I gave up on the Ultimate universe years ago and have never looked back, but now I'm being tempted by Spencer's X-Men. I think I might have to give the first issue a go.

Ultimate Fallout 3 was a nice little world building issue. Loved the Karen/Hulk therapy session.

What have I missed in the world of Ultimate X-Men that I'll need to know going into Spencer's run?

Eh i'm pretty sure all the necessary information comes at #1

Hickman talks Ultimate Marvel

- Ultimates 1st arc is about how America has stretched too thin to a breaking point, Ultimates and Ultimate Hawkeye happen at the same time.
- 1st arc deals heavily on the Thor, Iron Man and Captain America whos absent at first due due to him blaming himself for Peter's death.
- Focus on Nick Fury and Hawkeye aswell
- Black Widow will be part of Ultimates alongside Spider-Woman
- Hickman wants to use She-Hulk
- plans for Jean Grey, Hulk and Derek
- Jamie Braddock is the new Captain Britain
- Hickman: "We've also got several more characters who I can't talk about. It's going to be a big book."
- "I don't want to ruin who the bad guys are, but they're new iterations of old things and then others that haven't been seen before. One of the interesting things that we're doing in this book is, we're trying not to white hat/black hat everybody right out of the gate. We do that so we can tell some really interesting stories six to seven months down the line about who really are and aren't the heroes," Hickman explained. "The difficulties that arise in 'Ultimate Hawkeye,' and the 'antagonist' in that book and our first 'Ultimates' arc are going to be characters that you'll see in all the other Ultimate books, which is why I keep stressing that these two series are really about the Ultimate world.

Honestly at this rate with all the teases, one can only wonder will Marvel have an news article spoiling us who the new Spider-Man is on August 3rd.

Why is the new suit not only nothing like the one we've seen on the preview cover recently? And presumably this is an attempt by a well meaning someone to replace him temporarily (like Mattie Franklin tried to do). Because those gloves and boots are just a bit too "cobbled together" really.

Well that may be the thing. The new Spiderman is trying to take the place of Peter but will probably come to realize that they need to be their own spiderman. Thus they adopt a radically different suit. Similar to what Bucky did when becoming Captain America.

Well barely anything new, but i'm interested at the bigger angle for Ultimate Asgard, it's open for everyone and Odin's confident enough to have the World Tree reach it, which is the source of their powers and thus Odin knows someone can try and attack it.
