I don't want to watch it, it might spoil the movie for me. Plus I don't want to be disappointed in seeing the really bad CG Clu 2.

EDIT: Ok I watched it. :p Yeah Clu 2 looked good, I gree the mouth and eye brows stretched to much, but the eyes, skin, lighting and hair all looked damn impressive.

It's not bad per se; it's just the mouth animation looks a little off and its distracting.

The rest of him is perfect.

I think the footage looks fine. I don't see any problems in it at all.

We could consider that the trailer uses an alternate take for the dialogue (a common practice), but since it's a CGI creation there is no actual footage for that take so they dubbed it. Because lip syncing is basic animation.

Or it could just be a poor instance of SFX.

well considering clu is a computer program i wouldn't expect him to have 100% real life human reactions.... ie. his mouth movements

for cgi its the best human character i've ever seen

See I'd be totally down with that explaination, but what if its equally bad in the flashback scenes? when hes just the real young Jeff Bridges?

I think the flashback scenes will be brief and wont show actual dialogue

I don't like the direction this is taking, it's way to sexuallized, generic and doesn't have the style of the original Tron IMO. The soundtrack sounds pretty good so far though.

The hot girls and the game announcer (Michael Sheen) are all computer programs as well. So the argument that well Clu is a program doesn't suffice, since everyone else besides Sam and Flynn are all programs too.

Clu 2 looks really good but there still is that artificial element. I don't mind it with Clu though because he is a program (just like I didn't mind TS's Arnold since he's still an artificial robot). At least I can justify it in my head, but seeing that flashback just made me think "Gee, he has a CGI dad." Didn't help to see it right before the actual footage of a young Jeff Bridges.

The trailer still looks amazing though.

Well for what it's worth, when I first saw the Comic Con trailer I knew nothing about this movie and the Clu scenes completely fooled me.

"Tron: Legacy" Spoilers:

ENCOM CEO Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges) creates a digital clone of himself called CLU to work alongside Tron in developing a new Grid to hold the digital world. CLU can reformat programs and is programmed to make the Grid perfect.

Eventually, new programs, the ISOs, that are not created by Users and are actually alive, are born. CLU views them as a virus and plans to destroy them, but Kevin and Tron see them as the next step of the digital evolution and attempt to prevent CLU from destroying them. In the process, CLU reformats Tron as his second-in-command, Rizzler, and Kevin is trapped inside the digital world, leaving his 12-year-old son Sam alone.

Kevin has developed a program, contained within a disc, that'd allow programs to leave the digital world and come to the real world. CLU wants the disc in order to use the program to invade Earth alongside his army of reformated programs, destroy the humanity, whom he also views as a virus, and take over the world. However, Kevin manages to stay hidden with the aid of the ISOs.

15 years later, CLU sends a page to Alan Bradley (Bruce Boxleitner) from Flynn's Arcade, planning to lure someone close to Kevin there in order for him to digitalize this person and take him/her as a hostage to force Kevin to come out of hiding and turn in the disc.

Sam, now a rebellious 27-year-old computer expert, decides to investigate the origin of the page and is taken to the digital world, where he is forced by CLU to compet against Rizzler, but is saved by Quorra (Olivia Wilde), a ISO that takes him to Kevin, finally reuniting father and son.

Sam and Quorra slowly fall in love and them and Kevin plan to escape the digital world. However, they must do so before the portal opened by the Laser closes, as Kevin has programmed it to only be capable of being opened from the outside and for a limited period of time in order to prevent CLU from reaching our world.

They are helped by Castor (Michael Sheen), a ISO that runs the End of the Line Club in Tron City, the center of the digital world. However, Castor betrays them by telling CLU their location.

Now, the trio must find a way to reach the access point to the real world while being pursued by CLU, Rizzler and their soldiers.

God, this movie looks so ****ing good. :wow::up:

That new younger digital Bridges looks bad. I'm not gonna lie.

I hope this movie is good. I want to see it, but I have a feeling while this movie will look great visually, it will disapoint. I just hope it's not another TS or anything.

the writers from PIXAR helped with the script, so I doubt it will be another TS

That's reassurring then. The editing in the tv spots must put me off or something. I love the visuals, but how they edited the dialogue in makes it seem kind of cheesy.

i have all the Tron Legacy scans of this magazine.
if you want the scans send me a PM.:yay:

Jonathon Nolan helped with the Terminator Salvation script. :cwink:

Not that I'm saying that I think this is going to be bad, but more writers kind of makes me more nervous then assured.

Just out of curiosity, is Tron in this at all? The guy seems to get shafted pretty bad in his movies despite them being named after him. They resurrected Clu but I guess that's just as an excuse for more Jeff Bridges.
