Character Name:
Hank Pym

Alignment:
Hero

Character Speech Font and Colour:
Garamond Red Bold

Powers and Abilities:
· One of the foremost geniuses and preeminent renaissance thinkers in the world, whose fields of expertise spread across biochemistry, quantum physics, robotics and cybernetics, artificial intelligence and entomology.
· Discoverer of Pym particles. Subatomic particles that when manipulated can allow mass to be shunted to or from an alternate dimension, resulting in considerable stable growth or reduction in size.
· One of the few people who knows the secret to “unlocking” Pym particles, allowing him to grow or shrink himself, others and even other objects.
· Able to communicate with ants, by means of a cybernetic helmet of his own creation.
· Bio-energy projection, by means of “Bio-stingers” – another of his creations.

Character Origin/Backstory:
Henry Pym – Hank to his friends – was a budding young science prodigy, when he met the boy who would be his oldest friend in MIT; Ted Kord. The pair were the youngest scholars at the prestigious college, with Pym attending the school on the Reed Richards scholarship (awarded to the candidate who displayed great aptitude and diversity across the sciences) and Kord attending on the Howard Stark scholarship (awarded to the candidate who displayed aptitude across scientific, engineering and business fields). The two were the youngest students at the college, and formed a friendship based on similar interests, which included entomology and invention/innovation. A friendship that led to an agreement that the two should start their own company at the conclusion of their studies.

And so it was, that 5 years later capital was amassed and Kord/Pym Enterprises was formed.

Early years, the pair produced mainly smaller home and office level innovations in order to repay start-up debts which were quickly paid off. All the while Pym worked on his own theoretical work which led to his biggest game-changing discovery.

The discovery of Pym particles, sub-atomic particles which lead to understanding the Higgs field. The close proximity of Pym particles to the Higgs boson lead to the reduction of mass across the intradimensional Pym field. The reason why the Higgs boson particle had been so difficult to locate and prove based on figures of mass. The discovery took the scientific community by storm, but it was Hank Pym’s unrevealed findings which would change the lives of the pair and the people closest to them.

Ever since Ted Kord was a young child, he had been in awe of adventurers, like his heroes the Challengers of the Unknown. Now his friend had made a game-changing discovery that made such a lifestyle attainable and could give his altruistic attitude a new form. The pair could change the world, the universe even, for the better.

Hank was not so sure, having always been relatively more reserved than Ted. He wasn’t sure that the idea wasn’t just grandstanding, and skewed priorities. Surely they’d be better served making further scientific discoveries to benefit the world? But Ted recruited another to his side, in an effort to sway Hank’s opinion:

His long-term girlfriend Janet Van Dyne.

In a world of larger than life heroic figures, Janet struggled to see Hank’s point of view regarding creating great boons for mankind behind closed doors. In this modern world, appearance was huge and great difference makers almost always cast a big shadow in public, which prompted Hank to confess his concerns of his own fears that he wouldn’t be able to live that kind of life.

But letting these fears stand in the way of helping others, it was concluded, was considerably more selfish than “grandstanding as a costumed adventurer”.

The trio were joined by a fourth, as a friend of Ted’s by the name of Michael Carter gave Hank a small hobby piece to work on…

The hobby-piece was a small device that looked like a highly advanced device that had a few similarities to a robotic vacuum cleaner, but with a significantly more defined artificial intelligence. Ted had patched up parts of the device, but got stuck. Hank took a more detailed approach, starting from a molecular level, where he discovered the materials the robot’s plating was constructed from was not a common material. Hank properly repaired the device using a 3D printer and nanobots to convert the particulate matter to its original form, and despite his sound knowledge of cutting edge techniques in artificial intelligence he found himself still learning from the remarkable device.

When the work was completed and the machine activated, the robot flew away back to the dishevelled home of Michael Carter and completed its last primary command.

It located a gold and blue suit in a hiding place and began repairing it.

This led to a confession from Michael. He’d come from the future in search of fame, glory and wealth. His suit and robotic companion Skeets had become damaged, and with the technology involved being from the 25th Century he had little hope of a return, short of the mind of one of this time period’s foremost geniuses.

Hank began to see that without making practical use of his discovery’s he would have been unable to track Skeets back to Carter’s home. Also from the analysis of Skeets itself he began to see how this lifestyle could lead to exposure to the more remarkable aspects of the universe, and therefore have an even greater impact on the world with his own scientific creations.

The four would become a new group of adventurers, devoted to bringing forth a better tomorrow. A Foundation for the Future.

Hank Pym – Quiet, reserved. Remarkable intellect.Capable of changing his size and mass using Pym particles, and communicating with ants via his cybernetic helmet. A pacificist, he really likes to avoid conflict.

Janet Van Dyne – Brash, outgoing and enjoys the limelight. Loves Hank Pym because of the attributes she sees in him, even if she can’t always see why he does things a certain way. Able to shrink down to roughly an inch in size, courtesy of Pym particles. Was given a pair of “Bio-stingers” by Hank, who feared she may struggle to defend herself. Capable of flight with a pair of wings designed by Ted and Hank, when at her reduced size.

Ted Kord – An adventurous, jocular personality, Ted Kord is living a dream that for many years he’d forced himself to forget, because it no longer seemed possible. Ted is a genius in his own right, but occasionally feels insecure because of Hank’s intelligence and the fact that he has no real powers, instead relying mostly on devices of his own design. He also has a cybernetic helmet capable of communicating with beetles of Hank’s design, but seldom wears it because of afore-mentioned insecurities. Ted is a skilled hand-to-hand combatant, despite starting training late as the life of adventure reared its head as a possibility, but it’s the equipment he uses that he’s best known for. Ted designed his own airship “The Bug”, with non-lethal ordnance, as well as his BB gun, which was a versatile handheld weapon which could incapacitate a foe in a few different ways, as well as function as a grapple gun. Also has numerous other gadgets not mentioned here.

