because some actors are more suited for specific roles. This is why some actors are typecast. For example villains. The usual suspects: Willem Dafoe, Javier Bardem, Christopher Lee. Other actors are more believable as motherly figures. Eva Green is one that is not. Whereas someone who is perceived as motherly are actresses like Meryl Streep, Linda Hamilton, and my personal favourite, Dianne Wiest. Also it is my opinion so we will have to agree to disagree lol

i agree, she has grown out of being typecast as a goth, she can probably play a motherly figure now, but I personally dont buy her for Sue. I wasnt saying ERW is a villain type actor, just is not the first actress i think of when casting a classic motherly type
