Universal MCU: Hulk and Namor

And yet I think that tremor under the ocean mentioned by Okya in Endgame is a set up for Namor and Atlantis.

It would have to be generally about Africa and not Wakanda specifically. BP would have to get to one of the countries on the African coastline. If Namor caused a tidal wave, I don't know if it would reach as far as Wakanda since that would be roughly somewhere central like Democratic Republic of Congo.

No offense to anyone but why do we still take We Got This Covered seriously?

None of us are really but it’s nice to have a bit of a chat about what could be

Not sure how this can be since Wakanda is landlocked isn't it?

You ever see Free Willy? Maybe they’ll move in namor on the back of someone’s truck like they did the whale

Do you think now that the spidey/mcu deal has sprang back to life there might be more of a chance to bring namor over to the MCU?

Why would Spider-Man affect Namor either way? I would've hoped he'd come over regardless of Spidey.

Well he’s stuck at another studio so either Disney would have to buy the rights back (and these days universal would only sell for like a billion dollars even for a character like Namor) or they can have a sharing deal like the Sony/marvel relationship

Namor isn't as lucrative as Spiderman as a brand

Oh well they used to say that about black panther and then he made a billon dollars at the box office. My point is that obviously Disney wants all the marvel brands under one roof

There's a difference in Marvel themselves turning a property into a lucrative brand and sharing profits or doing a deal with another studio for a character. There's a clear distinction between Spiderman and Namor, and if they won't give Hulk a solo movie because Universal has the distribution rights, why would they do so for Namor?

Oh well I reckon if Disney actually had the rights to namor they could work with merchandising. I mean people would love namor shirts and mugs. People loved the shape of water and Aquaman. Imagine that but with a bit more of a Mick jagger types swagger.

it’s not happening tomorrow but one day? Why not

What about Ken Yamamura as Namor?

He’s 33 and in Netlfix’s upcoming Earthquake Bird (with Alicia Vikander). He was also the young soldier Yashida in The Wolverine too.

Looks pretty good to me. Do you have a favourite choice for Namorita too?

Edward Norton says his abandoned 'Hulk' script had a 'Batman Begins/Dark Knight' "vision"

I would have really loved to see that, and still feel he is the best actor for the part. He is truly a fan of the hulk character and it shows in his 2008 film. I know people love Ruffalo, but I would take Norton, and wish they would go back now and let him make a part 2 to that film. They could easily explain it away as it’s an alternate timeline.

Oh well don’t they all say that.

“Our ghost rider was going to be the next Dark Knight”. Ok whatever.

anyway I would love to see Kimie Tsukakoshi as Namorita

Would the best news to kick off 2020.

If Hulk does get a solo, then that's where I want Wolverine to debut in the MCU. It would be completely fitting, and would also boost Hulk's own movie too, setting it apart from previous solo attempts.

Yeah I'll get excited when we hear word from somewhere other than Manabyte and CBM.com.

I would gladly take a solo Hulk sequel, as that is one of the things I've been most wanting in the MCU. But I will temper my enthusiasm until this is run by a more legitimate source

Yeah we’ve mentioned this a ton in the X-Men thread. It would be the perfect way to debut him as well as giving him an entry outside of X-Men, allowing the X-Men film to launch without him and then build up his eventual joining the team later.

What is Jeremy Conrad AKA Manabytes' track record like? He's now reporting that they're developing projects related to the Defenders.

I still don't buy any of this but man do I want to.

Conrad said on Twitter that this info came from the same source that told him that Katherine Langford was playing an adult version of Tony Stark’s daughter(which turned out to be true). Conrad was actually the first one to report this info as a rumor based on the info he got from this source which is similar to what he’s doing with this.

As for his other track record, he was also the first one to break the news that Marvel was working on an Eternals movie before even big trades like Hollywood Reporter & Variety reported it. So he’s been shown to be reliable but he’s gotten stuff wrong before as well like when he reported the subtitle for Avengers 4 was going to be “Annihilation.”

So we’ll have to wait and see. I think there’s at least a 50/50 chance of this being true. It sounds credible seeing as there is just no point in Universal keeping the right for first refusal of distribution for a character they don’t have the production rights to. Maybe Disney did some deal making behind the scenes? I don’t know, but it’s certainly possible.