Michael Jon Carter – A man with an enigmatic past, Michael doesn’t like talking with most about the person he used to be and views adventuring as a chance to grab at a better future, which he’s somewhat desperate for. He’s also wary of discussing future events with other people… fortunately he’s not THAT familiar with historical events to remember exactly what happened with some of the key figures of the 21st Century. Michael really doesn’t like the thought of being viewed or remembered as a “loser”, but at the same time overcompensates behind a thick surface layer of confidence and bravado. His powers come from his 25th Century power suit, which grants him super strength, limited control of force fields, flight and wrist blasters.

What Makes This Version “Ultimate”:
Uniting a pair of characters from each universe who I think will make an interesting character dynamic, and look at the concept of fame and how three different types of people take it in their stride. One in Pym who rejects the notion, Jan who is used to it, and looks to feed and thrive on it, Kord who has it as a symptom of a childhood dream, and Booster who’s desperately trying to grab at it.

Take ‘em all and throw them in a Fantastic 4 kind of situation, where fame will come… along with all kinds of crazy adventures. And that’s what we’re looking at here.

What can you bring to the RPG:
Hopefully some crazy ideas for this world… and others.

Sample:
“I don’t know about this, Ted...”

“Well it’s a good thing that I’m in charge of the business side of things and that I DO know, Hank.”

“We talked about bringing in outsiders—“

“We did. It’s why we kept it a partnership. Own the liability, own the direction. Good thing nobody’s talking about making her a partner. She’s just going to be taking care of things when we’re offsite.”

“Offsite. Interesting choice of words...”

“Thought you’d like that. You haven’t even met her yet, let me bring her over.”

Hank sighed. It wasn’t a matter of WHO she was. Only that there’d be someone new. An untested variable. Pym was a man of science. Untested variables would always make him wary, and while Ted was enjoying pushing his buttons he knew exactly what his problem was as well.

After all, Ted was his oldest friend, and a man of science as well.

Ted led him over to a young, pretty little brunette with her hair tied back in a ponytail with a green tie. “Jennifer, this is Henry Pym. Hank, this is Jennifer Walters.”

He shook her hand, hesitantly, eyeing her for a second. “Wait, she’s—“

“Yes. She’s being working here before. She’s familiar because we’ve used her previously as a legal consultant. As the company grew I hired her full time to take care of legal issues. She’s more than qualified and has been working here a while.”

“Oh...” Pym looked flustered, embarrassed with how his initial reaction looked.

“I know you, Hank. I knew it would be hard enough to convince you of this without putting someone untested at the helm of the business while we were out.”

“I’m sorry, Miss Walters. It’s not your issue and I’m sure you’re qualified. I was just a little concerned because I thought he was dropping—you know what. Let’s just leave it at ‘Sorry’ and I’m sure you’ll do fine.”

“Thank you, Mr Pym. I’m sure I will too.” Jennifer responded confidently.

Looking good. I'll most likely have a third app up tonight

I original wasn't going to do a third character, but an idea struck me that I wanted to give a shot

Character Name: Susan Storm

Alignment: Hero

Speech Color/Font: Arial Light Blue

Powers and Abilities: Sue's primary ability is her intellect. Doctor Storm is considered by many to be one of the smartest people on the planet. Having graduated from MIT at the age of 25 with advanced degrees in engineering, physics, biology, and chemistry, she has proven herself to be one of the best scientific minds of her time.

After the incident, Sue will gain the ability to psionicly manipulated the light around her. Thanks to this, she will able to turn herself as well as other objects invisible. On top of this, she will be able to create solid constructs from her surroundings for offensive and defensive capabilities.

Character Backstory: Susan Storm was born in Coast City, CA, and nearly immediately began impressing her parents, doctors, and caretakers with her intelligence. Sue began recognizing colors, shapes, and patterns by the time she was a month old, leading her parents to worry she may have been autistic. It turned out she was more than that. She was a child prodigy, with mental capabilities far surpassing her peers. Her father, renowned scientist Franklin Storm, fostered a love of science in the girl from that day on, and Sue grew up wanting to emulate him.

Franklin worked as a brilliant aerospace engineer for Ferris Aerospace, the United State's leading company in the field. Franklin often took Sue to work with him, where she fell in love with the concept of space travel and the vast, unknown reaches of space. Her little brother Johnny also began coming with them when he was old enough, though he was more focused on flying in space more than the science aspect.

She graduated high school at the age of 15, and was immediately granted a full ride to MIT, her father's alma mater. While there, she met nineteen year old Reed Richards, a prodigy in his own right. Though while Sue was socially out going, Reed was an introvert, and tended to keep to himself. Still, Sue found him intriguing, and pursued him nearly her entire ten years at MIT. During that time she worked on and received doctorates in theoretical physics, chemistry, biology, and aerospace engineering.

The two ended their time by finally kindling a romantic relationship and starting work in a joint STAR Labs/Ferris Aerospace think tank to design an interplanetary spacecraft. The project, also partially financed by Queen Industries from Star City, was meant to finally put man on Mars and beyond, and was based on Reed's theory that a hyperdrive was an obtainable goal. The team made incredible progress thanks to the pair of geniuses on the project.

While the work went smoothly, the relationship did not. Reed's overly serious and analytical nature grated on the more free-spirited Storm, and the two split after only a few months of dating. After the split, Sue began spending more time with Johnny, who had just finished a stint with the airforce and was now training with Ferris to be one of their private astronauts. While there, he became good friends with two other trainees, Hal Jordan and Ben Grimm. The three were known to be the best pilots in the company, though they were also considered on the wild side.

Sue took an immediate liking to Jordan, and the two began dating secretly as the prototype hyperdrive went into production. The two didn't want their new love to get in the way of the end of a project they had all worked so hard on, nor did they want it interfering with Sue and Reed's training to be among the passengers to test the spacecraft.

