors better not be bogus or someone will get hurt.

So, the academy nominations are out... and Tron got snubbed in all but one category; Sound Editing. No Visual Effects? No Soundtrack? I can understand story criticism's, but that's an insult to everyone who worked on this film!

Visual Effects and Soundtrack I thought was a lock in for a nod, I guess not :csad:

To me the score was great but I was very doubtful it would get nominated. But I thought it at least had a chance for VFX.

^ I agree, don't get me wrong, it's a good movie but to me it wasn't a clear for a lock in any nominations, maybe besides best vfx and even for that it didn't get nominated.

And Hereafter gets in for VFX? :funny:

I'm more miffed about Daft Punk's snub than I am about Nolan's, frankly. A lot of my friends went to see Tron just because of Daft Punk! :funny:

It's pretty much the same for me, Daft Punk was a major reason of seeing the movie since it's one of my favorite artists (that is beside it being a sequel to Tron ofc) but I wasn't surprised it didn't get nominated, academy members is never really into electronic score but then again The Social Network got nominated, probably because it won a lot critics award and I guess the golden globe win helps.

Are you kidding me? Hereafter gets a VFX nom but not Tron: Legacy?

Oh my goodness. Is all I can muster up.

It really is disheartening.But it's the academy.It's what's expected.

The tron soundtrack includes sampre existing music i heard, so it would be disqualified on those grounds.

Least thats what i heard.

Edit-That said Inception is up and that contains 'No regrets'

A lot of Social Network is lifted from Trent Reznor's previous work. So that's not it either. :funny:

How dare those experienced professionals make informed judgements in their field of expertise when Superher Hype members, with no experience whatsoever, have their own personal favourites to consider! It's a travesty!!!

:hehe:

"No Regrets" isn't part of Inception's score, though.

Batman Begins wasn't a domestic success either... it had a 150mil budget and a 200mil domestic gross - worldwide it had 370mil. For Tron Legacy we're looking at a 170mil budget, it will probably end with just over a 170mil domestic gross - worldwide it should pass 340mil (it only just opened in many European countries - still to open in a few Asian countries - and it's already passed the domestic gross. It's making a lot and picking up quickly worldwide).

In terms of both of those films, neither of them are domestic successes, but worldwide they are both successes. If Tron 3 can do what The Dark Knight did (lots of foreign advertising and a **** tone of domestic advertising and promos) I see it becoming a domestic blockbuster (not to the extent of The Dark Knight... but it'll double it's budget none-the-less).

i meant Batman Begins was hgue on DVD.

and i bet my life that Tron 2 was at least 80 mil more expensive then BB.
You owe me your life. :yay:

i guess BB was not a success since WB didnt want to do the sequel . the positive reaction with the DVD changed everything. and they got more positive reviews from critics and public.
So there's still a chance.
