I've seen Hedlund in two movies, and he's drastically different from one to the next. He's the quintessential "baby brother" in Four Brothers, but he's pretty damn menacing in Death Sentence, where he's playing a gang leader. He's definitely got some range and presence about him.

i would say Blur Studios did that... but then again E3 had a 5min star wars cinematic by them.. so i doubt they did them both

Damn i just found out that Green Hornet will be released in IMAX 3-d in Jan 2011.
Chances of Tron Legacy becoming a huge BO success are starting to decrease.

I don't expect Tron legacy to be a 750 million grossing movie a la Avatar though i had expected it to make between 300-400 million domestic ...maybe even going over 400 million.
And that's all because of the visuals in 3-d. But unlike Avatar or even Alice in Wonderland , competition for 3-d and IMAX screens is going to be fierce.

A comparison. When Avatar came out it had all the 3d and IMAX screen to itself from dec 09 to march 2010. After that it lost all the IMAX screens to Alice in Wonder and a good portion of the it's 3-d screens.
Alice In Wonderland had all the IMAX screens from March 2010 till April 2010.

Tron Legacy will have IMAX screens from dec 2010 till Jan 2011
But when it comes to 3-d screens it'll face competion from
1 the 3rd narnia movie
2 Yogi Bear
3 Gulliver travels

All in December.

Granted all of the above movies are aiming at families with kids whereas Tron Legacy is going for the male crowd .

well Tron Legacy has the bigger buzz out of all the other 3D movies in December and I doubt Green Hornet will be a big force seeing how everyone has lost interest in that movie. Tron Legacy will do well in the B.O.
not as good as Avatar's B.O. numbers but It looks to be around $300+ when everything is counted for

Tron's buzz has started since ít's debut at CC 2008.
But now the other movies will start their promotions. The trailer for the 3rd Narnia movie was released yesterday and i wouldn't be surprised to see the the other movie being promoted heavily in the upcoming months.

I think if everything works out well , it may gross as much as Alice In Wonderland did in the states. International will be a different thing because i have absolutely no idea how it'lll do there.
To be honest , Disney is focusing their marketing in the states because i haven't seen anything of Tron Legacy here in Holland. Hell promotion for Alice In Wonderland also started well advance here.

Like i said in my earlier post. Unlike Avatar which had all the 3-d and IMAX screens to itself for 3 months , Tron will only be shown in IMAX theaters for a month and will compete for the 3-d screens with 3 other movies.
Buzz on Tron is definately stronger then Hornet but i'm looking at screens here. Having more movies competing for the screens will definately dampen Tron's BO success.
Hell the same happened with Avatar when Alice In Wonderland came on board. Despite the fact that the movie is the highest grossing movie of all time , it could made another 50 million or so if AIW hadn't opened.

I think he just means that Hornet is going to steal some of the 3D theaters from Tron Legacy. Which is true kind of hurts 3D movies when they are released close together

yea that is the problem with idiot studios doing 3d releases. They all need to work together and have each film that is to be 3d to at least each film at a solid 2 months to use the bulk of 3d/imax screens.

last news i heard of Green Hornet was that the executives saw some of the footage and thought that Seth Rogen looked nothing like him, were disappointed with the production, and were thinking about pulling the plug. if that's true then that can't bode will for Green Hornet and Tron Legacy has nothing to worry about.

No studio is going to that. Because then you might as well ditch the 3-d releases entirely. The problem is that there are just too many movies released close together. Studios know that family movies do well during holiday seasons and with added 3-d prices , they know they make more $$$.
Look at how Toy Story 3 is doing. PIXAR and Disney have been very smart in releasing TS3 with Father's Day.

Tron and Green Hornet are being released a month apart. If it bombs, it won't be because of Tron.

I'm not expecting Avatar numbers. And i think everyone who is expecting the same is delusional. Like i've said in m earlier post . Part of the success of Avatar is because it had all 3-d screens to itself and IMAX screens.
TRon on the other hand will be facing competition for 3 family flicks in december ( all in 3-d) as well as losing it's IMAX screens in Jan when it'll compete with Hornet ( also a 3-d movie).
I was hoping for Tron to hit 400 million domestic but now it looks like the movie will gross between 300-350 million. Very respectable IMO but no near what it should make.

Considering that they movie is being made since 2008 , i had expected Disney to release the movie at the same time in all markets. Instead they're spreading it .
