That cover looks awesome. I'm guessing that May and Gwen are going to meet Miles for the first time in this issue, or at least learn that the rumors are true that there's a new Spider-Man in the wake of Peter's passing. Either way, i'm looking forward to this issue.

Got caught up on Ultimates and USM. Ultimates is going through an epic storyline right now that has made Thor more interesting than I've ever seen (granted I rarely read The Avengers or Ultimates and never read Thor, but still). Killing off the Asgardians is a bold move and I like the idea of him being able to talk to Odin, Sif, etc. in his head....but most of all, Loki. Thor's sanity could be tested.

I actually think Miles's story is very interesting and glad USM4 finally caught up with continuity (more or less). Miles being there when Peter died was a nice touch, though being lectured by Gwen at his funeral was a bit heavy handed, IMO. I only hope MJ's book/exposé on Nick Fury and his relationship with Peter Parker comes to fruition soon, as that was the biggest thing left dangling from Ultimate Fallout. Really, I feel like Gwen, and especially Aunt May, should be left alone for a while with their semi-happy retirement to France at the end of Fallout. MJ still has story possibilities as she knows more about what happened than anyone alive save for Nick Fury.

Hahaha, THATS the new Scorpion? Ultimates cover is awesome, i guess Hulk and perhaps She-Hulk make their return in #8? Assuming it's Betty who talked to him in Tibet.

.....wow what a ******ed and unnecessary redesign/reintroduction of a character that already existed. I was looking forward to the dynamic of the clone scorp coming back to find that someone has taken the mantle that should've rightfully been his and develops a real hatred for the new spidey. But instead it seems we get generic strongman #3 as the "new" Scorpion. Sigh its at the point I just don't care about USM anymore. If this is marvel's way of "shaking things up" then they can keep it. Atleast Ultimates and Ultimate X-Men have been awesome.

idk it just seems like such a cop out. Clone Scorp could've been such a good villain. Easily could've been the Green Goblin to this Spider-Man.

Well Venom the 2nd arc is suppose to have Miles receive training and the trade solicitation has like "... from Peter Parker?" so you never know if the Old and New Scorpion clash out.

Anyhow both Ultimates #5 and Ultimate X-Men #5 are out! Ultimates #5 continues to be awesome as the entire issue focuses on the characters and reintroduces Ultimate Falcon back ton the mainstream. Also Captain America is back, wohoo!

Axel Alonso talks Ultimate Marvel 2012!

Well, shifting gears back towards the full-tilt superhero stuff, let's start with the Ultimate office run by Mark Paniccia and Sana. That's a line you were very involved in for setting the books last year. So far, we've seen each of those three books establishing their own voice and stories, and while a lot of people have been focusing on Brian Bendis' work with Miles Morales in the press, is therea plan for the stories to synch up moving forward? Is a crossover between those books in the works for this year? More minis?
Alonso: We've already begun conversations about an event that unites the three monthly titles sometime in 2012. And there's a top-secret project Brian is working on about which I can say nothing. Nada. Also, [Ultimate Comics editor] Mark Paniccia tells me that plot threads from the "Ultimate Comics Hawkeye" miniseries are going to start playing out in "Ultimates" and "Ultimates Comics X-Men" in a big way.

Like I said, Miles has a lot of heat on him these days, and that follows how the original Bendis/Mark Bagley Spidey book set the tone for the Ultimate line a decade ago. But at the same time, any Spider-Man by his nature is a bit of an outsider. Do you see any characters in "Ultimates" or "Ultimate X-Men" that might have a bit more impact across the line in 2012?
Alonso: Miles Morales to have an increasingly...interactive role with the rest of the Ultimate U as we move into 2012. And there are characters from "The Ultimates" and "Ultimate X-Men" that will have a great impact on the Ultimate Universe in 2012 -- some heroes, others villains. The whole world is changing at a fiercely rapid pace with the imminent fall of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the two new, growing power bases overseas. This will force some characters to do things that are guaranteed to shock readers.

Tons of art previews in the article from Ultimates, Spidey and X-Men. Seems to me the big 2012 "event" or rather story/crossover is the Ultimates vs. The Children of Tomorrow vs. the People. So while 616 has Avengers vs. X-Men, we got US Military force, Mutants, Reed's people and the new breed of Mutants going on world war lol.

Interesting read. I'm really enjoying TIH, and ASM- so i'm highly interested in seeing what's in store for those books in particular. As well as continuing my journey with young Miles Morales. 2012 looks like Marvel's trying to get on that DC-Level. lol

Issue will introduce the new Scorpion to us, will he be the Kingpin or Norman to Miles? We'll see.

That umm art leaves a a lot to be desired. Though I have a feeling its more of the scan that screwing with things. I think its better if they don't use the clone scorpion simply because it allows the universe to move on. It would be Miles vs Peter Parker and that doesn't allow things to progress right now.

Cool preview, and is the the debut of his version of the costume? Also noticed he still doesn't have any webshooters yet, which is fine being that we're still in the infancy stage of Miles becoming the new Spidey, and him now starting to accept that role. The artwork is "MEH" at best, but it's all good because we all know Sarah's coming back SOON. lol!

Someone on another forum complained about the Peter Parker references. They aren't going to forget about Peter because its a big Miles finds a way to get out of his shadow. Its important that Spiderman isn't just a costume. Miles will probably get Petes formula or develop his own when it comes to webs. I am surprised that Spiderwoman isn't training him in some fashion. He doesn't know about his own spidersense yet.

Ultimates #6 preview!

Reed Richard's shows his confidence and awesomeness. The brain expansion reminds me of Morrison's FF:1234 where Reed went to stretch himself to get a bigger brain or so hehe.

Its more of a direct reference to how in Ultimate Fantastic Four, Reed told some lady that he used his stretching ability to make himself a little smarter. He has clearly taken it much farther now that he has no morality any more. Honestly its nice to know Ultimates is back on track and not the mess that was...........Ultimates 3 and Ultimatum.

Ultimates's latest issues keep up the build up for the now inevitable People vs. the Children that we've had incredibly small teases about, however i truly hope this is something so big and vast, that won't ultimately just turn into Ultimates vs. the People, why? Because that'd be a Nation wide "Avengers vs. X-Men" and i want Ultimate Marvel to keep its own thing going on hehe. I'm really warming up on Jamie Braddock and maybe we'll get some Avengers soon too? I miss War Machine and others, want to see them agian.

Yeah no friggin kidding. Pichelli's been killing it on USM and then they put an issue in with crap art like that?! That's how you drive away readers Marvel. Frankly that artist isn't good enough to be working for you.

What 616 characters would you like to see introduced in the Ultimate Universe? I am talking about characters that have not been introduced yet in the UU and what would you want to see done with these characters in the UU?
