I am just disappointed and frustrated by the fanboys that stated that the Hulk needs to be a conversationist to feel sympathy towards the big guy and by that fact that they have no problem with accidentally killing some puny human.
From TIH #447-#454, He did rarely give out a paragraph but instead, he said one singlar sentences and maybe two sentences. Sheesh. This is the freakin' Hulk that we are talking about here, people. Not Doomday or Swamp Thing or the Thing. THE INCREDIBLE HULK!!!!!!!!!!!!

C'om on, guys! He is not Doomsday or Mr. Hyde when it comes to killing. The Hulk is an established non lethal hero and unlike the Toxic Avenger who kiills on a regular basis. Villains...... Yes, I grant you but the Toxic Avenger slaughters his oppoments. The Hulk often shows mercy towards the villains and the humans both. It is possible that Norton likes the Ultimate Hulk version and put him into the first draft of the scrpt.
Norton is listening folks. Calm down until see whar is presented on screen.

He is Mr. Hyde!

I think I see what you're trying to say, but Hulk is a story of Jekyll and Hyde- that's how Stan Lee always envisioned it and states that as reference in several interviews for the double persona of Banner and Hulk.

I don't like either of those angles. For me he should talk and he shouldn't kill.

There have been other runs where he hasn't said anything at all (when rendered effectively mindless), but take a look at those numbers...447 to 454. You are talking about 7 issues from over 4 hundred (closer to 600 when adding volume 3). Including those other instances we are looking at around 2 dozen (give or take) 'speechless' issues - about 2 years worth from well over 40.
As such a no talking Hulk is very much the exception rather than the rule, so justifying a no talking Hulk with that exception would be like giving Superman a new suit and electro style powers and justifying it because of his brief 'blue' or 'red' costumed phases.
I doubt any superman fans would want a movie based on that, and we shouldn't embrace anything similar here.

Agree that Hulk shouldn't kill, though as Tempest19 states, Stan Lee did always intend for him to be an atomic age Hyde.
I Hope to hell Norton isn't overly influenced by the Ultimate version and also hope our voices are or have been listened to.

Also have to say though, I've heard the 'wait and see' line before after dis-liked news was leaked. Even said it myself once or twice. Later found that waiting and seeing only confirmed the news was true.

I agree with you wholeheartedly, Wobbly, and that's why I wrote this thread. To express my frustration over this "Hulk is a killer and can't talk without sounding ridicilous" debate.

I was making point that the Hulk isn't as brutal and melicious as Edward Hyde is. Yes. The Hulk is an atomic age Mr. Hyde but Hyde is Henry Jekyll's dark murderous and monstrous side that murders on a whim. The Hulk is not like that. He simply doesn't kill intentionally or unintentionally period. Only time that the Hulk has killed assumely was when he wasn't hampered Banner's humanity (TIH #297 to #300 and TIH #315 to #322)..
People want just overstate how similar the Hulk is to Edward Hyde which it implies the Hulk is as murderous as Hyde is.

I simply will say this. The movie being made is one person's view on the subject. However he decides to paint this picture, we as fans should take it in and enjoy it. The only thing we can do is sit back and watch it and hopefully do just that. You guys never state how over the years different artists draw the Hulk. Not all of them are good, as I have collected comics for over 30 years. Everybody has a different style and will not please everyone, period. Neither will this movie. People will find this or that to whine about. I think I will go into a semi retirement from these type of threads. I will no longer engage in these dicussions because they are fruitless and become confrontational. That being said I'm done. I will only post stuff not open to debate. I have shared stuff I didnt have to and while some were grateful, others have been mindless and stupid. I'm out.

Why should we sit back and enjoy something we dont like or agree with? Are you serious?
