Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception - Part 1

I'll be getting this a little later on. I enjoy the Uncharted series... probably the best series on the Playstation... However MW3, Elder Scrolls and Halo are only days away from November 1st.. One of them has to wait..

I won't be playing Uncharted 3 online and I tend to burn through these games on the hardest difficulty in about 8 hours. So... It takes a back seat.

For now.

The thing is MW2 won't be as fun anymore since everyone who played online there will move onto MW3.

But this is why I laugh when people suggest that CoD or Battlefield will win GOTY.

I'll admit that even though I never play CoD games, I will go to my brother's house to play his copy just for this. I liked what I saw from the E3 demo in that took place in NYC. I wouldn't mind playing through that part.

Keep in mind, I do not think it's the best MP ever... CoD MP actually annoys me greatly at times. I play it because my friends do... That's about it, lol.

The single player in MW2 lasted what 5 hours? Definitely not worth it buying it immediately for that.

Well IGN is turning more into a one stop PS3 love shop.

However, i dont doubt this game deserves that score. I mean each game gets exponentially better and Among Thieves was INCREDIBLE. So i can't wait to see what they have in store for this one.

That's because many, many PS3 exclusives actually deserve great ratings!

It lasts a bit longer than that and i like how you're posting about how short the game is in an Uncharted forum. The campaign in uncharted 2 was just as short as mw2

I'm kinda bummed that the story is apparently pretty short at about 8 hours. How long were the other games, in comparison? Since I don't play any MP, this is a bit disappointing. Oh well, I'm sure those hours will be the best in the series, so it's not too bad a trade off, haha.

I think the first one was 6-8 hours with 22 chapters, and the second one was about 8-10 hours with 26 chapters.

The real problem with the games has been that they are so great that its hard to stop playing, so you end up going through the campaign really quickly.

That's cool but i just think that G4 is a little bit bias towards Sony most of the exclusives this year have all gotten a 4/5 from them. i kind of saw it coming but i never really expected it for Uncharted. but all i can do is respect their opinions so that's what i'll do

I dont see 8 hours as a short game. That seemed comparable to the last game which I just finished again this weekend and found lengthy enough. If 8 hours isnt enough for you, at least take satisfcation in that it is 8 hours of pure awesomeness and not filler to artificially fluff and extend the gaming experience. I havent played UC3 but there was no downtime in UC2. There was always something going on and everything you did was progressing the story. There were plenty of big set peices and unexpected moments thrown at you to switch things up and keep you on your toes. You're never just doing nothing and struggling to get to the next section. UC2 was a VERY complete experience and those 8-10 hours were action packed. If UC3 proves to be the same then its an automatic winner. I dont need it to be 12+ hours if it can deliver a solid, above average experience in 8. Id rather have something like than something thats longer with hours of filler. There is a such thing as a game being too long and Naughty Dog seems to no the perfect medium of when to stop.

I've seen some reviews that peg it at 10-12 hours and some at 8. It really depends on the player and if you are trying to find all of those wonderful,wonderful shiny treasures. It's definitely a game I will play multiple times and that adds to it's value IMO.

I shaved off about 2 hours from both games by avoiding the treasures on subsequent playthroughs. The trophy hunter in me tries to go for as many as possible the first time around but once I get them, I focus solely on the story.

See when I played Uncharted 2 I wanted to get all the treasures. Then I started to try and beat it on the more difficulty levels.

I liked multiplayer for Uncharted 2 but not as much as I like it here. I think they really tweaked and improved multiplayer a lot this go around besides some of the balance and control issues.

Two boosters I desperately want for multiplayer:

some sort of body armor booster and also a friendly grenade guard booster.

The closest to the boosters you are looking for are: Regeneration booster that speeds up your heal time from wounds and a Team Safe booster that cuts the power of your grenade in half when a team mate is involved.
