Two-Part Batman: The Long Halloween Animated film possibly in the works?!

This website leaked a bunch of DC Animated movie news and has gotten it right every step of the way. Their voice casts for HUSH and RED SON were spot on months before the announcements.

This is accurate and Ackles could very well be the Bat. He even dressed up as Batman last Halloween and used the hashtag of 'The Long Halloween'.

I wonder then if Naya Rivera had voiced her lines before she passed away earlier this summer.

I would say so. The initial records for these movies are anywhere from a year and a half to two years before release.

ill be interested to see what type of animation they use

This is old but I have to say....how the hell is his cowl better then the ones we've seen on Batwoman and Titans?

Gotta show me these damn character designs already.

I don’t think we will be getting Tim Sale like designs... sadly.

I feel like that book’s look is so idiosyncratic that they’d be shooting themselves in the foot not to do it in his style. Like, yeah, there are some movies that I’ve wished looked more like the comics (Death/Return of Superman, Hush) but none that diverge from the norm as much as The Long Halloween.

I imagine some designs being especially difficult to animate. Hopefully they'll try to balance practicality with being faithful to the spirit of the art style.

They'll no doubt do what they did with The Killing Joke and try to find a happy medium.

I never cared for Sale's Catwoman anyway, so I wouldn't mind if they augmented her costume.

Tim Sale is amazing and his work is begging to be animated but it would need some tweaks (poison Ivy being the major one). I just think they’ll do the current new style for the DCAU films and they’ll sprinkle in some tiny bits of Tim Sale into it. We will find out when the JSA dvd is out.

We usually get the cast and crew article a few days before the sneak peek drops on digital (April 27th), so not long to go now.

At the recent WonderCon panel for Justice Society: World War II, Butch Lukic stated that the new art style for these movies (by Otto Schmidt, Jon Suzuki, Dusty Abell) was initially developed for Batman: The Long Halloween. Unfortunately, the two parter was pushed back and the style was introduced to audiences in Superman: Man of Tomorrow instead.

He also goes on to say that this movie has a unique 40's look to it. Hopefully now most people won't be too disappointed that it doesn't look exactly like Tim Sale's drawings when the first look drops.

I won't be disappointed that it doesn't look like Tim Sale's artwork.

Instead I'll be disappointed at how it looks like Superman: Man of Tomorrow lol. :(

I like the new art style too but Tim Sale’s art would be an easy translation to animation, I agree it would be a mistake not to emulate the comic. What initially drew me to his art was actually how much it reminded me of BTAS.

I like the new art style, but not for Long Halloween, Sale's artwork is too unique for it not to be emulated, yet they aren't even going to try. They're making a mistake.

They just aren't given the budget or time to experiment anymore. A shame, but it is what it is.

I definitely want the Tim sale style, I just like the new art compared to the resused designs they kept giving us for every feature. But this is one where they need to adapt the artist style.

Fantastic cast, I must say. Gonna be awesome to have Troy Baker play the Joker again! Loved what he did with Arkham Origins. And i'm loving the art style too!

Good cast, but seeing the art, I really hate it for this, it's basically the polar opposite of Tim Sale's work. It's too clean, and lacks the energy, rough edges, and contrast of Sale's work.

Hey.. my ''Ackles will be Batman'' prediction came true.

The art style looks gorgeous and this is definitely setting up Batman in the Lukic-verse. Plus, I'm glad Lukic and Gleason keep giving Alastair Duncan more gigs as Alfred, as he is so underrated in that role.