The hyperdrive engine was finally finished, and the project team was ready to test it along with their newly developed spacecraft. Hal was originally planned to pilot the mission before Reed discovered he and Sue were dating. In a show of petty jealousy, he had Jordan replaced with Grimm, with Johnny remaining copilot.

The time is now, and the four are ready to test the rocket that many believe will push the human race across the stars.

What makes this version "Ultimate"? First and foremost, Sue isn't second fiddle here. She's every bit Reed's intellectual equal. She's always been the most powerful of the Fantastic Four when it came to her powers, and now her mind will follow suit.

Story wise, my idea, at least for a while, is very "Lost in Space". The Four will be searching the cosmic side of the One Universe for a while as they try and find their way back to Earth.

On top of all this, the FF will have ties to STAR Labs, Ferris Aerospace, and Queen Industries. Sue will also have close personal ties to Hal Jordan.

Sample post:

Sue took another deep breath as she prepared her spacesuit. It had been specifically developed by Reed to protect them from the forces of the hyperdrive they'd be testing that day, so she really had nothing to worry about. Still, there was a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach she couldn't shake.

"Do I look that bad?" she asked Hal, who was looking at her with that kind of look where he knew something was wrong but didn't want to draw attention to it.

"Well, you certainly don't look to happy about seeing years of work finally pay off," Jordan shrugged. "It's not like you not to be giddy on such an occasion."

"I don't know, Hal," Sue shook her head. "I just have a feeling."

"Hey, pilots have feelings," he laughed. "You have the brains."

Sue chuckled. It was easy to be with Hal. He was funny, laid back, and actually had fun. More or less, he was the opposite of Reed. She'd be lying if she said she didn't wish he was going up with her, but she also knew Ben Grimm was just as capable as a pilot, not to mention Johnny being there as well. Plus, she'd finally be among the stars like she had always dreams. Hal was right, there was no reason to be nervous. Sue had waited her entire life for this, and she wasn't going to let the opportunity pass her by.

"Almost time for final prep," she said, standing. "Don't be too jealous now."

"I wouldn't dream of it," he shot her a grin. "Plus, next time I'm coming, no matter what Mister Fantastic thinks."

Ultimate One Universe
Character Application

Character Name: Matthew Murdock, potentially the superhero better known as Daredevil at some point down the line.

Alignment (Hero, Villain, Walking the Line): Hero.

Character Speech Font and Color: Burgundy Trebuchet MS, bolded.

Powers and Abilities: None, at this point.

Character Origin/Backstory:

Matthew Murdock is the son of Jack Murdock, the heavyweight boxer whose meteoric rise from long-time sparring partner of Ted “Wildcat” Grant to heavyweight champion of the world caught America’s attention nearly two decades ago. Grant, in contrasts to Murdock had long been considered a prodigious talent in boxing circles, and ultimately the two friends would meet one another in the ring in a heavyweight title decider. Unlike the run-up to many bouts, the two men treated each other with respect and often stopped to discuss at length their admiration for one another. Grant had helped to lift Murdock’s spirits after the death of his wife many years earlier and had given him a second chance in boxing by making the unknown his sparring partner. Similarly, Murdock helped keep Grant grounded whilst others found themselves seduced by his seemingly limitless potential.

In the audience that night Matthew Murdock watched the two men slug it out for round after endless round, finding himself torn at times between rooting for his father and “Uncle Ted” as he then referred to him. In the tenth round, “Uncle Ted” landed a punch that sent Jack to the ground awkwardly and from which Jack Murdock would never get up. There on the canvass, in front of thousands of people, Jack Murdock would meet his end. It was a freak accident and Ted Grant would be cleared of any wrongdoing, but the ensuing media circus that would surround him, coupled with the guilt at having ended his friend’s life, brought Grant’s boxing career to an abrupt end.

Lacking any other family Matt would find himself a ward of the state, bouncing from group home to group home. After several years and several brushes with the law, Ted Grant would reappear in Hell’s Kitchen and offer the young Matt Murdock a way out. As unorthodox as it seemed that he might choose to live with his father’s murderer, to Matt there seemed no more natural a choice. Ted took him in and used what little funds he had left over from his boxing career to set up “Wildcat’s Gym” in the heart of Hell’s Kitchen, a place he hoped that the children of the Kitchen could find refuge.

Matt managed, for the most part, to stick to the straight and narrow with Ted’s help. The brushes with the law continued, though they were farther and fewer between, and it even seemed likely that Matt might graduate from high school with the help of his friend Franklin “Foggy” Nelson. Those hopes were dashed one night when Matt took it upon himself to scare off a group of bullies that had been giving Foggy a hard time and found himself in a juvenile offender’s unit instead. It would be the first of many stints, and whilst Foggy would go on to Columbia and later Harvard, Matt’s brushes with the law would result in his discontinuing his education and focusing instead on working with Ted at the gym.

Together the two would work to help some of the Kitchen’s most troubled children. In recent years, Matt has become more disillusioned with what he feels like their efforts to swim against the tide, watching group after group of children turn to crime, drugs, or worse, and as such often finds himself taking matters into his own hands in order to ensure their welfare. Coupled with the feelings of worthlessness and inadequacy that he feels as a result of having squandered his academic potential, Matt Murdock is at a crossroads in life. This is where we find him.

What Makes This Version "Ultimate":

Matt isn’t blind, his father wasn’t murdered, and this version of Matt has a father/son relationship with Ted Grant. Essentially, this universe’s version of “Daredevil” has yet to be born because Jack Murdock died as a result of a freak boxing accident, rather than being murdered by the Kingpin. Whether he will become Daredevil, how he will become Daredevil, and most importantly what Daredevil he could possibly become in a world where his father wasn’t murdered has yet to be decided. Though there are certainly signs as to the answers to all of these questions early on.

What can you bring to the RPG:

I’ve already written a few posts in advance and seem to be really enjoying it, so I’m hoping for a good character-driven, “long burn” arc that’ll present the Matt Murdock character in a way that hasn’t previously been done here before.

