I don't understand where the "Hayden Christiansen" comments are coming from.

Star Wars PT ( standing for Pre Trilogy AND Post Traumatic ) Syndrome.
A lot of people blame Hayden's acting for the the poor scripts and lack of actors direction from Lucas.

Hayden's acting was terrible though. Lucas just took his lack of skill and turned it into something legendary.

Seriously, get the good writers to start the script from scratch. They can only elevate a mediocre plot so much. I really hope that his intel isn't accurate though.

I think it’s too soon to make any assumptions about the film based on this e-mailed intel.

nostalgia aside, the first film (at least from an acting standpoint) is hardly high theater

i think the problem is that people expect a complex story from an expensive movei over 200 mill.dont say Nolan. because Nolan gave WB TDK BO. Kosinsky is new.

it looks like a simple story where a son is searching hes father.

since the son is the first time in tron world they will explain everything. by explaining everythign to Sam it will be explained the the viewer. so no BS that you need to watch the first movie to understand the story from Legacy.

the movie is of course a blockbuster in 3D so of course they will have a moneyshot every5 minutes.

yea plus we dont know where this news came frome. Since its second hand information. could be someone messing with folks. Cause from all the stuff released and stuff like tron night and set visits folks been saying all good things about the film itself. so something seems fishy with this.

I don't know if it's fake or not, but I remember some *****ebag posting online that he saw Inception a month or two before it came out and denounced the whole thing as horrible. That was clearly just someone trying to stir up trouble (or just a guy with really bad taste) but regardless, it still got a few people worried. Let's just wait and see how this thing turns out. I remember reading that Bridges said that he would only do a Tron sequel if the script was there. And his track record as of late has been pretty good, so I think he would know if he signed onto a clunker.

Yeah, that's always a concern. Sometimes though, I think someone should step in. Take The Matrix Reloaded. I can't believe WB let that film out of the gate the way it was made. Did they not understand the concept of pacing? Couldn't they see that the film was tedious as hell, chock full of overlong action sequences that went nowhere and laughably pretentious dialogue?

I have faith with the director, all the interviews ive seen with him shows that he's taking this movie very serious.

To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if the movie did turn out the way the e-mail says it well. There is a Matrix Reloaded vibe about it. But I wont judge until I see the movie.

I don't see this as a Matrix Reloaded situation at all. Terminator Salvation seems more apt. That one looked pretty in the trailers but fell apart when it came to story. Plus that also was trying to reinvent an old franchise and start a new series with it. Not to mention they had a mediocre script and thought they could fix it by hiring good people after the fact. I hope thats not the case here but it might be.

I really hope my pessimism isn't warranted because I want to enjoy this movie just like I wanted to enjoy Terminator Salvation. I like the world of Tron and I think it has a lot of possibility. I'm worried this will follow the same outcome as the first Tron in the 80s and remain a geek thing.

Well when I said that I was referring more to the fact that Matrix Reloaded was very ambitious on the effects side of things, but emotionally cold. I wasn't talking about story structure or having exact parallels with real life.

Anyone else find the costumes uninspired? Everyone looks like they're wearing regular futuristic clothes. In the original Tron everyone looked like living diodes.
