Oh wow I didnt even notice. Oh well by then i gave up hope on the film.

So i think im going to rent the first one, It sounds cool enough.

Tron with robots, ninjas, lightcycles, hot chicks, lasers, Jeff Bridges, Cyber Cities and Daft Punk? Throw in a dinasour and a Christopher Walken camero and you have the best movie ever!

Well played Disney, well played.

Oh, and will Tron actually be in the movie since it's kinda' named after him?

Is this Jeff Bridges?

Damn. Very realistic face.
I'm calling it now. 200 million budget. :woot:

After watching the trailer a few more times, I realize that it's not 2 lightcycles spinning around with the tires smoking... it's a friggin' car!

The films look seems like it was really influenced by the matrix. I have no problem with that though because it looks absolutely GORGEOUS. Can't wait to see this in imax 3D.

The only similarity I see is the black leather. I haven't seen too much of the original film, but this looks to be a more slicker and modern rendition of what was seen there.

Really ? Can you give an example because I didn't saw any similarity.

The cyberpunk look, the dark colors coupled with neon bright colors. The cold and dark atmosphere. Even Flynn's arcade kind of reminds me of the hotel at the opening scene of the matrix.

Btw, I'm not saying its not original. I just see a few things that remind me of the matrix...it still looks really original and cool

the abandoned arcade kinda has a Matrix vibe, but i don't get that with anything else. cyberpunk and dark colors aren't exclusive to the Matrix...and neon has always been a Tron trademark (don't remember Matrix using much neon).

imo, most everything here is original and about the only thing they're really drawing inspiration from is...appropriately, the original Tron.

That could just as easily describe Blade Runner or many other science fiction films.

The new world makes the world of the orignal Tron was positively medieval in comparison.

In regards to the updated look, I really think this is where the genius of the premise shines - the computer world's look has evolved and become more advanced, just as computer technology in the real world has also (and, ironically, the special fx used to create such worlds); all they have to do is retain some things to make things seem familiar, otherwise pretty much anything goes, design wise.

Say, a funny thing has just struck me, I wonder if Michael Sheen's character, obviously being some sort of muscial performer, is styled in white like he's an iPod program or something?

i wonder if the glowing lines on the suit are CGI or did they found a way to have a light source that is not based on little lights.

i guess the glow was done with computers.

Socks officialy blown off. That trailer was all kinds of kick-ass. Loving the look and feel of the world. Adoring Olivia Wilde. Giggling at Michael Sheen, who looks like he's channeling a little bit of a certain Mr. Bowie. Sure, it could of been a little longer, and Jeff Bridge's should of featured more prominently, but beggars cant be choosers right? I'm even more pumped than I was, you could pop me with a balloon.

For a teaser, it was perfect. Can't wait for the full trailer. Although, maybe I don't want to watch the full trailer and just let the movie melt my brain. :D

If it was done with CG, you can bet it was easier than how they did it on the original film. Werent the lights painstakingly rotoscoped onto every frame by hand?

Ouch.

and its very similar to the shot of the tumbler from the TDK trailer. :hehe:

i think yes. like the lightsabers.

if they found a way to create a matte that ignores the set lights then it was easy. but its no problem for 2010.

Too bad the newer suits don't look like the originals, I'm hoping there's an explanation as to why Flynn is suddenly a bad guy.

Who knows, maybe the Flynn face caracter isn't Flynn, I don't have a Clu :)