Sample Post (provide a short post of at least 3 paragraphs and 1 line of dialogue for your character):

Hell’s Kitchen, New York

Waiting outside the police is a battered, dusty sedan. Leaning against it is a man that looks equally unkempt. His dirty brown hair is unbrushed, his suit is crumpled, and there are coffee stains on his tie.

“I can’t keep doing this, Matt.”

His name is Foggy Nelson. And he’s my oldest, if not best, friend.

“It’s nice to see you too, Foggy.”

I make my way towards the car and open the door, brushing aside the crumbs on the passenger side seat. Foggy seems completely oblivious to the candy bar wrappers and empty cans that litter his car.

Despite forging a semi-successful career at the bar, Foggy’s complete lack of care in regards to his appearance and belongings had managed to stick with him. The mess would drive me mad if it were anyone else. Somehow Foggy’s nature makes it endearing.

“What was it this time?”

“One of the regulars at the gym shows up with bruises all over his face, a fat lip, tells me he got jumped on the way back from school. Turns out his dad has a drinking problem, likes to lay his hands on the kid and his mother when the Giants have a bad game.”

Foggy stares out of the window for a few moments before starting the ignition.

“What would you have done?”

“I would have called the police and let them do their job,” he says with a shake of his head. “Not put a man in the hospital.”

“You know what they say,” I say with a smile. “Different strokes for different folks.”

“Don’t you smile at me, Matt Murdock. This is the second time in as many months. Do you know where they’ll send you next time you put someone in the hospital? Riker’s Island.”

“There won’t be a next time.”

“That’s what you said last time.”

“If I’d wanted a lecture I’d have called Ted,” I say with a sigh. “You’re supposed to be my friend, Foggy.”

“I’m trying to be your friend.”

We sit in silence for much of the rest of the journey.

I can’t help but think about how different the paths Foggy and I have led these past few years. There was a time, as hard as it is to believe, that Foggy used to copy my homework. Then dad died and everything went to crap. Had things gone a little differently maybe I’d have finished high school and made it out of Hell’s Kitchen too.

Instead, here I am.

As we pull up in front of my apartment, Foggy turns to me and sighs.

“I know you think nothing’s changed,” he says with a shake of his head. “You think you were right to put that man in the hospital. That it’s somehow the same as sticking up for me all those years ago when the other kids would pick on me on the way back from school.”

“It is the same.”

“No,” Foggy sighs. “Look, you’re a grown man and I can’t tell you how to live your life, Matt, but for Ted’s sake… Please call the police next time. You’re all he has left.”

I open the door and step outside into the rain.

“Goodnight, Foggy.”

“Goodnight.”

I slam the door shut and watch Foggy’s dusty old sedan drive off into the distance. I know he’s right, I know I should have gone to the police instead of trying to deal with it myself, but I can’t pretend that if it happened all over again I’d do a thing differently. Fighting’s all I’m good for.

I am my father’s son, after all.

Moon Knight/Red Hood/Jason Bourne app complete.

Had a chunk of the sample for Pym and the Future Foundation written as well and then work got really busy.

Expected, but I couldn't get a vibe going for Superman in time. But that's how the cookie crumbles. That said, I'm still working on prospective sheets. So far I'm thinking of running Helena Bertinelli in this the most, but I'll let you guys know when there's some fruit to by aspirations instead of just "I am interested in BLANK character."

Hopefully something within the week.

Sue Storm is, of course, approved.

Real life is becoming a bear...however I will have postS up sometime tomorrow...if not sooner.

Finding a story to use Ultra-Humanite in has finally happened!

Sue post should be up tomorrow.

Finally finished this so I can start posting in the IC proper and lay out who I intend to use in my stuff, in case there's any conflict with another's plans. Credit goes to Carnage for giving me the idea.

The Spider's Web

Spider-Man/Peter Parker - College-bound and with only a few weeks under his belt as a crimefighter, Spidey hasn't quite made a name for himself or gotten any more competent at it, but he's getting there. When he's not focusing on his friends and family ontop of a first semester in college, a promising internship at Horizon Labs, or taking part in a number of odd jobs to keep the bills from piling up, that is.

May Parker - Peter's aunt, and the moral compass he thrives on. Despite suffering a heart attack after losing her husband just a year earlier, May's more determined than ever to live life to the fullest for her sake and Ben's - which is why she's moved into Manhattan proper with Anna Watson and her niece, Mary Jane. What she doesn't yet realize is that it's going to become hard to live life to it's fullest whenever New York is about to be put under siege by forces that threaten it.

Gwen Stacy - Peter's best friend, secretly harboring a crush on him since the day they met. But despite being offered the same internship at Horizon Labs as Peter, Gwen wasn't able to turn down an offer made from Oscorp Industries after Harry pulled the necessary strings, putting an unintentional distance between the two. It's just as well, as this period of her life has allowed Gwen to focus on her work as an aspiring engineer, and perhaps even find love elsewhere.

Harry Osborn - The guy Peter wants to be, and can never be at the same time. Most of Spider-Man's confidence derives from Harry's take-no-prisoners attitude, once making him one of the most popular kids in Midtown and now the most popular on campus at ESU. The wealth doesn't hurt, either, despite his resentment towards it and his somewhat estranged father.

Mary Jane Watson - Newly enrolled at Empire State, Mary Jane is a complete mystery to Peter. Once set up on a blind date with her that ended in disaster, Peter mostly keeps his distance from the party girl who's somehow already managed to woo every single guy on campus. He doesn't see the appeal, but at the same time, can't help but wonder if there's more to her than meets the eye...

Empire State University Alumni

Eugene "Flash" Thompson - The stereotypical jock, Flash Thompson was the worst nightmare of everyone like Peter Parker and Quentin Beck. If you were an outcast, he'd make you his personal doormat. When Peter was first developing his powers, he accidentally broke Flash's leg in a fight, resulting in an injury that benched Flash for his final season at Midtown High. Still bitter, Flash has made it his personal mission to make Parker's life a living hell, unaware that he already succeeded a long time ago.

