I am no transformers expert so I googled this character and he sounds an awful lot like Galactus. I am surprised Marvel didnt sue the transformers guys for stealing Galactus and making him a robot.

Save Unicron for part 3... though i'm not sure how you justify how large Unicron is supposed to be, traveling through a solar system without causing all sorts of cosmic havoc...

Personally, I think TF3 is still too early for Unicron. If it were up to me, I would prefer that the third film revolves around Shockwave in some capacity. Maybe take some inspiration from the second volume of the Dreamwave series with him having united the Autobots and Decepticons who remained on Cybertron under his rule. Something along those lines.

All the while planting more seeds for the arrival of Unicron in TF4.

The Potential for stories are endless when it comes to Transformers, just consider how many movies they can make before people get sick of it. Apart from Shockwave they can use Bludgeon and Thunderwing as bad guys as well.

Exactly. Which is why they're better off holding off on Unicron until they're certain that they want to end the series.

2 great posts which sum up my thoughts exactly, I think in the 3rd movie Shockwave or Thunderwing could be introduced with their own storylines, and save Unicron for TF4, which, lets face it, if these movies keep making money, we will see at some point.

Saying that, I would love a line from a defeating/dying Fallen at the end of TF2 to go something like "My defeat/death is meaningless, for though many serve me, I serve a still greater power!"

I agree that "planet eater" Unicron is too similar to Galactus. Also, how's a planet suppose to feed a giant robot?
What about a sun eater, instead? A Unicron bigger than our sun that feeds on hydrogen.

They haven't done Galactus in a motion picture anyway (DO NOT even say anything about Fantastic Four II)... so it wouldn't hurt to show a proper planet eater in motion.


Though I do like luca's idea about a sun eater. Though I don't see how any of the Transformers would battle anything on that scale. Too overwhelming.
