So tonight I got the dvd (with 21 deleted scenes woo hoo), this is the second time I saw the movie and i have to say it is MUCH better on second viewing! Does anyone agree?

I still hate that they cured Rogue and that the final Pheonix destruction scene wasn't longer but there is so much I missed the first time around, it didn't feel so rushed this time.

Does anyone else like this movie much more after a second viewing? Still not as good as X2, but better then X1, IMO.

When I saw it the second time in theatres I thought it was better. I liked it the first time but it felt too rushed. The second time didn't feel like that.

I hated them curing Rogue and killing Cyclops. Killing him, and NOT making the death sad was dumb.:down

I think I might like this one more than X2 now but I'm still not sure. I used to like X2 more.

I'm confused now.:(

... can u upload the mags/jean scene? when he asks her to fight? for some reason...the jean/phoenix vs logan/wolverine is better in french...doesn't seem as rushed.

Though... I havn't watched X1 and X2 in french, but X2 remains my fave...

the movie gets better each time you see, but its still lightyears behind X2...

yeah the second time i saw it i was like..wo a lot better because my expectations werent so high. I mean It's not Batman and Robin it's pretty decent (they just killed cyclops for wolvie to shine GREEDY BASTARDS **** YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!)..Woah lost the happy thaught there sorry.

Yeah... a side from being mad that they killed off Cyclops and got Rogue to take the cure, X3 is decent...but if u put those deleted scenes and edit it too... it might make it better but thats unless you've got the editing skills to do it.

I love X3. Loved it the first time and I love it now. Yes, it had its mistakes, but what film doesn't? And, to be perfectly honest, I didn't mind the absense of the Phoenix Bird.

yeah, but seems so short, i personally need a break from X3 now and in a few months itll be breathe of fresh air

I don't agree with the second half - I say they're both great stories, just very different. Though all three keep the same feeling, they are all very different in terms of characterization, pacing and story-telling.

I think I will be needing a break as well. I am becoming increasingly bored with this movie.

Honestly, I don't mind the lack of fire bird ( I did during the first viewing). They really made Phoenix look like fire instead of having fire around her. She really was visually stunning

I love that Xaiver knew he was going to die, and he found a way to escape it. Love that Mags powers are coming back. Also, I was thinking about something someone posted, if they do another X-movie, Rogue could get her powers back. The cure was based on a mutant power, what if her powers only allowed a temporary cure bc her powers absorbed leechs, instead of being changed by it... could work.

Also, after the first viewing, I wondered what happened with the cure (it just seemed to disapear). But upon second viewing, I realized Dr Rao said they need Leech bc they haven't found a way to replicate her dna, so without Leech, the cure is over.

Sadly, Phoenix needed to do more at the end and Halle still sucks as an actress.

treat it as the same, I adore X3, it had passion and faith, it had feeling and good plotline! If you watched Brett's comentary on the movie, you'll understand why he did it. When Roguee was cureed!

Actually, I don't care about the Phoenix bird anymore. I was only concerned about the lack of Jean showing how much she is struggling with her dark side.

In a way, in one of the deleted scenes when she senses a girl crying in fear... You see Jean, not Phoenix, but inside her, she's fighting...and is lost and tormented at the same time. it reminded me of Anakin on the balcony over looking the lava river on Mustafar, and you can tell he's still Anakin, not Vader, but inside him, he's fighting...but lost and tormented at the same time.

"The boy you trained, gone he is, consumed by Darth Vader."

"The woman you trained, gone she is, consumed by Dark Phoenix."

...

so what exactly are these 21 deleted scenes? I find it hard to believe they'd release 2 versions of the dvd like that.

EDIT - Nevermind, I guess my copy has the 21, I didn't even bother to count them. I just hit play all.

i still think there should be a fiery aura :( i'll never see that in a movie in my life anymore, they wasted the only chance...even if they reboot the franchise, i'll probably be 60 years old by then...

Well...Jean's power is similiar to that of the force, right? except she ain't a Jedi... lol. She should try the force choke and use it on ... hmmm... lol..

Anyway... I forgot to put this part in my earlier post...

Both have met their ends...both good and bad at the same time...Anakin only died once (in ROTJ) no need to bring him back from his grave and I know it will never happen lol...especially not in the SW universe but as for Jean, yeah, she's come back a few times, understandable...although thats only if u go by the comics and the phoenix force entity...

It was a mistake, we were supposd to have ten but instead we got all the ones the other regions are getting. Most of them are pointless, except the Jeans ones. I don't blame them for leaving most out, although the Storm tidal wave, Bobby freezing Phat and Jean sensing the scared girl should have been left in.

I decided my favorite part of the movie is when Jean and Logan are in the infimary and Jean is Dark Phoenix and growls "I don't WANT to control it!" SoOo good! Also Hugh Jackman and Halle Berry should never cry on film again.

actually, the only moment that brought tears to my eyes is when Halle Berry cries. :p Damn i got caught when i saw her kneeling and then the whole eulogy...

I believe that too much hype tends to kill the first viewing :p

Halle is amazing at crying on film. Watch Gothika...it's all she does :D

i agree, the hype (and keeping my fingers crossed for a cure-less rogue) killed x3 for me the first, without expectations i liked it a lot