Liz Allen - Harry's girlfriend, and Flash's ex. She was actually the one girl to notice Peter Parker for a brief period of time, when he fought back against her boyfriend's relentless taunting, but she's come to her senses enough to disregard Peter and focus on unraveling the mystery that is his friend Harry instead. Part of her disgust towards Peter is the fact that he reminds her of that spineless worm she has for a cousin in Central City.

Jason Rusch - Perhaps even more timid than Peter was during High School, Jason's been pushed into becoming more outgoing, rising above his classmates and excelling in chemistry and science. Peter tried to make friends with him once, but despite their shared interests, it didn't work out. Jason's one obstacle now seems to be the arrogant Coach Ronnie Raymond, who won't let him play Varsity Football to really make a name for himself.

Sally Avril - Once the most popular girl at Midtown High, Peter actually felt sorry for Sally whenever fell from grace after an unexpected pregnancy knocked her social status out from under her. She now clings to the popular crowd out of desperation, hoping to win back her status by stealing Harry Osborn away from her rival, Liz Allen, despite having to balance college with raising a newborn.

Jessica Drew - Gwen's best friend, and by extension, an associate of Peter's. Considered something of a basket case in High School, Jessica has tried to move on from her troubled youth by making friends with the right people - Peter Parker included. But her desire to find an identity for herself has led to some troubling difficulties in her life, resulting in her friends worrying for her well being.

Ronnie Raymond - The head coach of the Empire State University Firestorms, the ill-tempered Raymond takes all of his past failures to achieve glory out on nearly all of his players. Peter steers clear of the man at all cost, less than eager to earn any of his fury.

Miguel O'Hara - O'Hara teaches History 101, and is one of the few people Peter gets along great with despite his constant absences. O'Hara's seen as something of a joke, however, given his laid back approach to teaching and his attempts to appear cool to a younger generation, including adopting a new slang: utterance of the word "shock" infront of every other sentence.

Max Modell - Modell teaches Science 101, and is one of the model teachers Peter aspires to be like. But Modell can often be strict towards his students, particularly if they're slacking off - as Peter seems to be every single time that he shows up late for a class. Modell seems to let on that he's suspicious of Peter's activities, but chooses not to discuss it.

Julia Carpenter - The dean of admissions, Carpenter is often fluxed with calls from concerned parents about how superpowered mutants and unprovoked attacks on her campus can be allowed to threaten the safety of her students. Little do they know that she's actually been monitoring these events for a secretive, perhaps even sinister purpose.

Hypno-Hustler and The Mercy Killers - The most popular band on campus, it's frontman is Hobie Brown, the stepson of The Daily Bugle's producer, Joe Robertson. No one suspects that Hobie actually lives a double life as a fence for Felicia Hardy's black market goods, working alongside Aaron Davis, her hired "prowler".

New York's Finest

Captain George Stacy - A well-meaning cop looking to weed out every trace of corruption from his precinct, George Stacy and his family were once the neighboring family of the Parkers. Peter admires him for a number of reasons, so it's not exactly welcome news whenever he discovers that Stacy also plans to shift the department's focus on stomping out the new masked vigilante craze - with a certain webhead included.

Lieutenant Fredrick Foswell - Stacy's right-hand man, Foswell secretly acts as a liaison between all three major crime organizations in Manhattan. Representing every faction from Silvio Silvermane's to Herman Schultz's, all the way up to The Kingpin's, Foswell is the inside man that the inside men don't even know about. His one-time undercover alias, The Rose, is even utilized for his own discretion.

Sergeant Carlie Cooper - A veteran of the force, Carlie made her way up the food chain of law enforcement early on through alot of hard work. Ironically the only other member of the precinct that operates completely by the book, Cooper can't understand why Captain Stacy trusts a man like Foswell over her, despite his clear allegiances. She's now determined to prove that the Lieutenant isn't the man who says he is.

Detective Flint Marko - Ruthless and determined, Marko has been living in the shadow of his hero cop father, the late William Baker, practically since the day he was born. But his luck has recently changed, as a promotion to lead detective on the Electrocutioner case has made him more focused to prove himself as his own man than ever.

Detective Alex O'Hirn - Marko's assigned partner, O'Hirn has seen the city's ugliest sides and suffered a few setbacks along the way. Hardly the cop that he used to be, his biggest fear is slowing the department down. Which is why he plans to make Marko's Electrocutioner case the one that he can retire on.

Officer Mattie Franklin - Newly transferred from Coast City, Officer Franklin seems to be the one person on the force who idolizes vigilantes like Spider-Man and Gotham City's Batman, seeing them as a necessary evil in an increasingly strange world. Her idealistic point of view isn't often shared, however, leading her to silently root for the "masked weirdos" that keep stopping the criminals her own subordinates can't seem to capture.

The Daily Bugle News Team

J. Jonah Jameson - Television news anchor and controversial political commentator, Jameson is the host of The Daily Bugle, New York's highest rated talk show and the primary outlet for all of Jameson's infamous tirades. While he once dealt exclusively in the political arena, his ire seems to have steered towards the re-emergence of costumed vigilantism in recent months, a trend which Jameson is convinced will corrupt modern society. Preparing to launch the show's newest nightly segment, "Masked Menaces", the emergence of a certain wall-crawler seems to capture his attention the most.

Robbie Robertson - Often seen as the one voice of reason behind Jameson's loud and obnoxious barking, Robertson is the often-stressed producer of The Daily Bugle, desperately clutching away at whatever decency Jameson has as a human being in order to reign him in when necessary. His usual methods don't seem to be working on Jonah now, however, when it comes to the hot button issue of steering the program's direction into publicly criticizing Spider-Man and others like him.

Betty Brant - One of Peter Parker's former classmates, Betty dropped out of Midtown High in her Senior Year in order to pursue somewhat of a different path. She isn't out to become the next biologist or breakthrough geneticist - rather, she's determined to be the next Lois Lane or Norah Winters, moonlighting as Jameson's personal assistant in order to stay close to a potential story. The results may vary, however, as she finds herself caught up in the rise of a superhuman upsurge completely unprepared.

