This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]468557[/split]
During Sony's PlayStation 4 All Access event tonight, Naughty Dog teased a new Uncharted game coming for PlayStation 4.
Few details were revealed, but a short teaser trailer showed a map and a voiceover that said, "Some chains can never be broken. I lost 15 years. Buried alive. Erased. You left me rotting in that hell hole and never looked back. But you cant outrun the past, and when it catches up, when all your lies collapse around you, Ill be there sifting through the wreckage. You owe me."
Shortly after the teaser, Naughty Dog co-president Evan Wells teased, "if you pick through that trailer youll find some hints," but wouldn't confirm whether or not the new game will feature the return of Uncharted hero Nathan Drake.
On Twitter, Uncharted writer Amy Hennig confirmed that the voice actor in the trailer is Todd Stashwick, but provided no additional details about who he's playing.
I don't usually have more than one gamer friend round at a time these days. I have a film projector and large screen TV next to each other ready to go for 2 player on 360. But everything else is packed away as it just doesn't happen often enough now. Even when it did it would be a case of bringing down extra TVs from other rooms. Couldn't get away with leaving them all in the lounge all the time though.word man, more power to you. do you have the setups next to each other as well? that's what 50 cent does when he plays with his friends
you don't have to have gamer friends to get your friends to game girls find LBP to be adorable - just from watching it.I don't usually have more than one gamer friend round at a time these days. My friend had a Battlefield and Medal of Honor session at his house where everyone brought their own console and games and a lot of people brought small monitors. So we had between 8-12 people playing together in the same place on the same team at any one time (sometimes on the opposite team by mistake). Couldn't always get everyone in the same game though. That was crazy but it only happened once ever.

the projector/tv setup sounds pretty dope though. we should have a "show your setup" thread here.
also, congrats to project pat for having this thread make it to a part 1
I feel you man. I too like watching people play games sometimes like watching a movie. sometimes after watching for a while though I feel like jumping in haha. what do you mean all these togethers aren't as common as they used to be?I have a lot of people who like watching or playing single player games. Just don't usually get enough people who can hold a controller properly to make it worth moving more TVs around. Many people would quite happily watch an Uncharted or Mass Effect on the big screen and take turns playing than doing anything competitive. Plus all these get togethers aren't as common as they used to be.
Yeah I'll post it next time it's all turned on at the same time.
I think all the uncharted games are like that tbh. hell all of ND's games from last gen are like that.I reckon Uncharted 4 will be one of the best games to play through but also to watch as a movie. I rewatched the 1st 3 again while I was on the train the other day and will probably do so again just before UC4 comes out.
haha, you're right man I just didn't wanna post mine first because my setup ain't nothing special.Get togethers are not as regular now I'm older and my friends are older. Cool, I'll post mine in there at some point. You should have kicked it off with your own though. Noone wants to go first on a blank page.
yap. my guess and hope is that it is for reaching 60fps - maybe they found a way for it to work, and need that extra time to get it to be consistent for the whole game.I had no idea the delay had been confirmed. So it's back to being a year away.
What guys? Why did these guys leave? Thought they might want to be around for its next gen debut.
The ones in the post from Havok above mine. ("Amy Hennig and other key figures")What guys?
Before there was TLoU, they gave us Among Thieves. Yes, Hening is listed as a director, but there is a clear through line between Among Thieves and TLoU. While Hening was busy finishing UC and starting up UC3, Druckmann and Straley were making a pair of masterpieces. Among Thieves and TLoU walk all over UC1 and UC3.Sony hadn't openly talked about it but I read rumors of internal differences with the direction UC4 was going. Some speculated that Amy was kind of pushed out in favor of TLoU guys but that's all speculation
Changing the framerate isnt going to delay the game nearly 6 months. The game was likely never going to come out this year. That was very optimistic on NDs part but given the high profile departures last year and how things needed to be reshuffled, its no surprise that they need extra time. I dont think it was realistic that they could lose Amy Hennig and other key figures and still be on track for their expected release. UC4 was her vision and with her gone, that had to change
ND said it was really effing hard to implement it but it is what they were targeting in the first place. if they found a way to do it but need to rework vast amounts of the game, it could explain at least part of the reason the game was delayed. Before there was TLoU, they gave us Among Thieves. So if that really was the call, they made the right decision.

"disappointing reception"? it got a 92 on metacritic, who in the right mind would call that disappointing? unless you're talking about fan reception which is a little more mixed.I really hate that people try and downplay Amy Hennig's involvement in the success of Uncharted.
Keep in mind, Straley and Druckmann were afforded certain privileges that Hennig wasn't. For instance, The Last of Us had nearly double the amount of development time that Uncharted 3 was given (3.5 years vs 2 years). Before The Last of Us, Naughty Dog had never delayed a game before. That's a failure on Evan Wells and Christophe Balestra. Uncharted 3 was in desperate need of a delay and Naughty Dog had to do an insane crunch to be able to meet that November release. U3's disappointing reception is what convinced Naughty Dog management to delay TLOU multiple times.

and as far as I can remember, tlou was delayed only once
As someone who finds the first Uncharted a real annoyance to play, yep I don't think Hennig had the magic bullet.I really hate that people try and downplay Amy Hennig's involvement in the success of Uncharted.

The general media who loves anything ND ate up UC3. The more refined critics saw it for what it is imo. The general reception was far behind Among Thieves, and ND admitted as such. They changed policy because of it."disappointing reception"? it got a 92 on metacritic, who in the right mind would call that disappointing? unless you're talking about fan reception which is a little more mixed.

I hope they bring back salim for Uc4. I get that all the uncharted games are standalone stories but I think some of the supporting characters deserve more character arcs.Fan reception. Tons of people hate it. While I do think it was a disappointment, it's still a very good game. It just sucks that it was rushed and that Cutter's actor left midway through production to work on The Hobbit. He was supposed to appear throughout the entire game. In general, Uncharted 3's characters are undeveloped. At least they tried something different though.
Yeah, you're right about TLOU. For some reason, I thought it had been delayed twice.
I don't doubt it, but could you give a source where ND admitted this? The general media who loves anything ND ate up UC3. The more refined critics saw it for what it is imo. The general reception was far behind Among Thieves, and ND admitted as such. They changed policy because of it.

And Uncharted 3 did not have 2 years of development. They did with Uncharted 3 what they did with TLoU. They split the teams and were working on it while working Among Thieves. This is why the real leads on Among Thieves were Druckmann and Straley. Did they rush UC3 out the doors? Yes, but it had more development time then you are giving it credit.