Mac Gargan - The lead field correspondent for The Daily Bugle, Gargan's the one person on staff who actively seems to goad Jameson on when it comes to his ire for the superhuman community... largely out of a selfish desire to gain international exposure after wasting years as Jameson's second fiddle, as a lowly political correspondent who'd cover nothing but tedious rallies and press conferences.

Glory Grant - Hired onto The Daily Bugle as an executive producer, Glory multitasks by actively looking for ways to sabotage Jameson's tapings in progress before they can reach the cutting room floor. With her purpose entirely unclear, it seems that she harbors somewhat of a personal attachment to the metahumans that Jameson unfairly criticizes, wishing to paint them in a more positive light than the program often does.

Part 2

Oscorp Industries

Norman Osborn - Practically building his company from nothing, Norman Osborn became a pioneer in cybernetic technologies with the founding of Oscorp Industries. A business rival to everyone from Wayne Enterprises to Stark Industries, very little is actually known about Osborn himself, as he rarely ventures outside of the spiraling Oscorp Tower in the heart of Manhattan. What fewer even realize is that in order to get to where he is, he's had to step on alot of the city's most influential citizens - creating powerful enemies along the way. His endangered legacy is now in the hands of the only person he's able to trust: the son he wants to pressure into taking the reigns of his empire.

Anthony Ivo - Once a proud student of the legendary Howard Stark, Ivo ventured off on his own path once Stark's son became heir to the legacy and squandered it. His morality not entirely in play when it comes to his decisions, a quality Osborn especially values him for, he often takes an unsettling amount of joy in creating the war machines of tomorrow - including Oscorp's latest project, a living military drone categorized under the Advanced Munitions Android Zero Operative project.

Lilly Hollister - The head of Osborn's personal security personnel, Hollister has been recently tasked by an overly paranoid Norman to protect everything he holds dear. Which is actually very little, making her job all the more interesting when it becomes clear that Osborn and his kin are being targeted by parties that wish to bring him considerable harm. As a joke in light of J. Jonah Jameson's broadcasts, most of the Oscorp Industries staff quietly refer to her as "Captain of the Anti-Menace Squad".

Mendell Stromm - Osborn's right-hand man, Stromm appears to have remained silently content with his position overseeing the day to day operations of a company in the shadow of his employer. This is all a ruse, however, to hide his true goals of succeeding Osborn as CEO once he's removed by his corporate and underworld rivals. Whichever of them succeeds doesn't matter - as long as he's ultimately the one to claim the prize.

Dr. Miles Warren - Still relatively young and eager to perfect his craft, Dr. Warren acts as Oscorp's head of development. Though a genius engineer in his own right, Warren finds himself more easily distracted with the hiring of Gwen Stacy, who immediately catches his eye. His charm does not entirely go unnoticed, however, as Stacy often trades glances back at him during work hours. Perhaps it's because he reminds her of Peter, who's lately never seemed to be there when she needs him most.

Dr. Victor Fries - A lowly but revered expert in cryogenetics, Victor transported his vast amount of research from Waynetech to Oscorp whenever Norman Osborn manipulated him with a generous offer that appealed to Victor's plight: If he helped revolutionize Osborn's robotics with a new sustainable energy source, powered by thermal engines, Osborn would allow Fries to continue the incubation of his terminally ill wife, Nora, until a cure could be found.

Horizon Labs

Dr. Curt Connors - The only other person in the world to know that Peter Parker is Spider-Man, Connors secretly provides aid and guidance for Peter whenever necessary out of guilt for his role in the accident that gave the teenager his powers. His ulterior motives for leading the research team at Horizon remain a mystery, however, as he hopes to find alternative methods to unlock the secret of his failed genetic sequencer experiment.

Professor Martin Stein - Connors' one-time mentor, who now oversees Horizon's day-to-day experiments in an advisory position. Considering the genetic sequencer a catastrophic failure, Professor Stein is convinced that Curt should allow his obsession with restoring his missing arm to pass so that he can move onto utilizing his scientific genius for practical uses, trying to productively move the company forward and out of the shadow of their very public setback.

Dr. Ashley Kafka - A recent addition to the supervisory team, Kafka has made a name for herself as the world-renowned geneticist and chemist who treated the Ebola virus and other major illnesses plaguing the third-world nation of Bialya. She's relocated to Horizon out of a desire to help develop the research for treatment of another illness that ravages the world, genetic mutation, as an option for those who do not wish to have their abilities... or those that are considered far too dangerous to use them.

Martin Li - The sole financial backer of Horizon Labs, Martin Li is President and CEO in title only, openly allowing the advisory staff to run the day-to-day operations without any direct interference. His role is designed, however, to be intentionally charitable in order to hide his connections to the criminal underworld as the mysterious Mr. Negative.

Victor Stone - The son of mechanical engineer Silas Stone, Victor's rebellious nature got the better of him whenever he chose a major in genetic sciences over following in his father's footsteps. In exchange for tutelage under Dr. Connors, Victor nevertheless handles the techical support and machine operations of most of Horizon's highly advanced equipment. On his off time, he works for Empire State University in a similar capacity, giving him a small acquantanceship with Peter Parker.

April Reilly - A recent graduate of Columbia University, April accepted a job at Horizon out of ethical resentment towards the nature of Oscorp Industries' experiments - all of which she witnessed in her time there. Managing to leave Oscorp after a month of employment, she's made her way to the competition in the hopes of pursuing a more legitimate line of work in the scientific field, despite her many claims about Norman Osborn and his company falling upon deaf ears.

Phil Urich - An arrogant, slightly neurotic biologist who often disagrees with Dr. Connors and Professor Stein's methods, Phil is the nephew of a respected journalist who prides himself on personal integrity, motivating Phil's desire to pioneer a change in how genetic sciences are maintained. This has led to a series of incidents resulting from his pursuit of extreme experiments that Urich hopes to push the boundries of scientific understanding. Connors keeps a watchful eye on him, hoping that he doesn't eventually cross the line.

Miles Morales - The youngest member on staff at the age of 15, Miles is nevertheless a scientific prodigy that could one day win the nobel prize. His particular interest seems to be in creating possible solutions to the metahuman crisis, experimenting with all sorts of potential cures taken from tissue samples from incarcerated "supervillains". But while his research is sound, his age makes it hard for anyone to take him seriously, causing him to be overshadowed by his colleagues. He seems to idolize Spider-Man, theorizing that they could even be the same age.

Grodd - A favorite among Horizon's Lab experiments, Grodd - named for the peculiar sound he makes while attempting to communicate, is a particularly intelligent Silverback Gorilla that the team is trying to teach human behavior in a radical form of interactive therapy. What no one actually realizes is that Grodd is far more aware of his surroundings than he lets on, perhaps even plotting something beyond the cage he calls home.

The Unfriendly Neighborhood

Otto Octavius - A retired physicist who made a name for himself as one of the most brilliant minds to come out of the last century, Octavius became content enough to settle down and maintain a life with his wife Rosaile, choosing to make money off of various guest lectures at universities across the country. This was until news of Dr. Connors' genetic sequencer experiment piqued an unusual curiosity in Otto's mind, wondering if the good doctor was onto something extraordinary. Notably making a number of visits to Horizon as of late, Octavius hopes to convince Connors to resume the experiment. Peter Parker considers him something of a legend.

Silvio Silvermane - Second only to The Kingpin, Silvermane is the most respected crime boss in New York, and leader of the Maggia. Earning a reputation as a calculative businessman who systematically took control of a sizable portion of Brooklyn's criminal organizations, Silvermane shocked everyone when he unexpectedly declared a gang war between himself and L. Thompson Lincoln's organization, now led by Herman Schultz. Sitting back and allowing the carnage to consume the streets, many of Silvermane's top lieutenants have wondered if this largely out of character move is apart of some grand strategy - all unaware of the horrific truth. Needless to say, Silvermane is no longer the man he says he is.

Herman Schultz - Inheriting the late L. Thompson Lincoln's vast criminal empire after marrying his daughter, Janice, Herman is shocked to find himself thrust into the middle of a gang war between himself and the Maggia, whom they had formerly shared a longstanding truce with. Out of desperation, Herman has decided to change up his strategy to maintain his organization's survival, creating The Shockers, a band of masked thugs outfitted with high-tech weapons that answer only to him. What he doesn't realize is that the move only prompts Silvermane to seek his own extraordinary lengths in order to retaliate.

Alistair Smythe - Something of a wildcard, Smythe was a former employee of Oscorp Industries who was fired for illegally tampering with volunteer human test subjects. Rather than make it a police matter, however, Norman Osborn had Smythe blackmailed into keeping the incident quiet. He now works for Silvio Silvermane, offering his services as an expert in robotics in order to give Silvermane an edge over his competition - and to plot his own revenge against Osborn.

Tombstone/Lonnie Lincoln, Jr. - Schultz's right hand man and brother-in-law, Lincoln secretly harbors a great resentment for his new boss as a result of his father naming Schultz the successor to his empire instead of him. This has prompted him to align himself with Silvermane, operating as his contact from within Schultz's organization. His great strength and intimidating presence make him a valuable player on either side, acting as a one man enforcer when the job calls for it.

Felicia Hardy - An independent player in the underworld, Hardy runs a defacto section of Manhattan's crime circuit out of a nightclub called The Black Cat, named after an insult she'd frequently hear from her illustrious father - whom she intends to bring to ruin after all but abandoning her at an early age. Utilizing her expertise as a former thief, she trains others to work for her in exchange for gaining part of the profit to fund her own vengeful crusade against her father... Norman Osborn.

Electro/Max Dillon - A mentally disturbed serial killer who was hired to "fix" certain problem people for L. Thompson Lincoln's criminal organization, Dillon's preferred method of lowering his victims' defenses is to pose as an electrician in order to gain access to their homes. He's been slipping as of late, however, as his disillusionment with reality has compromised his usually flawless work. His killings now known publicly as the work of what the tabloids call "The Electrocutioner", Dillon has to be considerably more careful if he's going to slip back into anonymity.

Mysterio/Quentin Beck - A former student at Midtown High, Beck's unusually obsessive qualities made him the guy that everybody picked on. But Beck was determined to win his classmates over by turning towards his true passion - film - in order to remake a B-movie from the 1950's called "The Mysterio From Space". The low-budget entry into the Midtown High film festival unfortunately gained him mockery like he'd never experienced, prompting him to drop out entirely. He hasn't been seen since.

The Vulture/Adrian Toomes - Son of former hitman Blackie Drago, Toomes enjoyed a modest career as a mercenary-for-hire up until his incarceration at Ryker's Island. During his stay, he discovered a talent for creating: whether it was a shiv for a fellow cellmate to stick between another's ribs or a makeshift key to his own cell for a nightly stroll without the guards' permission, Toomes became skilled enough to warrant protection from the other inmates. Charging a fair amount for his services, he eventually even earned the nickname of "The Vulture". Released from prison, he's been called upon by Silvermane to use his skills as a mercenary in order to help raise the stakes in Silvermane's ongoing feud with Herman Schultz. His thoughts still rife with that prison nickname, Toomes immediately collaborates with Alistair Smythe on creating a harness to help him carry out his work more effectively...

The Enforcers - Paranoid by the sudden heat that the Maggia's placed on his organization, Herman Schultz has acquired three professionally trained inmates from the Ravencroft Institute to become his personal hitmen. Codenamed Montana, Ox, and Fancy Dan, the three are dangerous sociopaths that Schultz pays a generous amount of money to keep satisfied, but he's starting to wonder how much he can even control them - given their shared penchant for overly violent tactics and aggressive behavior.

Kraven The Hunter - Deported to Africa as a child, Sergei Kravinoff learned how to become a big game hunter from his demented father, who took pride in the slaughter of the continent's wildlife. Eventually mauling his father to death in a delusional belief that he'd consume his father's soul and inherit his greatness, Kravinoff began hunting other "special" game that could pass on their talents to him. One such prey was the up-and-coming masked wrestler named Spider-Man, whom he attempted to kill infront of a crowd of spectators. For this, Kravinoff was arrested and sentenced to incarceration at the Ravencroft Institute, where he now spends his days pining to resume the hunt.

Dr. Cletius Kassaday - The head psychiatrist at the Ravencroft Institute, Kassaday has tirelessly treated the criminally insane for close to fifteen years. But the work has taken it's toll, as he's developed his own psychological issues which have forced him to begin taking various medications to avoid daily nightmares and hallucinations. Intrigued by the recent upsurge of superpowered criminals, Kassaday's mind has expanded with the possibilities of treating such individuals.

That is quite possibly the most daunting supporting cast I've ever seen. Good luck, dude, I look forward to reading it. I love the idea of Grodd in the Spider-verse as well.

Also...

"What's she doing this Friday at 8?"

J. Jonah Jameson as a O'Reilly-esque talk show host? That makes perfect sense.

Credit goes to Carnage for giving me the idea.

And you took it to a whole other level. Awesome work. I'm already desperately thinking of crossover potential for Bats/Spidey.

Him and Godfrey would get along well.

Well, since everyone else is doing it, I might as well do it too. Here is Doom's supporting cast.

The People's Republic of Latveria

Lucia von Bardas: The democratically-elected Prime Minister of Latveria, von Bardas serves as both a spokesperson for the Doom regime, and as head of the country's newly formed legislative branch. To the world at large, Doom is merely a figurehead, and Lucia is the true seat of power in Latveria. Those who know the inner circle of Doomstadt, however, know that the truth is quite the opposite.

Jakob Gorzenk: Latveria's ambassador to the United Nations, Gorzenk is a smooth-talker and a womanizer, exactly the kind of scum needed to grease the wheels of international politics. While he plays the part of the reckless playboy making the most of his diplomatic immunity, Jakob has seen first-hand the steep price for failing his lord, and will be as ruthless as he is shameless in his pursuit of expanding Latverian influence.

Nyssa Raatko: The head of the People's Security Bureau, the dreaded Latverian secret police. Nyssa is tireless in her pursuit of dissidents and insurgents within Latveria and far beyond its borders-- in fact, there are few things she enjoys more.

Valeria Vernard: The current leader of the indigenous Zefiro gypsy clan, and the Zefiro's representative in the Latverian government. While most of her fellow officials are callous and militaristic, Valeria is compassionate and idealistic, and often the most vocal critic of Doom's policies. Despite her potential to become a political threat, Doom has forbidden anyone in his regime from taking action against her, due to his affection for her in their younger years.

The Legion of Shadows

Talia al Ghul: Chief among Doom's assassins and spies, Talia is the right hand of the Demon's Head. Like her late father, she is calculating and cruel, always looking for weak spots to exploit. While she pines for her lost love Bruce Wayne, being a heartbeat away from taking back her father's legacy is an acceptable consolation.

Ubu: A tribe of warriors sworn to protect the Demon's Head, the appointed Ubu will follow any command his master gives him, and fight to the death against his enemies. Bred and conditioned to think only of servitude, the Ubu is less than an individual, and more of an extension of the Demon's Head himself.

The Gorgon: A powerful mutant with the ability to turn enemies to stone with a glare, Tomi Shishido is one of the Legion's most powerful members. While Talia and her assassins typically kill without leaving a trace, the Gorgon is used to send a message, and he revels in the slaughter of his foes.

The Seven Men of Death: A team of seven murderous agents who carry out Doom's will abroad, particularly in the West. They are led by the ever-lethal Lady Shiva, and include the arachnid-like Black Tarantula, the dark archer Merlyn, the clawed cyborg Maduvu, the brutal martial artist Ghost Maker, the sadistic torturer Hook, and the sniper Shellcase.

Enemies of the State

Reed Richards: A scientific genius with few equals in the world, it is not clearly known exactly what "The Accursed Richards" (his official Latverian title) did to earn the scorn of Victor von Doom. However, it is part of Doom's law that his name shall not be uttered without an accompanying curse, under penalty of death, and it is the duty of every Latverian citizen to attempt to detain or kill Richards (may his head rot on a spike) on sight.

Bane: The former second-in-command of Ra's al Ghul, Bane was routed during Doom's coup, and sent into exile. While it is believed he returned to his home island of Santa Prisca to consolidate power there, his true whereabouts are currently unknown, even to the Legion of Shadows.

Bruce Wayne: Formerly the most favored of Ra's al Ghul's pupils, Wayne left the League of Shadows and seemingly has no interest in reclaiming the titles that once could have been his. However, as long as Wayne lives, Doom has a potential threat, one that cannot long stand. Even after the coup, there were those within the Legion of Shadows who whispered longingly for the return of the 'true' heir of Ra's.....to say nothing of the rumors circulating around the 'Masked Prince,' the mysterious child that some claim is locked away in the highest tower of Castle Doom.

I look forward to our inevitable clash somewhere down the line. Awesome first post, too.

So I had a question, do we have any official government agency that's active? SHIELD? ARGUS? Checkmate?

I've mentioned the CIA and Checkmate in my X-Men posts, but that's it.

I intended on using SHIELD - every body cool with that?

Upon further reviewe I've decided to give up on trying to break arcs up into chapters. Having written as many posts in advance as I have, as well as having a truly embarrassing number of posts planned out already, I've realised given how rarely I jump forward from post to post further than a few hours or a day it's pretty moot.

Not that anybody asked. I'm just in a sharing mood.
